Hello, hello! With the holiday-like chilly weather rolling in and Thanksgiving quickly approaching next week (!!!), I thought it would be a good time to start rolling out this year’s Holiday Gift Guides.
I’ve featured a collection of Fitness Goodies and then an Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide, and this year I wanted to break it down and feature more items per category. I’m not sure exactly how many I will put together, but I thought it would be good to start with shopping for the special men in our lives. That is the category that is usually the hardest for me.
It’s a long one, so let’s jump right in!
• puffer vests
You probably already know my obsession with with puffer vests, but Scott loves them too. He bought one on his own last year and wore it constantly! I took a clue and bought him two more from The North Face outlet soon after for Christmas last year, and he continuously rotates them when it’s cool (or warm) enough to wear them.
Keep a lookout at stores like Old Navy, , H&M and discount retailers for great deals! (All the vests pictured above are from those stores.)
I even found a blue plaid printed boy’s XL in the clearance section at The North Face outlet for half the price. It was legitimately the same size as an Adult Medium, and is currently the one he pulls out to wear the most.
If you don’t tell him, I won’t.
• update or replace their favorite cologne
Scott bought a bottle of Terre D’Hermes after a friend of his suggested it a couple of years ago, and it has been is absolute favorite ever since! This scent is on the pricier side, but Scott claims it’s the best cologne he has ever used. Plus, the bottle lasts quite a while. The cheapest (or most value in ounces) I’ve seen it available for purchase is .
My favorites from his collection: &
• Supra sneakers
I wouldn’t normally put a specific sneaker as a bullet point on a gift guide, but Scott and at least a handful of other guys I know are ridiculously into Supra Footwear. Supra sells high tops, mid tops, and low tops in a variety of colors, prints, styles, and price points.
I recently purchased for Scott as a birthday present, and what do you know… two pairs arrived the day they came in. He had ordered an additional for himself!
He’s crazy, but seriously a fan.
• happy socks
Patterned and printed socks are a great step up from the classic pack of black dress socks men always need. Scott prefers to buy and wear bright and borderline obnoxious socks, and we both love the designs of. They really do make me happy!
You can find them on the Happy Socks website, in department stores, and even .
• headphones/ear buds
You can never go wrong with a quality pair of head phones or ear buds. Even if your guy doesn’t frequent the gym, a good pair of noise canceling headphones or earbuds like these Beats by Dre are perfect for any traveler. I surprised Scott with these two years ago and he takes them everywhere.
I’ve found competitive prices and a great selection at Best Buy!
• warm “manly” slippers
After Scott asked for a pair of warm slippers for Christmas last year, he received the from my family. They are so comfortable you guys. I stole and wore them every chance I got until I finally picked up a version of my own a couple weeks ago!
I’m pretty sure my mom ordered them from Zappos, but you can usually walk into any department store or even discount retailer like TJMaxx or Marshalls and find similar styles.
If he didn’t already have a pair of slippers, I would be eyeing: these, these, these, or these (for warmer climates).
• unique phone charger(s)
This may sound silly, but you can never have too many of these… especially if you have an iPhone and your friends want to borrow yours. Right? I can’t tell you how many times Scott and I playfully fight over using the same iPhone 5 charger at home.
We used to have several, but they keep “walking off”. I fully blame the husband for hoarding them somewhere I don’t know about.
Anyways, I have a couple bookmarked to order off of Amazon. I really like the the best! The idea of ordering a specific color for Scott so he knows it’s without a doubt his charger is genius.
I better order a few.
• giftcards for “manpering”
I thought I just made that word up, until I found it on Urban Dictionary.
Anyways, Manpering. Like pampering… but for men. Whether they admit to it or not, most men do like to get pampered every once in a while!
Gift him with a service he wouldn’t necessarily pay for himself.
While living in Orlando, I often bought Scott gift cards to go get a professional shave from Kennedy’s Barber Shop. That was a solid go-to he always appreciated! I haven’t found anything similar up in Michigan yet, but I’m sure they exist. I need to find one.
You could also gift a massage, a pedicure (seriously, most men love them if you take them!), or a facial. No shame!
• athletic/running shoes
Is the guy you’re buying for a runner? A CrossFitter? A fan of athletic shoes whether he’s working out or not?
Scott has more gym shoes than I care to mention, but I ordered him one of my favorite versatile sneakers in a fun color last year, and now wears them more than any others. Unfortunately, the Reebok CrossFit Nano Speed sneakers I purchased are no longer available (though it seems?), but my second choice for an all-over versatile athletic shoe is the .
Scott likes color, so I would choose something similar to what I pictured. They do, of course, sell less neon options as well, and you can find a variety online or at several retailers like or these.
• SAXX underwear
To end with a bang, the last item might make you blush a little.
Hey, I’m blushing too.
I asked Scott if it would be appropriate to share these self-proclaimed “junk holders” and he insisted. They’re called SAXX and, well… come equipped with a patented ergonomic comfort pouch to hold in all the goods.
I like to compare it to girls wearing sports bras. They’re comfy and practical when you’re looking for some support. They’re definitely on the pricey side, but Scott has quickly become a fan, and I always hear him talk about them to his man friends. Check out Amazon (scroll through the pages for cool and colorful prints) for the best deals!
Additional ideas worth checking out:
>> Dollar Shave Club – Scott just ordered the $9 monthly membership! They provide cheap, quality razors and have awesome products too.
>> Man-Pack – a product seen on Shark Tank Scott really wants.
>> Jack Threads – a member’s only shopping community that offers quality brands and pieces at huge discounts!

My husband loved the bright colored socks also. Every time I go to Nordstrom’s The Rack I stock up. They are always pretty cheap there. http://www.eatallovertheworld.weebly.com

Ah I wish my boyfriend would go for the puffer vest…I brought them up recently and he immediately turned the idea down.
SAXX on the other hand are a very popular item for him! Great list! I love the happy socks – they will be a great addition 🙂

Honestly? My husband is a car guy (one of the many reasons I love him) so I typically buy him some sort of tool. This makes him extremely easy to buy for.
Heather
Ahhh, tools. Great suggestion!
