Morning! I hope you had a great night celebrating the green holiday, and that your Tuesday is off to a great start.
We ended up postponing our dinner party, on account of sold out corned beef. Yeah, I guess waiting until the late afternoon to purchase that on a holiday when everyone else is cooking with it too isn’t the greatest idea. You live, you learn right?
Scott and I ended up having a very relaxed movie night in, which was just fine with me. It’s nice to have plans to not have plans every once in a while.
Today, I am off to the dentist to pick up my night guard and hopefully get on the road to getting rid of these morning headaches. Remember my post about teeth grinding? Yup, that’s still a thing.
Anyways, this week is a unique one for us, as we don’t have any scheduled home games! These types of weeks always give me a chance to catch up on life and actually get myself to the gym more than a few times. Woo hoo!
I wasn’t in the mood to really do much yesterday, but I knew I wanted to get my blood and heart rate pumpin’ on the treadmill. Days where I think I will go crazy “just running” for x amount of minutes prompts me to create more exciting, interval workouts to keep me busy.
Here’s what I did yesterday, which ended up kicking my booty pretty well.
HIIT Treadmill Workout
As always, please be sure to adjust the speed and workout to fit your personal fitness levels. A speed of 8.5 is pretty challenging for me, so I wanted to work my way up to it. There’s nothing wrong with starting lower with a sprint minute of 7 and go to 7.5 or 8, for example.
After 21 minutes, I ran just about 2.2 miles and finished off my workout with a series of abs, planks, and pushups with a long stretch afterwards.
The gym wasn’t terribly crowded around 4 p.m., which I have a feeling was the result of it being St. Patrick’s Day. I tried my best to incorporate some form of green into my gym apparel, and it seemed to work out pretty well considering I didn’t experience any pinching from strangers.
Phew!
I have a feeling today might be a little more crowded at the gym. If you’re looking for something to keep you busy, I encourage you to hop on the treadmill and give this series of intervals a go!
Now I’m off to the dentist. See you later this afternoon!

This is definitely my type of workout. I don’t like spending more than 25 minutes on the treadmill, so I have to make the most of it!

Yes, intervals seem to help the time go by faster if I’m stuck inside at the gym.

I can’t wait to try this interval workout! These kind truly are the best and keep you going!

Interval workouts on the treadmill are killer, but it definitely keeps my interest because I’m completely bored of anything that just keeps me running “slow and steady”. I need to change it up man! I’m writing down this one for sure.

Great workout! Thanks for posting.
