I love your blog! I’m totally trying this.. I’ve hit a treadmill plateau. I’m running my first marathon in a couple months and I haven’t trained much.. any sugguestions??
thank you!
Hi Olga, thank you! I’m not sure where this post came from that you commented on, but here is the full version I published on the blog: https://lifeinleggings.com/healthy-eating/678-treadmill-interval-workout/
Good luck training for and running in your first marathon! Have you ever run a half marathon? I’m not sure where your starting level is, but if you are a beginning runner here is a post on where to start: https://lifeinleggings.com/videos/lady-bloggers-qa-video/
Basically, take it one step at a time, get on a consistent training program leading up to the race day (I did 10 weeks for my half training) and take baby steps. If you haven’t run a 5K before, start there, then move on to a 10K, a 15K, a half marathon and then eventually a full. I hope this helps!
Hi Heather! Funny I couldn’t find where i commented.. lol. I think when i printed the workout i just starting writing below. oops! But let me tell you, it kicked my butt tonight! I had done a hour of pilates so I really wanted to jump on that treadmill.. but was only able to do 15 minutes. I did lower the speeds tho. I couldn’t run to 8, so I tried 5,6, 7. and 5.5 6.5. 7 and so on! Next time I’ll concentrate on the interval workout and do pilates another day. I’ll email you soon.. my reply is ridiculously long! sorry:)
Hey 15 minutes is still a great start! I’m not kidding when I say it still kicks my butt! lol. It’s good that you took the speeds at your own speeds, as I suggested in the original post. Everyone and every treadmill is different!
Also, don’t apologize for lengthy comments… I love reading them! 🙂
