Hello! I hope you are all having a great Tuesday. I have to say, I am really loving reading your comments on this morning’s post!
For anyone looking for tips on meal planning, there are tons of fabulous ones in the comments section. I plan to compile and share them as one big meal planning tips post later this week.
Until then, let’s talk about today. Today was weird. I woke up freezing, then decided it was warm enough to run outside later in the afternoon. I’m so glad it the temperature rose and the sun came out because I have a new running watch to try out!
I was sent the new Timex One GPS+ to review for a campaign with FitFluential, and I am anxious to see what it’s all about! I’ll be sure to share a full review later this month, but for now, just know it rocks.
Roadie was so excited when I asked him if he wanted to go for a run today. All I had to do was get my shoes on, grab my headphones and look over his way for him to sense the question coming on…
“Do you want to go for a runnnn?” Ha! He literally spun in circles while barking his head off before plowing down the stairs in anticipation. He’s the best.
I wasn’t sure how far we would go with the uninvited windchill at the beginning, but it warmed up around the two mile mark, which just so happened to be the entrance to the trails.
Oh hey there, don’t mind if we do!
The grass may be brown and the trees may be bare, but gosh, I miss that view. It’s so beautiful!
About half a mile into the trails, Roadie became really persistent on pulling me towards the overlook. He doesn’t usually do that, so I just let him go. I guess the view there isn’t all that horrible to stop for, either.
I kid you not, I could not get the pup to turn around even for a couple of seconds to snap a photo. He was enthralled in the scenery, and I don’t really blame him. I know my sanity sure has missed this place!
As we made our way back to the main path, I was taken off guard by a running group that was passing through. We weren’t the only ones with the idea to take advantage of the perfect running (chilly but awesome) weather today.
Hooray for a return to the trails!
We made our final loop home at exactly four miles. We didn’t worry about any kind of time this go around, and instead just enjoyed the experience. It feels so nice to be back!
Wanting something fruity and somewhat filling to tie me over until dinner, I refueled with a big smoothie bowl that could have easily satisfied two people.
Blackberry Smoothie Bowl
1/2 cup frozen spinach
1 serving vanilla whey protein powder
1 cup frozen blackberries
1/2 cup frozen grapes
1/2 banana
1 cup almond milk
agave nectar to taste
Smoothie bowls + sunshine = pure bliss.
Thank you, Spring!
Now that I’m stuffed, its time to start thinking about dinner. Rather than getting sucked into wanting to make everything you guys suggested earlier, I think I’ll stick to cleaning out the refrigerator. For now.
Thanks again for your tips. I’ll see you tomorrow!

Ahh that looks so pretty! Sometimes I miss running in chilly weather. And it sounds like we’re about to get hit with some 90 degree days again at the end of the week. Not fun for running!
I’ve only ever used Garmin brand watches, so it’s nice to hear about other models.
Heather
90 degrees! Geez, I can’t even remember what that feels like. I’m over here grateful for the mid-30s today! #sadbuttrue

You’ve got me planning to adopt a dog as soon as I get home! Seriously, that run with your pup looks like an absolute dream come true. Not to mention I’ve been craving smoothies for approximately seven months. 😉
I can’t wait to hear about the Timex! I would love a new running watch, but can’t go spend $300 on a new Garmin.
Heather
Awww. I sure do love my runs with Roadie. He can be a little difficult to tame at times, but he sure is a love bug. It will be hard not to have a dog around from here on out! <3

I’ve never added grapes into my smoothies/bowls, but looks so delicious and fresh! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Heather
I always put them in the freezer when they are about to go bad and love adding them into smoothies!

Weather here was weird too! It snowed this am but was melted and the sun was shining this evening and I had the heavy door open! My dogs were sunbathing and soaking it up!
That smoothie bowl looks yummy! What a great day to be outside then have a springy meal/snack!
Heather
Aw, Roadie and the cats have also been trying to sneak in any sunshine they can. Helloooooo Spring!

The weather in Austin has been crazy too! We have to get outside and enjoy the good weather whenever it pops up. Great looking smoothie bowl!
Heather
Exactly! I hope you have a great week and enjoy some good weather!

Ahh my dogs react the same way when they know they are going for a walk! So cute! Blackberries are my favorite berries, I am stealing that recipe 🙂
Heather
I hope you enjoy it! It probably could have done without the spinach, but… what can I say? I love spinach. 😉

I`m planning to run this week. And reading this makes me want to have a bowl of that Blackberry Smoothie too.
