Hi friends! I hope you are all having a great start to the week. I still can’t believe it’s Tuesday already. Yesterday just felt so weird.
I don’t have much time before I need to get ready for work, but I wanted to pop in for a few minutes. How are you guys? I feel like it’s been a little bit since we’ve chatted. If you caught this morning’s blog post, then you already know what we were up to in Chicago over the weekend.
Since I drove back from the city on Sunday night, Roadie has been doing a great job at being the man of the house until Scott returns later this week. He’s such a great protector.
I got much needed massage last night, and am sad to say it will be my last one for a while.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my membership at Massage Envy since we moved up to Michigan, but we are currently trying to cut back on any extra expenses this summer. As important as I think scheduling regular massages is for your overall health, it’s (sadly) going to take a back seat for at least a couple of months.
Needless to say, I soaked in every bit of my hour on the table after work last night.
I had a doctor’s appointment late this morning that included blood work. My last experience getting my blood drawn was a couple of weeks ago and it was horrible. Horrible. The nurse had to poke me with a needle three separate times to get a good vain, and the blood came out unbearably slow. I felt really light headed and came close to passing out. This made me really nervous about going in again today.
Lucky for me, this time was completely different. The tech was in and out on the first try, no problem. Thank goodness!
I know I have been super lame and vague by casually mentioning that I’ve been seeing my doctor more than normal lately. I promise to fill you guys in soon. In fact, it will most likely be tomorrow. For now, just know I’m not pregnant, and it looks like I don’t have too much to worry about as of right now. Hopefully that holds you over until I can write more!
I got back to my car around 11:30 a.m., and drove right over to a bridal shop in Birmingham to get fitted for a bridesmaids dress.
But first, lunch.
I was going to venture out and try a new-to-me vegan cafe called Try It Raw, but I was craving something a little more comforting than zoodles after the blood work nonsense. Panera Bread was just a couple of doors down, so I quickly decided a You-Pick-2 would hit the spot.
The black bean soup looks horrendous, but I promise it’s delicious.
And have you seen or tried the new watermelon & feta salad yet? Um, you need to. Immediately.
It wasn’t the most filling salad on the menu, but it sure was refreshing. I just love the feta, watermelon, and greens combo!
After lunch, I drove right down the road to the bridal shop only to find out that they close on Tuesdays. That was totally unexpected and inconvenient. It looks like I’ll need to make another trip down to Birmingham tomorrow… so random.
As soon as I returned home, I changed into my running clothes and leashed Roadie up for an easy-paced few miles around the trails.
His faces though!
I’m pretty sure I caught him mid-yawn, but still. I legitimately laugh out loud at him and his expressions on a daily basis.
After we got back inside, I chugged a tall glass of water and went straight over to the freezer for one of these frozen fruit popsicles. Yum!
Oh summer, how I adore you and all of the sweet and frozen things that come along too.
All right. That should bring us up to speed, and I now have just enough time to get ready to train and teach at the gym for the remainder of the night. I’ll see you back in the morning with a little of what’s been going on in our world lately.
Have a great rest of your Tuesday!
