Good Morning! Today I wanted to make sure to post bright and early to for a change.
Back in the days of teaching barre classes, I published my posts by 7:30 a.m. every single weekday. These days, you guys are lucky if you get something from me by lunch time! This just means my time to blog has now shifted to a bit later in the day, no biggie.
It has been ages since I have posted one of my own workouts here. By ages, I mean months, and I mean five of them. For those of you who enjoy workout posts, you can now sleep easier knowing I have made it a personal goal to post more of them just in time for summer!
During the NBA off-season, I have a lot more time to catch up on things. There are a handful of workouts I keep in my personal repertoire and continuously rotate, but I have never attempted to share them with you. The main reason is because I never had the time or motivation to put together coordinating video demonstrations of the exercises.
I know… excuses, excuses. It’s a shame really.
Shame no more, because today is the start of me getting back into posting my fitness routines!
I originally got the ideas for these exercises from my athletic trainers in college. To this day, I still use and remember a lot of them because they were ingrained into my brain (and body).
Arm Workout with Dumbbells
First on my list is a circuit of arm exercises using free weights. I always prefer to use dumbbell weights over machines, and this list of exercises can be completed in fifteen minutes!
To be clear on what I mean by each exercise, here is a short video demonstration paired with a little entertainment by yours truly. Enjoy!
Every now and then I will throw in a variety of other arm exercises, but this is the base of what I do for an all over feel-good arm workout at least once a week. Giving my legs a break (I have been running like a maniac!), my trip to the gym yesterday entailed thirty minutes on the elliptical, a few plank holds and this arm routine.
Off to grab some breakfast. Happy Thursday!
Disclaimer: I am not a certified personal trainer, but consider myself a fitness enthusiast. All workouts and advice I post on this blog stems only from my personal experience and knowledge. Before adding anything new into your fitness routine, I always recommend consulting a doctor or health professional first.
Question of the Day
• Do you prefer to use free weights or machines when strength training?
