It’s Mondayyy! With our scheduled moving date recently pushed up even further, I now have by the end of the week to pack up and jet on out of our condo in Orlando. Alrighty then.
I have so much left to do, but yet I am still reminiscing about my cruise to the Bahamas I got home from just a week ago. As promised, I am here to share the rest of our trip, including a day in paradise, also known as Coco Cay, Bahamas.
In case you missed it, you can read all about setting sail and porting to Nassau in my Part One recap!
Missy’s Bachelorette Night Out
After a relaxing day in the sun and a fun afternoon at Senor Frogs, it was time to head back to the ship and get ready for Missy’s “big night out”on the ship.
We had all planned to bring our little black dresses (and slacks for Derek) to make sure our bride-to-be stood out in whatever color she wanted. Royal blue it was, and our black and blue crew headed to a singing and dancing variety show before dinner.
The talent of the entertainment on Royal Caribbean has always impressed me. Two out of the three cruises I have sailed have been with this line and I am happy to leave with great things to say about their singers, dancers, comedians and talent acts.
A highlight of the shows for me was Charles Peachock, a very talented, unique and funny juggler. You might actually recognize him from Season 6 of America’s Got Talent. He became known for juggling small balls on a piano (<- so impressive live) and setting himself on fire!
Before long, it was time for a delicious dinner, followed by an array of desserts. As tempting as the cheesecake and molten lava cake were, I knew I would be too full to really enjoy anything that wasn’t on the lighter menu.
Too bad our wonderful server Judy brought us two of almost everything! So much for that idea. 😉
If there was ever a night to eat two desserts, it was this night. What started as a main deck party turned into a Zumba dance party!
There was a tall, dark and built guy standing in front leading everyone in choreographed sequences for at least an hour straight. Possibly two. There we were in our little black dresses and heels, fitness dancing the night away…
The funniest part about it all was that we found out he did not even work for the cruise line. Apparently, he was just cruisin’ along with us and felt a need to bust out some moves.
Hey, we loved it and if I find out where he teaches I would be all over it.
We had so much fun!
Day 3: Coco Cay
After waking up considerably sore from “Zumbaing” in heels, my thoughts of another round at the gym quickly turned into an extra hour’s sleep. Hey, I was on vacation after all.
With a hearty breakfast of eggs, fruit and yogurt, I boarded our fairy to spend the remainder of the day in Coco Cay.
I had no idea at the time, but we disembarked on a private island that is only accessible to Royal Caribbean cruisers.
The island is a great place to take a load off, enjoy the white-sandy beaches and relax with a tropical drink in hand.
Before setting up our lounge spots, we stopped for a quick photo in front of the ship.
I always think it is fun to take photos of the cruise ship you board. And to think, ours was considered a small ship!
It wasn’t long before we found the perfect group of chairs below a partly shaded area swarming with palm trees.
And that view! I am confident in saying it speaks for itself…
The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and I could not have been happier than exactly where I was at that moment, Coco Loco in hand.
Complete paradise.
Just when I thought I was as relaxed as can be, Missy suggested we go check out the hammocks we saw in the way in.
I almost forgot how incredibly peaceful laying in a hammock can be. We used to have one at my parents’ house growing up and I can remember spending countless afternoons reading, and even napping with a pillow and blanket close by.
See you in thirty minutes guys, we are hanging here.
When it was almost time to head back to the ship, we wanted to check out what else there was to do on Coco Cay. Besides the nature trails, the island has added a few elements that really enticed me.
Island water obstacle course anyone?
That course had Scott’s name all over it.
It is a shame we found it so late, because I know I was not the only one who wanted to see how far and fast they could get through it.
Just around the corner from the course ended our path, which dead ended into a giant water slide! Apparently “free slide for the bachelorette?” in the form of a question entered our bride right in line.
Whoo! It looked so fun.
We wrapped up the afternoon strolling along the beach and eventually made our way back to the ship. There are times where I still picture myself here…
… and then I realize it isn’t beautiful beaches I am surround by, it is towers of boxes and a disaster of a house! 😉
Final Night On Board
After a shower and a few minutes to rest (<-from resting?) we got ready for our final night on the ship.
There was a “Love & Marriage Game Show” calling to us and it turned out to be pretty entertaining. There were three couples picked to interview on stage: a newlywed couple, a couple who have been married for ten years, and another that had been married for over thirty-four!
It was hysterical. The cruise coordinator emceeing the shows was actually funny and quick on his feet with just the right amount of harassment embarrassment connected to his comments.
I could not help but wonder how Scott would have answered some of those questions. Thank goodness this trip was for the ladies!
After the show we had the best dinner selection yet, and I left the dining room one full, happy cruiser.
To top the entire trip off, we ended the cruise with a very “adult” and somewhat questionable Scavenger Hunt. We broke up into teams and had to complete a series of embarrassing acts to get a point.
The final round was, well… a bit ridiculous. Ridiculous, but funny enough to capture from afar.
Our bride was lovin’ it!
Spending three full days at sea was the perfect getaway in the middle of the madness of moving going on over here. We are supposed to go on another for my 10 Year High School Reunion this coming May, and I am hoping we are able to still make the trip down for it.
In the mean time…
We’ll still jammin’ at Missy’s wedding, just under two weeks away!

Aww!!!! Loved reading this and re-living all the fun we had! Cannot wait to see you all in less than 2 weeks! I cannot believe our third and final musketeer is getting married!!!
Thanks Britt! I know… can’t believe how soon the wedding will be here! 🙂
