Who’s ready to party? (Clearly, this girl.)
If there is something new to open, Aspen is always first in line to investigate. A few weeks ago, I received a box full of health and fitness goodies, and she couldn’t wait for me to jump in and give them a try.
Some of you might remember me introducing Bulu Box on the blog back in May. As an Ambassador for the brand, you can expect to see me share boxes full of surprise products with you over the next few months.
What’s Bulu Box?
If you are into what’s new in the vitamin and supplement world and would like to sample products before you buy the full (and sometimes expensive) versions, Bulu Box might just make your life easier.
Bulu works with a large list of well-known brands that supply them with sample sizes of their newest and most popular products on the market. They send out a handful of trial products on a monthly basis, and each box is packed with variety.
Let’s see what they’ve got up there sleeves this time…
As promised, here’s more information on how the box works.

June Product Breakdown
By order of appearance in the video:
1. PowerIce – (retails at $12.99/10 bars)
(Electrolyte Popsicle) Electrolytes and energy to power you through your workout. Comes frozen to cool the body before and during exercise to keep it at a normal state, increasing performance and endurance.
YUM! Loved this one. Tasted just like I thought it would – frozen Gatorade. I love the idea of frozen energy before a workout. It feels like a treat I would actually look forward to!
2. Gu Energy Strawberry Chomps – (retails at $28.99/16 packets)
(Workout Fuel) Chews with a blend of electrolytes, antioxidants and amino acids to help you power through the day as well as in the gym. Comes in various flavors.
If you watched the video, you already know my deal with Gu products. I love them, but my body does not like the effects of taking a full serving at a time. I liked the taste of the Strawberry Chews, and my stomach seemed to do just fine with eating a few of them before a run. It might be mental, but I have to admit the run was over before I knew it and I felt energized the entire time.
3. Shapeology Burn Blend – (retails at $39.99/60 capsules)
(Metabolism Booster) Using clinically proven weight loss ingredients, Shapeology mimics the effects of high metabolism to help you lose weight fast. It has a liquid delivery system, which means you can feel it working immediately.
Honestly, I am not all that into any form of a diet pill. With auditions coming up, the thought of a high metabolic burn intrigued me so I gave it a go, but only took two pills a day instead of four. I did have an upped appetite, which made it seem like it’s working… but then I just felt like I wanted to eat more! Not sure how I feel about this one.
4. Thera-Gesic – (retails at $6.99/5 oz. tube)
(Achy Muscle Relief) An easy to apply cream to relieve muscle aches and stiffness. This formula is said to absorb faster and more efficiently than the leading pain reliever creams. Greaseless and non-staining.
LOVE any kind of muscle relief cream. This one heated up more than any other brand I have tried before. I used it under my shirt and didn’t notice any staining, either. Definitely something I will look out for in the future!
5. Twin Lab Power Fuel – (retails at $38.59/40 servings)
(Workout Booster) Power Fuel will produce your best workouts with nonstop energy, intensified focus and unyielding power.
I had mixed feelings about this one. At first, I liked the taste. Then I let Scott try it, and he is convinced it tastes like soap. I guess that kind of ruined it for me, because the rest of it did not taste as pleasant to me.
Granted, I used it in a HUGE water bottle, and it recommends to mix the powder with a 8-12 oz. bottle of water. Regardless of taste, I did notice I was extremely focused on my workout that day.
6. EatGreetTea – (retails at $19.99/30 day supply)
(Edible Super Antioxidants) Grown organic, EatGreenTea can help revamp your diet and keep your system clear of harmful free radicals. Just 1 tablespoon of organic leaves increases antioxidant intake by almost 10,000%!
I really wanted to put this one to the test. There are plenty of recipes listed on their website with ideas on how to effortlessly use the leaves in your every day diet, but I really wanted to get a gage on what the leaves taste like.
Instead of making a recipe, I sprinkled them on top of a large serving of low-fat cottage cheese. I used the entire packet, which now I realize I should have probably only used about 1/3 of it.
When used properly, I think these leaves are a great idea. I wish I had time to bake with them. Maybe I can give them another shot down the road…
If the idea of the box doesn’t do anything for you, I hope something in it caught your eye this month.
Happy 1 Year, Bulu Box! Hope you had a great month of celebrating.
To close, here is one of my favorite Bulu quotes:
“Make today ridiculously awesome!”
