Hi friends!
I have another workout for you today, courtesy of this guy right here.
Somebody was extra ancy and sniff happy last night, which might have cut our run outside a little short. I definitely lost my patience with tugging and steering him back on course. He used to be great at staying on path, but every now and then he gets in a mood of wanting to do everything but run where he’s supposed to. It’s delightful.
(No Equipment Needed) Booty Burner Workout
Instead of our normal loop through the trails, we stuck to sidewalks and came in just before three miles. Feeling like I wanted more of a workout for the day, I had a focus on the back end and quickly put together the following booty burner workout.
After three times through it, my legs and glutes certainly felt on fire!
Video References
• plie squats – I like the barre style!
• jump splits – (split lunge jumps)
• seated side leg lifts – little pulses (and I like to flex my foot.)
• bridges
Here is my favorite stretch to do after working these areas. I spent a good ten minutes stretching after that hitting all the major areas. Please don’t forget to do the same!
Dinner
After I got myself nice and sore, I went straight for the refrigerator for my lettuce wrap leftovers. I met Scott at bd’s Mongolian Grill earlier for lunch and almost forgot how much I love that place.
For those of you who haven’t been before, you basically create your own dinner. You pick a meat (or skip it), veggies, starches and spices and they throw it on the kitchen burner right in the middle of the restaurant and cook it for you.
If you are one to get easily overwhelmed (like I am), they have helpful recipe cards you can reference. I used the “Lettuce Eat Vegetarian” as inspiration and put chicken (instead of tofu), broccoli, corn, green onions, snap peas, and green peppers in my bowl with a side of Mongolian Ginger sauce and chopped garlic. It came with brown rice and I also asked the waitress for lettuce wraps.
It was delicious and this was just my leftovers. I also consumed a ton of raspberries and an unpictured glass of unsweetened almond milk for dessert.
Breakfast
I continued face diving into raspberries for breakfast this morning, by using them as my fruit topping on today’s gluten free waffles.
Van’s Gluten Free Apple Cinnamon waffles, Fage Greek yogurt (cherry + peach!), and fresh raspberries and blackberries.
Now I’m off to start thinking about lunch!
Question of the Day
• Do you ever run outside with your dog?
• If so, do you have any tips to cut back on the fifty sniff and potty breaks?
Hillary
definitely looks like a booty burner alright!
Heather
I’m definitely walking a little differently today… 😉
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
I take our lab running sometimes. I just stopped stopping for him. So, if he tried to stop, I just kept going and pulled him along. Sure, it made things a little interesting at times, but he got the idea and now he rarely stops. 😉 Looks like a great workout!
Heather
I try to do that with Roadie but he’s so much stronger than he looks! I hate tugging at him. I need to just do it though. Thanks!
Alisha's Appetite
I’ve tried to take my dog running but he just wants to smell and “claim” his spot every 2 seconds so I’ve resorted to running solo and just taking him on walks.
Heather
I wish there was an off button for that!

I always forget about donkey kicks and side lifts, but they really do pack a good punch. I love/hate that concentrated booty burn!
