I have two things to share with you today.
One is this delicious fruity protein smoothie I made last night for dinner and again this afternoon for lunch.
It was that easy and dreamy. The protein powder I used was Deisgner Whey Luscious Strawberry and it was really, really good. I’m sure you could create something similar with any kind of vanilla powder, but I enjoyed the extra sweetness I could tell came from the strawberry.
Also, I recently received a question about how to measure out my “1 scoop” of protein powder in my recipes. In the last handful of smoothies, I have used the same one serving size scoop that holds 28 g. So, I would say 1 serving = 28 grams of protein powder. I hope this helps!
Second is something pretty neat from my friends over at Reebok. If you have been following the blog for a while, then you already know I have an ongoing partnership with them to review new inventory and share my thoughts with you guys.
This month, I had the opportunity to create my very own pair of customized sneakers using the YourReebok page. This page allows you to customize your own pair of Reebok shoes in a variety of styles, colors, and personalization options to make them truly yours!
The site was really easy to navigate, and I started the process by simply selecting “Women”. I played around with different styles for a few minutes, then ended up selecting the CrossFit Nano Speed sneaker to make my own. It’s been my favorite review so far as an overall versatile sneaker I can wear for almost anything, including dance practices.
The first this you choose is whether to start from scratch or customize an already existing design.
Those who know me will agree that I am not the most decisive person out there. I am notorious for going back and forth on minor decisions, even on something as simple as where to meet a friend for lunch. When it comes to selecting something that offers options upon options (i.e. designing your own shoe style and coloring) my perfectionist tendencies take over and I could easily spend hours making a final selection.
Just for fun, I started from scratch to see what I would come up with.
My favorite option had to be the personalized logo option on the back. You can make it say whatever you want in seven or less characters!
After an hour of going back and forth between an obnoxiously colorful and bright shoe to the opposite extreme of a black and white design, I finally came up with a sneaker perfectly suited to me.
I am going to wait to debut the exact design when the shoes arrive at my doorstep, but for now I can at least tell you that I ended up using an original design to at least help me coordinate a color theme.
Starting with colors already set and then substituting them for others (red where there’s blue, grey where there’s yellow, etc.) made it so much easier, and the final design came out looking well thought out and put together.
My order is placed and the shoes should be arriving in the next four to six weeks, just in time for the holidays. You know what I am looking forward to just as much as getting these new sneakers? Hosting a giveaway for YOU to customize a pair of your own too!
As a thank you for tuning in today, you guys get a heads up to keep a lookout for this giveaway ($125 value!) around mid-December, courtesy of Reebok.
All right… looks like it’s time for me to boogie. I had plans to get in a trip to the gym before our final Opening Night halftime rehearsal tonight, but I just might enjoy another workout in the basement instead. I’ll be sure to share anything interesting tomorrow. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Love the design you made! Mine would be covered in purple, and maybe a little hot pink! The monogram is the best part though. I can’t eve think of what I would choose. Too many options!

Love purple and pink! There really are too many options. I had to even ask Scott for his help at the end. 😉

Wow! This is so cool! I tried to play around with the Reebok website, but my work browser seems to be really out of date lol, so I’ll have to wait until I get home 🙂 It looks like so much fun! Can’t wait to see the shoe design you came up with! xoxo
