Holy moly, July went by so fast I am just now getting to a post I wanted to tackle a few weeks ago! It is officially August, but since I wore this in the beginning of July, I’m going to go ahead and label it that way on the Fashion Page.
No need to question it. 😉
As we all pretty much know by now, my fashion posts have been a bit on the light side over the past few months. In an attempt to show you don’t have to spend a lot of money to write about fashion, here goes a post all about using your resources and changing out accessories to make up a variety of outfits using the same main dress.
I wore this outfit the Lady Bloggers Meet Up back in mid-July. Since then I have already re-worn this outfit once, and then changed up the accessories to wear it again. I told you – it is a strict budget people.
Dress: Silence & Noise Tradewinds Dress by Urban Outfitters
Sandals: Nine West
Jewelry: Mish mosh of very old pieces… sorry. I will get into accessories in a minute.
My favorite part of this dress is the cut out in the back. Below is a closer look of it as well as the print detail.
Although I can not help you out on the jewelry, I have supplied plenty of casual and dressier options available for purchase below.
I just love embellished flats. I remember when these really became popular a few years ago, which seemed to be the death of the standard flip flop. For two years in a row, my sister bought me a nice pair of gold ones (seen here) and black ones from Nine West for my birthday. I don’t think you can get the exact designs I own anymore, but here is a similar flat sandal that comes in black, silver and gold.
Being on a tight shopping budget lately, I have really been forced to get creative with my purchases and think of ways to wear pieces more than one way. My favorite dresses, skirts and blouses I have bought lately can either be dressed down for something as casual as a brunch date and dressed up for a night out the town.
The Silence & Noise Tradewinds Dress pictured above is a perfect example of a fun print and material that can be worn either way.
Two easy ways to change your entire look is with a variety of shoes and accessories.
Let’s start with shoes. I would love to own every single pair listed below, and any one of them would give the dress a different overall look.
Oh hey, do you like my fancy black cord in the background in this picture? Super classy. I very strategically edited it out of the first photo, but it did not look half as good edited out of this one.
You just scrolled back up to look, didn’t you? 😉
Moving onto an accessory I don’t have nearly enough of: necklaces. If I could, I really would own a gagillion of them. From everyday pendants to fashion statement pieces, I love the look of neck jewelry, but tend to go for a fun earring or bracelet first.
Attempting to step up my accessories wardrobe, here are a few pieces I hope to purchase in the near future that can easily dress this outfit up or down.
J’adore. All of it.
Questions of the Day
• How do you change up your outfits to re-wear a unique patterned dress?
• What is your favorite look? A dressy sandal, a wedge, or pump?
I have really been drawn into wedges lately. They seem to be able to go with anything and have proven to be comfortable. At the moment I am on the search for the perfect nude wedge, and I will be sure to report back when I find it!
