Oh boy, do I have something fashionably fun to share with you today!
But we’ll get to the details in just a minute. *Tease*
We’re officially back in game season, folks. If you are a regular around here, then you’ve already heard all about the events and madness going on in our lives right now. It’s crazy. Once summer ends and October rolls around, we’re released into a world of long nights, no-such-thing as weekends Saturdays and Sundays, and outings to attend almost daily.
I often joke that this type of lifestyle is not for the weak. Dancing is a “part-time job”, yes, but I have always said it is a full-time commitment. My days, nights, and weekends now revolve around a basketball court and representing it in our community at all times (hence my now unpredictable posting time every day). Welcome to it!
I spent the majority of today catching up on some work and going through emails. I have just enough time to fit in an afternoon run around the neighborhood before getting ready for tonight’s game BUT after how sore I felt during the last game, I’m going to rain check it until tomorrow. I’m sure my legs will thanks me.
Instead, let’s quickly recap today’s eats! Breakfast was something most of you have seen here before… a bowl of Nature’s Path Pumpkin Raisin Crunch. Alone or topped with fresh fruit, it’s just too good not to eat and bring up again. So I did.
I enjoyed another bowl of fresh berries (same mid-morning snack as yesterday) and wasn’t kidding when I mentioned I could keep refilling this and eating it all day long thing, either.
Give me all the berries.
I am finishing up lunch as I type with a turkey and vegetable wrap made out of Tuesday’s monster salad leftovers.
When putting those together I always make sure to have extras to put on the side or in something for the next few meals. The whole wheat Smart & Delicious Low-Carb tortilla is fiber packed and makes any wrap just a little more filling. I wrapped it tight, dipped it into a side of Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and enjoyed every single bite!
Violet Love Headband Giveaway
I was contacted a few weeks ago by a custom printed headband and clothing company. After scrolling through the blog, they caught on to the fact that I am fan of big headbands, as I wear them often on runs and in group fitness classes.
Violet Love was started by Rebecca Michaels, a former engineer, when she couldn’t find a headband to fit what she was looking for. She created Violet Love headbands, which are all LA-made, PETA-Vegan approved and eco friendly. They are no slip, no headache headbands which makes them perfect for running, yoga or anything in between!
Although I haven’t tried these running yet, I have a feeling they will be perfect for my secret earbud trick.
So far, I have been loving the patterned prints that spice up my every day yoga/lounge/dance wear.
I don’t know about you… but when I put on adorable yoga gear, I instantly want to put it to use and practice.
(Don’t mind the awkwardness of trying to hold the camera and the pose.)
I will be sure to report how these headbands hold up during workouts, but for now can share how soft, stretchy, and fun they are to wear anywhere. They are loose enough to prevent headaches, but just tight enough to comfortably stay in place.
While I really don’t want to part with any I was so generously sent, I have some good news for those interested. One lucky Housewife Glamour reader will win two Violet Love headbands in Pigeon and Wild Thing!
(Retail Value: $34)
