Hello, hello! I hope you have all had a great start to your Hump Day.
Thank you for all the help in the comments section yesterday. I ended up keeping the dresses and returning everything else, since I know I can find similar items at more affordable prices. I appreciate your input and contributions towards my random fashion challenge every month!
I have the day off from the gym today, so I am definitely enjoying a looser schedule while working at home and plowing through some to-dos. It also feels good to get back to a little food recapping for What I Ate Wednesday.
(And just to throw this out there…)
What I Ate Wednesday features an entire day of my unfiltered eats. In no way do I change what I eat just for the sake of documenting it. While I try to be mindful with portions, I don’t count calories. I do, however, take into account how much activity I am going to be doing that day, and I plan my meals and snacks accordingly.
What I Ate
My morning started with an old favorite that involved chocolate for breakfast.
That’s always a win, right?
Remember our talk on gluten earlier this week? I love Ezekiel bread and make sure to keep it in the refrigerator or freezer. Not all flavors are fully gluten-free, but they are flourless and low-glycemic, which really helps with bloating and digestion.
My favorite flavor is the cinnamon raisin, which also happens to be vegan! Good stuff.
I pulled a classic move of forgetting to pack a lunch or eat a snack before it was time to head out to work a shift at the gym, so I grabbed whatever I could on the way out the door to hold me over for a few hours.
I was already hungry on my drive over, so I dug into a Clif Crunch granola bar right away. You guys… they legitimately taste like perfectly thin and crispy cookies. Huge fan over here!
(The White Chocolate Macadamia Nut flavor is where it’s at.)
I worked a solid three hours before I got a chance to eat again. I had just enough of a break to work out, so I knew I needed some kind of snack for fuel to get me through.
I grabbed a Fill, Shake & Go bottle About Time sent me, filled it with water, and pretty much chugged it about ten minutes before I hit the gym floor.
It was good, but I think I’ll add almond milk next time to thicken it up. I also pulled out a handful of green grapes for an extra carb and sugar boost!
I completed a full workout I made up for a client the week before, and finished it off with a set of tabata sprints on the bike. It was killer!
(Oh hey, slideboard… you’re a fun one.)
I quickly changed and walked over to Tropical Smoothie for a long overdue lunch soon after.
Thai salad with just a drizzle of dressing
I liked the salad, but I stayed away from using most of the dressing due to its sodium content (1113 mg). Yikes!
My client walked in the door as soon as I finished cleaning up, and I wrapped up my day at the gym around 6:30 p.m.
Scott and I had previously talked about going out to a casual dinner to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, so I drove home, changed my shirt, sprayed some body perfume and off we went!
(I’ll be the first to point out that Scott’s cinco peek-through is pretty creepy. Just accept it.)
We made the short drive over to Downtown Rochester to dine at one of our very favorite Mexican restaurants, Rojo.
We expected the line to be out the door, which it was, so we put our names in and were happy to run into some friends at the bar and chat until our table was ready. In the spirit of the holiday, we also ordered round of margaritas.
Scott went for a regular marg, while I asked for the skinny. No surprises there. Cheers to cinco!
After forty-five minutes, our bellies were more than ready for the crave-worthy complimentary chips and salsa after we sat down.
Considering we each ate a basket of corn chips dipped in their freshly-made salsa, it only made sense to split an entrée order of chicken and steak fajitas for dinner.
That served to be plenty, and we even had a box leftover for me to heat up for lunch today in…
3… 2… 1… faceplant. No dessert necessary!
