Good morning and a very Happy Friday to you!
I’m still smiling about last week’s favorites celebration. You guys truly are the best. <3
As soon as I publish this post, Scott and I will be packing up and heading over to Chicago to celebrate the wedding of two dear friends later tonight. I am really looking forward to seeing some familiar (Orlando & Chicago) faces, and I can’t wait for the weekend of festivities to begin!
I’ll be sure to share the highlights, but for now, let’s move right along and into this week’s edition of Friday Favorites.
I love sharing some of my finds with y’all, and am so glad you like to read them every single week. If you are a blogger, make sure to look for the blue Inlinkz button at the bottom and link up your own #FFavorites posts too!
Friday Favorites #101: Week of 8/7
• Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm
I don’t know why it took me so long to finally give a try. I have heard people talk about them and have seen the different colors and packages near check out lines, but they have never really peaked my interest until a trip into yesterday.
I wasn’t sure the shade would be something I could wear every day, but I certainly can. It’s not dramatic at all, and I absolutely love the built in moisture with a touch of color!
• easy chai tea lattes
Scott brought this Oregon Chai Tea Latte Concentrate home the other day. I’m not sure where he got it from (I’m guessing our new favorite local health food store, Fresh Thyme), but you can also grab it .
This mixture makes a morning (or afternoon) cup of fancy tea extremely easy to make. Simply add milk, heat up, or serve over ice. I love that this mix is made with all natural ingredients, it is certified organic, and the container makes enough for 8 lattes. Easy peasy!
• Hozier
I’m not always in the mood for extremely slow coffee house music, but I have been especially drawn to Hozier lately. Earlier this week, I shared my new love for From Eden. I also can’t get enough of Someone New. I love the variety of sounds and instruments that show up in his songs, and could honestly listen to his tracks all day long.
And thanks to Spotify, you can. I love it!
• Champion GEAR
I recently received this adorable Champion GEAR running outfit courtesy of Sports Authority. They are featuring a new Champion line special to the store. Their goal is to create top-of-the-line athletic apparel at affordable prices.
Women’s Seamless Novelty Tank & Women’s Woven Running Shorts with Brief
Any run this time of year requires a moisture-wicking top for me to feel as cool and dry as possible. The Novelty Tank is extremely lightweight, chafe resistant, and includes a hidden motivational message on the inside.
The shorts are quickly turning into my most worn pair. I love the lightweight (moisture-wicking) mesh material and ventilation. Both pieces featured above are now available for under $25 per piece online!
And, Sporty Authority is currently offering free shipping and an additional 20% off all orders over $49. Get on it!
• popsicles & slushies
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… summertime just screams ice cream, slushies, and popsicles to me. Scott and I took a short trip up to our neighborhood Dairy Treat the other night, and I had the hardest time choosing what to order. I wanted all the ice cream things.
Eventually, I decided on a glacier, which consists of a flavored slush (I got Piña Colada) with floating ice cream in the middle. Um, yes please.
I couldn’t believe how packed it was! Apparently, Dairy Treat is the place to be on a weeknight in the Rochester Hills area. I am looking forward to trying more throughout the summer, and I hope we can bring Roadie for a free pup cup sooner than later.
I’ve also been really into making my own ice pops lately.
They’re so easy, and have quickly turned into my go-to snack during hot summer afternoons!
• cantaloupe
I don’t think cantaloupe gets enough love, y’all. I’ll admit that I am one of those people who requests a fruit bowl without melons when dining out for breakfast, but it’s only because berries are my jam. (Pun intended?)
Anyways, I almost forgot how good cantaloupe can be when it’s soft and rich with color.
I used two cups of it in the popsicles you see above, and have been enjoying picking at the leftovers all week long. Yum!

Happy Friday, Heather! I’m heading off to a wedding this weekend as well. And yay for all of your favorites! That little cotton-ball dog is the best. I used that same lip balm for forever, it’s a classic. Hope you guys have a safe and fun time! 🙂 Thanks for hosting the link-up!

Morgan @ Morgan Manages Mommyhood
I’d probably poo my pants if I saw all those sharks.. and then fall in because I was shaking! That glacier thing.. AMAZING. I need it in my life!!! Wht don’t all ice cream places have that?!??!

Heather
Haha me too! I’m not a big fan of bodies of water outside of pools, and this is a clear example of why 😉
Kylie McGraw
I always order my fruit dishes without melon too, but that’s because I claim honeydew and cantaloupe have no flavor. I must need to try again haha! I wish one of the ice cream shops at the beach last week had a dessert like that glacier you had…that’s the best of both worlds. 🙂 Have fun in Chicago this weekend! Weddings are so exciting!
Heather
A lot of the times they don’t, but every once in a while I’ll find a good pick and wonder why I never eat it! Exactly… there was an ice cream place in Orlando right by our house that had those. I was super addicted to them 😉 Happy Weekend!
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss
I’m ALL about the Baby Lips! Grab the clear one for a really decent chapstick for every day wear, too. 🙂
Also, I buy that Oregon Chai mix at Target. It’s the bomb!

Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
I’m digging those Champion shorts! And the price tag makes them even better! I actually really like cantaloupe too if it’s perfectly ripe, but I don’t hardly ever buy it because Cody is allergic, Hunter isn’t a fan, and I don’t think I could eat an entire one by myself. It’s always a treat when I go over to my parents’ house and my stepmom has one all cut up! But yeah, it doesn’t beat my love for berries… 😉 Thanks for the link-up! Have a fun weekend in Chicago, Girl! xo

Thanks Ashley! I know, I was super excited when I saw the prices. The quality is great! Happy Friday! xo
lifewithniki
I love trying new lip products- something about their packaging makes them look so enticing, especially when they’re ‘flavored’.
I also always forget how amazing melons taste. I think it has to do with the fact that I am pretty lazy when it comes to opening and slicing fruit, but if it is there and cut up then I don’t forget ;).

Haha, I’m the laziest. The worst for me is pineapple! I hate slicing it, but I love how fresh pineapple tastes. #firstworldproblems

I hope you have a wonderful time in Chicago! <3 my home town
Also, I am addicted to Oregon Chai Tea Latte Concentrate – so yummy! They also make a powder mix that is delicious and easy to grab on the go if you're running out somewhere for the day.
And, I love the idea of Inlinkz. I've never seen that before and just linked up my first ever Friday Favorites post 🙂

That is such a cute workout outfit!
I love finding clothes to workout in that aren’t a bazillion dollars 🙂
I’ll have to disagree on cantaloupe. The only melon I like is watermelon.

LOVE Hozier! We listened to him tonight while making dinner actually 🙂 AND had a cantaloupe salad with cucumber and mint. Yum! Oh I so need those storage hacks! I’m always full and it drives me crazy! I also appreciate the short answer about McDreamy. Although I’m still heartbroken I guess it makes a little more sense…
Have a great weekend Heather!
Heather
Yum, that sounds delicious!! You are always coming up with great recipes. I hope you’re having a great week Giselle!

Thanks for posting that Detroit restaurant link! We tried Batch Brewing this weekend and we’ll be returning SOON! It’s one of those amazing new places that I hate to publicize because it’s so good but I’m selfish and don’t want it to become super crowded 🙂 The beer and the food are both outstanding!
Heather
oh yay, I’m so glad you fond it useful. All of those places looked great! We’ll have to keep Batch Brewing in mind, thanks!
