Good morning! Are you just as excited about the weekend as I am?
While I am scheduled to work tomorrow morning, I am looking forward to zero plans for the rest of the day. Scott and I are joining a group of family friends on Sunday for some holiday fun, and I’m pumped to say that I’m not running around like a crazy person rounding up last minute gifts and to-dos for once. I guess I’m finally growing up!
I like to end every week by sharing what I have been loving lately through a series and link-up called Friday Favorites, and this week is no exception. Let’s get right on to the good stuff, and please feel free to play along in the comments and link-up sections below. Happy Friday!
Friday Favorites #120: Week of 12/18
• ugly sweater cookie kit
How fun is this ugly sweater cookie kit?
Scott won it as a prize for one of his cookies at the Cookie Decorating Party we attended last weekend, and I’m looking forward to breaking into it. A Christmas Day cookie decorating activity perhaps?
I do know it was purchased from Five Below, and you can also find it . Oh, and cookies. I had to round this section out by typing “cookies” seven times.
• Bombas
*Spoiler alert*
There’s a Bombas (<- affiliate link) giveaway coming your way very soon!
In the mean time, I will tell you that I have been loving my new Bombas athletic socks, and especially the wool pair shown in front. I’ll be back to share more of the details before you know it.
(Sorry for the tease, I wanted to mention them in case you’re in need of more gift ideas – these socks are where it’s at!)
• 2941 Street Food
Scott and I drove by this restaurant a few weeks ago, and we were excited to stop in and give it a try this week! 2941 Mediterranean Street Food is the new Chipotle of Metro Detroit, you guys. It’s SO good and so fresh. Everything is made to order, and you select every part of your salad, bowl, wrap, or plate as you go down the ordering line.
They have only been open a little over two weeks, and are already doing really well. The owner greeted us as we walked in and explained the concept of the restaurant as well as a thorough overview of all of the specialties and facts about ingredients. I loved that it’s a non-GMO restaurant and only uses cane sugar to sweeten things. Also, the (free) cucumber lemon water is money.
(that bread though…)
We had a hard time deciding what to order, but we ended up splitting the Bazaar meal to sample a little bit of everything. The sauces, dips, and hummus… oh my goodness.
He also told us the meaning of the name: 29N/41E is the Longitude and Latitude for the Mediterranean and Mideast.
Everything was tried was so, so good. The prices were great, so I’m sure this will become a regular spot for us!
• holiday movies
I’ve been on a bit of a holiday movie kick ever since Thanksgiving Weekend. I know… shocking.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen all of the classics on Netflix, but I’m still making my rounds with the others while I finish wrapping gifts and working on the computer at night. Oh, and I finally watched White Christmas for the first time a few weeks ago when my mom was in town. I know, I’m a weirdo. For what it’s worth, I loved it!
• MOD Pizza
This one’s another great restaurant find for my Detroit(ish) readers, but they’re all over the country, too! Have you ever heard of MOD Pizza?
This week has been pretty busy for me at night, so we took it upon ourselves to grab dinner out more than normal. The good news is, we got two made-to-order, customized pizzas for a steal.
I can’t believe I didn’t find MOD Pizza sooner. Once again, it’s fresh, quality food – quick – and totally customizable. Just like you would order a sub from a sandwich shop, you pick your crust, your sauce, your protein, and all the toppings you want for your pizza.
The best part of it all is that you aren’t charged for extra toppings. You can literally put every option on top and be charged the same reasonable price as you would a regular cheese. Genius!
Scott ordered some kind of barbecue chicken combo and I went with my standard chicken and #alltheveggies option on the right. I came seriously close to eating it all in one sitting, too. It’s that good.

Because… is there anything better?
Hardly.

We just got a pizza place that’s really similar to MOD. It’s amazing food and I love that you only pay one price and can get as many toppings as you want. Considering my pizza obsession, I’m super happy to have that place around!

Beth @ Sublimely Fit
Okay, now I’m really hungry after reading this post and seeing all of those food photos, LOL. My hubby and I have been trying to save money by eating at home lately, so I’m especially jealous. Glad you had a great time checking out those restaurants! Loving the hidden box photo. I’ve had that happen to me a few times. We order food for our dogs from Amazon, and we had a bag delivered a few days ago. I was half hoping a thief would think it was something good because it’s heavy and in a big box, and would take it home and discover it’s just dog food.
Hope you have a great weekend, Heather!

Haha, whoops! I know, today’s post was very full of food. We’ve been eating in a lot lately too, so it’s been nice to get out this week. Surprisingly, both places were very affordable! Can’t wait to go back 😉 Too funny about the dog food… really, who steals that stuff… here’s hoping we both get everything that was supposed to be delivered this year. Happy weekend!

And the price is great too! You should totally try the salad and flatbread combo.. It’s the bomb! And yes, I’m totally guilty of being able to eat it in one sitting! Happy Friday!!!!
Heather
I didn’t even look to see if they had gluten-free crust, but I did assume that was the case. It’s good to know it’s good, too! YUM I’m already wanting to go back… 😉 Have a great weekend!
