Happy Friday!
I know I’m looking forward to this weekend … how about you?
We have plans to meet some friends for dinner tonight, but other than that, we’re free to spend our free time at the house packing away after my shift at the gym tomorrow morning. It’s time to get serious!
Since this week went by in the blink of an eye, let’s keep on moving to my favorite series of the week: Friday Favorites. Below is what I have been loving this week, and I always invite you to join in and share what made you smile in the comments and link-up sections, too!
Friday Favorites #133: Week of 3/18
• Artistry Light Up Lip Gloss
We’re kicking things off with a throwback beauty product. I received this Artistry Light Up Lip Gloss from a friend of mine a few years back, but I’m still loving it.
There are two built-in components that sets this line of gloss apart from the rest. One is the mirror on the side, and two is the light! There’s really no need to have to excuse yourself to the restroom after dinner, because there is a light and mirror to reapply your gloss right in front of you. It’s genius!
Pictured is Glitz (left) and Champagne (right). I’ll bring them both along in my purse and bust them out from time to time. Everyone is always intrigued by the light. As cool as it is, I love the peppermint flavor, too. It’s a great product!
• St. Patrick’s Day
Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day! Did any of you celebrate? Scott and I kept things low key this year. We usually go all out by either going out and/or cooking a traditional Irish meal at home (usually corned beef and cabbage), but we took it easy this time.
I did, however, enjoy the ambiance at the gym. We had green lights surrounding the floor!
I worked until about 9 p.m. last night and got a text from Scott soon after. He was longing to honor the holiday with an Irish meal, so we went up the street to a casual spot advertising just that.
Scott ordered a Guinness beer with corned beef and cabbage, and I ordered a beef stew with a black cherry hard cider. My drink wasn’t Irish, but it was delicious.

• Burt’s Bees exfoliating facial towelettes
I know I’ve featured facial cleaning towelettes on the blog before, and I’m going to continue doing so because they’re that awesome to me. My latest obsession comes in a golden yellow package, and I found it in the organics aisle at the grocery store. Another Burt’s Bees product for the win!
These offer the perfect amount of texture for exfoliation at the end of a long, hard day. They’re not too harsh, yet scrub just enough. I love the refreshing spa-like scent, too. I’ll definitely be buying them again.
• gift cards
One good thing about going through every nook and cranny of your home is finding hidden treasures. My latest find is a stack of gift cards, including some that need to be used up before we move. We have one that will be going towards dinner tonight, so I’m pretty pumped.
Hesington date nights … here we come!
• Siberian Fir candle
This one is totally random, and yes, I realize we aren’t anywhere near the holiday season. That said, I found this K. Hall Studio Siberian Fir candle in our stash of them in a kitchen cabinet last week, and decided that I had nothing to lose by enjoying it.
The print looks Christmas-y, but it gives off a rich, sweet balsam scent that is wonderful in the winter and refreshing in the summer. You can find this scent in all different types of containers here and here. A new favorite for sure!
• Wyland photo
This one might also seem odd, but I have been loving Scott’s hand-signed Wyland picture he finally got framed. Scott has always had an appreciation for sea life (he has a degree in Zoology! <- random fact of the day), and we always try to seek out the famous Wyland Walls in the cities he’s painted the murals. Detroit is one of them!
While he usually sticks to areas near water, the artist painted one right in the heart of the D to honor his hometown of Madison Heights. They’re very impressive and bring awareness to the importance of keeping our oceans clean in order to fight marine life extension.
Anyways, Scott’s father was relocated to Hawaii for a few years and brought a hand-signed picture of a Wyland painting back with him as a gift. He’s treasured it ever since!
(Excuse the poor photo quality. It’s hung in a dark area where I had to turn a bright light on and capture it at a weird angle.) We may not be taking everything with us to our next home, but I know this piece of art will make the cut!

Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
FIRST LINK! ahahah I don’t think that’s ever happened. Woohoo! I didn’t do anything for St. Patty’s at all, sadly. Dave went to dinner with our friends, but I had too much to do and worked late, so I missed. 🙁 And as far as finding gift cards? That is a dream! ENJOY! Gift-card spending is way better than real spending hehe. Hope your weekend is productive, friend. Eager to hear your plans for the big move! THINKING of you:)

YAY! Haha, any time you get close to the top (thanks to the time difference), it probably means that I’m slacking or I was too tired after work on Thursday to finish my favorites before turning in. Whoops. Bummer about missing out on St. Patty’s, but you probably saved yourself from a green beer headache! 😉 Thanks friend, I am eager to share more news soon! xo
Morgan @ Morgan Manages Mommyhood

Beth @ Sublimely Fit
Oh my gosh, Scott and I should hang out and we can talk animals! I have a ton of ocean-themed prints that I collected after doing research on marine critters for both my MS and PhD. I love having artwork that reflects who we are. And congrats on the gift card jackpot! Looks like you’ll be able to have a couple of nice evenings out. 🙂 Hope you have an amazing weekend!

That’s awesome, Beth! Yes, it sounds like you two would definitely get along. I guess that explains why we have a small farm at home… 2 cats and a dog! We’re both big animal lovers. Whoops. 😉 Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday! How awesome was that lighting at your gym! We kept St. Patty’s day low key this year too. I’ve heard great things about those facial wipes. I think I’ll have to give them a try. Score on finding those gift cards!! What a nice surprise. Enjoy your weekend 🙂 Beautifully Candid

It’s usually a pink/red color, so it’s always nice to see something different. Holidays are so fun!

The color of that lipgloss is so perfect!!
Susie @ SuzLyfe
ARG I want more details… but I guess I will have to wait. Finding all of those gift cards is like after Alex and I combined our things when we moved to Chicago and we needed to buy a lot of stuff. It was like, What can I get for $17.03 from x and $42.89 from y? I am scared of what we will discover when we pack and move apartments in a few months. Happy Friday!

Ooh I’ll have to check out those facial cleansing wipes. I use Simple’s micellar water ones right now and love them. I like the idea of having exfoliation though.
I love St. Patty’s day and everything green, but I actually hate Irish food. Something about all the cabbage lol.

We didn’t do anything for St. Patrick’s Day, other than sit on the couch and watch House of Cards (so obsessed!). I love that you guys got an Irish meal and that your gym put up green lights!!! I need to try those Burt’s Bees towelettes, some nights I’m just way too lazy to take makeup off and would rather use one of those than actually wash 🙂
