Hi everyone, Happy Friday!
It’s been a busy week over here, but I’m so glad I was able to pop in to the blog more often with a few posts this week. I really do miss chatting with you guys on the regular.
Winding down the week, today’s topic is all about the things I’ve been loving this week and features handful of products and outings that I want to share with you. As always, I invite y’all to comment and share Friday Favorites below, and – bloggers – don’t forget to link your post up below, too!
I’ll be working a lot this weekend, but I’m also looking forward to unscheduled nights that will include plenty of time to relax and get ready for a visit from my mom next week. Hope you guys have a great weekend, and thanks for checking in!
(Also, make sure to check out the Bombas giveaway!)
Friday Favorites #190: Week of 11/17
• Bombas socks + Giveaway
My favorite brand of athletic socks has been Bombas us ever since I was introduced to them back in 2015.
It’s almost time to replace the collection I have acquired, as I have almost run holes in all of my pairs by wearing them on the regular day in and day out. They have a great variety of ankle socks, no show socks, tall socks, and (new!) over the knee socks. I was so delighted when the brand reach out to me and offered to send me some of their new releases to start a replacement collection.
Bombas made major improvements to the standard athletic sock, including a Performance Footbed for extreme comfort, a Blister Tab to prevent annoying (and painful) rubbing and chafing, a Honeycomb Support System to distribute pressure evenly, and the Invisitoe, a hand-linked toe system to eliminate bumps that run across the toes.
They’re super comfortable to wear around the house and supportive enough to get me through any workout — an overall win!
Women’s Random Feed Marls Ankle Sock
What’s even cooler about the Bombas brand is that every time we buy a pair of socks, they donate a pair to a place in need. Find out more about that here. After I fell in love with them, I insisted that Scott try the men’s collection as well, and he just asked me to order him several more pairs a month or so ago. He loves them just as much and even tries to steal mine from time to time.
*GIVEAWAY*
If you’re looking to try Bombas for yourself, leave a comment on his post sharing what kind of socks you would like to try most! One lucky LIL reader will be randomly chosen next week and win 4 pairs of Bombas socks!
Also, make sure to take advantage of getting 20% off your first order by using the discount code: LIFEINLEGGINGS20. (And keep an eye out for another giveaway coming soon!)
• The Giving Key
Have you ever heard about The Giving Keys?
A few of my friends have them back and Michigan, but I hadn’t really seen them again since we left. When we were shopping around Nashville a few weekends ago, I stumbled upon a collection of The Giving Keys. I left the store only to return back to it and finally go buy one for myself.
It’s a great concept that starts with you buying your own key with a specific phrase on it that becomes your mantra. When you feel like you fit fill that and ready to pass it on to someone who you think needs to do the same, you give it to them. Not only are they cute, it’s a gift with a lot of heart. And even better, the company helps employ those transitioning out of homelessness. (Find out more here!)
You can find them online, at retailers across the country, and local boutique shops.
• New York Knicks Basketball Game (date night)
I always hesitate to make evening plans during the week because I’m either working or enjoying much-needed rest at home to prepare for the next workday. After Scott asked if I wanted to go to the New York Knicks game with me, I asked if he wanted to take a friend instead, then decided that we should just make it a date night and go have a fun night out. (There’s only so many nights we can do this before we need a babysitter, right?)
Our friend Shawn works for the team and graciously offered us two suite tickets to enjoy for the evening. We had a wonderful time and took advantage of the VIP treatment that included free meals, drinks, and snacks the entire time.
It was fun to see the Arena decorated for the holidays, and I couldn’t resist taking a bump photo next to the giant basketball ornament on the way out.
Thanks again for the tickets, Shawn, we had a blast!
• Tom’s of Maine natural products
Something that really made me smile this week was an unexpected gift from one of our members who works for Colgate. She’s always so sweet and talkative, and brought me a thoughtful gift of toothpaste, body wash, and soap from the Tom’s of Maine brand.
She brought some of my other employees Colgate products, but figured that I would prefer the natural brand of necessities while expecting a baby. She was right. The entire line is free from artificial colors, flavors, fragrances, preservatives, and animal testing. I’ve been using the body wash and toothpaste all week, and I absolutely love the scents.
You can find Tom’s of Maine at retailers like Whole Foods, Zulily, and Walgreens. (Thank you, Song-Chu!)
• Dekalb Market Hall – Brooklyn
I think I found a new routine for Sundays that I want to stick to. Since Scott travels almost every weekend now, I haven’t been commuting into the City to attend church, so I’ve been streaming services from our home church in Orlando instead. After that, I take Roadie for a quick walk and then attend a workout at Orangetheory. (I’ll be working the next two Sundays in a row, so I won’t be able to work out, but I hope to still keep some of the tradition while I can.)
After a shower last Sunday, I was talking to my staff about going to the new Target in Downtown Brooklyn, and they asked if I was going to go to Dekalb Market Hall. I had no idea what they’re talking about, and I’m so glad that they encouraged me to go check it out!
The market is located at City Point (directly under Target and next to a Trader Joe’s), and is has something for everyone and every tastebud. There are rows and rows of different choices for fresh food and unique meals that you would find at a food truck festival, all indoors. Think of a high-end food court, but in a really cool and trendy basement.
I’m hoping to return to the market with Scott, as I know he always loves exploring new things to do in NYC.
The market is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for something great to eat!

Lori
Ooh, would love to try Bombas socks. Ankle or calf – either one. On my feet a lot educating about and working with Florida black bears, and dog training with the rest of my time. Been searching for a new type of sock. Thanks for a discount code to try them!
So happy for you and Scott. Love getting to follow you from your First Baptist days. Been a rough road. God is good.

If Bombas has any socks that help prevent sweaty feet from 1. getting sweaty and 2. getting cold from being sweaty, that would be fabulous and I’d be willing to give them a shot.
