Happy Friday! I, for one, am super excited about the upcoming weekend.
There are a couple of nighttime plans scheduled onto our calendars, but from what I can tell, the days are free and open. That’s always something to look forward to.
We’ve still got a full day to get through, but Friday night is just around the corner. Let’s celebrate by rolling right into this week’s highlights in the form of Friday Favorites!
Every week, I share what I have been loving or what made me smile, and I invite you to share your favorites in the comments and link up sections below. Party on!
Friday Favorites #81: Week of 3/20
• Maroon 5 concert
I can’t help but to start this edition of #FFavorites with my favorite outing of all this week… going to see Maroon 5!
I have been obsessed with Maroon 5 and their music since my college years. Their Songs About Jane album takes me right back to high school and college days when I constantly played it on repeat! Isn’t their music (and Adam Levine’s voice) the best? I sure think so.
On an impulse decision, Scott purchased tickets for us and two friends to sit in the fourth row! Since I was coming from work and wasn’t planning on going until the last minute, I hurried home as fast as I could to change and arrived at the arena just in time to meet our group and catch the second opener, Magic!
They were great, and were a wonderful surprise to walk into. As expected, they closed their set with Rude and had the entire crowd on their feet! It was the closest any of us had ever sat at a major concert, and we were absolutely pumped for the main event.
Around 9:30 p.m., Maroon 5 came on and got right into a strong set of familiar songs, both old and new.
Adam was so close to us! I don’t always get embarrassingly crazy about bands and lead singers, but when I do, it’s over Maroon 5 and Adam Levine. You guys. His extremely sexy falsetto voice is even dreamier in person!
All of us stood on our feet throughout the entire concert and had a blast dancing around and singing our hearts out.
Besides jamming out to the music, I have two favorite concert memories. One was when he unashamedly grabbed his neon pink (and another neon green one later on) guitar and rocked out with the band…
The other was when Adam and the lead guitarist, James Valentine, moved to the center of the arena and asked everyone to put their phones away. He literally instructed every single fan to put their phones down and enjoy an acoustic version of She Will Be Loved. Not wanting to be “that person”, everyone listened to the birthday boy (it was Adam’s birthday!), and it was such a cool and intimate few minutes!
If you ever get the chance to see Maroon 5 live, take it. I have paid to see them three times in concert now, and it just keeps getting better every time. Swoon!
• Quiznos
I am so, so thankful for a Quiznos within walking distance of my gym. There’s been many times where I have needed lunch or dinner in a short couple of minutes, and am always swiftly in and out of the sandwich shop with some kind of toasted turkey sandwich.
I vary the toppings, but for the most part, I usually stick to the Turkey Lite and can’t get enough of it lately. Mmm… toasty!
• Yes To Blueberries facial exfoliator
I got around to using my wash this week and am in love. It’s great to use at the end of a long day knowing that my face probably went through multiple hand touching and sweat sessions.
I received this exfoliator as part of a shipment from Yes To Carrots (<- love their stuff!) a while back, and finally gave it a go a couple of days ago. Even after just one use, my face felt instantly softer and extremely clean. It’s meant to be used 3-4 times a week, and I would definitely recommend it!
• belVita soft baked breakfast biscuits
Last weekend, I picked up a new kind of muffin for breakfast. Have you ever seen these belVita soft baked breakfast biscuits?
Some of you might have picked up on the fact that I am a fan of the belVita breakfast bites after reviewing them a couple months ago. You know I’m a big fan if I continue to buy the product on my own later on. I have been doing exactly that and then some by trying the bigger, soft baked version of them this week.
The soft baked biscuits are delicious and taste like a perfect blend between a chocolate chip cookie and muffin. #morningwin for sure!
• Sweets ice cream, baked goods & café
I met a friend for coffee at the cutest little café yesterday. Located in Downtown Auburn Hills, it was my first time walking the main street, and I loved the scenery right away.
I walked into a bright and cheery coffee shop set up, and couldn’t help but take photos to share with you guys.
(Hi, Sarah!)
Per her suggestion, I ordered a Beez Kneez coffee that consisted of espresso, soy milk, honey, and cinnamon. I saw their window of cupcakes upon my checkout and also couldn’t resist giving their Vegan green velvet cupcake a try.
It was green and shimmery in honor of St. Patrick’s Day! I loved it. The two of us stayed in that little corner for a couple of hours and had a great time. I can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu!
• March Madness
March Madness officially started yesterday! We had some of the basketball games playing throughout the gym yesterday, and it brought me right back to my days of dancing on court during the NCAA tournaments USF traveled to in 2008 – Go Bulls!
Do you have any predictions for the Final Four?
Think about it, keep those teams in mind, and keep a lookout for a fun March Madness themed giveaway next week!
• white & black bean hummus
I shared a little preview of this during this week’s WIAW, and today I am dedicating an entire bullet point to it. White bean and black bean hummus, y’all!
Yes, it is as amazing as it sounds, and yes, you should try your best to find some at a store near you. I picked these bad boys up at our local Meijer, and the brand is Eat Well Embrace Life. After browsing their website, it looks like they have a ton of unique flavors. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for more to pop up in our stores!

I can’t. They’re all just so great!
Your Turn

Have a great weekend!

Love your favorites! It’s so cool you got to see Maroon 5 in concert. Their song sugar was one of my top songs of the week! I’m also loving those Belvita biscuits..I had one before the gym this morning!! I don’t even want to talk about March madness..one of my final four already lost lol! One of the regions they’re currently playing in is Pittsburgh (where I live) so it was crazy yesterday! I work downtown near the place they’re playing and it was funny seeing so many different schools. Traffic isn’t so funny though…
I love Sugar! Even though I’ve heard it a million times, I still enjoy it and rock out every time 🙂 Oh no! Sorry to hear about your team(s). Root for Arkansas for us! 😉
The concert sounds so fun!! Love all the pictures:) I think that’s awesome that he asked everyone to put their phones away and actually enjoy – I’ve never heard of an artist to do that! Glad you had fun! I didn’t get a chance to watch any game of March Madness yesterday but man did I get the notifications to my phone at work of all the upsets that happened! Honestly I always get excited when they do because it changes things up as compared to the higher seed just busting through. Have a great Friday and from what it sounds a possibly relaxing weekend!
I know… it was definitely one of my favorite moments. He talked about how he misses the old days before everyone got so wrapped up in technology and having to capture everything. He’s so right! So, for a birthday present, he asked that every single person drop their phone and enjoy living in the moment at the concert without documenting it. It was so cool! <3 Happy Friday!
I give my patients those breakfast cookies at the end of their appointments with me. They are a hit! I wish I could buy them in bulk haha.
Oh fun! I’m sure they love that. Maybe one day they will be available at Costco! 😉
Awesome favorites! I have seen Maroon 5 twice; once was before they were on the radio and were on tour with Jason Maraz (also not on the radio or known at that time). I was in the front row and Adam grabbed my hand. Yup, I died. That was over 11 years ago!!
Ahhhh Jason Mraz is one of my other all-time favs! We’ve seen him twice also. You know they’re great artists when you pay multiple times to see them live! 😉 OH MY GOSH stop. I would die too. That’s so awesome!
Okay, I saw it in yesterday’s post already but ooooh my goodness! You saw Maroon 5 live! And three times already. Colour me jealous. Insanely jealous. I wish I could go see them myself – Adam Levine … – but they’re only playing two shows over here and both are in cities far from where I live. Lucky, lucky you.
Haha, I know. I was a little redundant, but didn’t get to share all of the details. I love them so much! haha. Oh man, I hope you get to go see them sometime!
I didn’t intend to say it was reduntant. Honestly, could there ever be too much talk about Adam, err, music 😉 ?
I know! I’m just poking fun at myself. I’m glad you feel the same way I do! #nosuchthingastoomuchadam 😉
I need to see Maroon 5 in concert. My husband isn’t a huge fan. This is a dilemma. BAH
Have a great weekend!
Oh no… well, you could always ask to go for a birthday or holiday present. That way he’s going for you! 😉
So so jealous you got to see Maroon 5! I honestly think hummus is one of the best foods ever created.
I keep meaning to tell you. Your Welcome photo on your sidebar is great shot of you.
Have an awesome weekend Heather!
Aw, thank you so much, Jill! You’re so sweet! Hummus is seriously the best. I eat it close to every day! I hope you have a great weekend, Jill!
I would love to go to a Maroon 5 concert. Your seats were awesome, too! I haven’t been to a concert in forever, so I’m super jealous!
We love concerts and probably spend way too much time and money going to as many as we can, lol. 😉
YES to belVita! I haven’t tried the soft ones yet, but the crunchy brown sugar ones are my jam. And I’m so jealous of your Quiznos…all of the ones around us sort of disappeared over the past couple of years and there are none left!
Ohhh that flavor sounds delicious. Thanks for the suggestion! Oh no… well, I went a few years without it around me too, so I guess I’m making up for lost time! 😉
Soooo jealous about Maroon 5…sounds like they put on a fantastic show!
They sure do! I’ve been listening to their albums non-stop ever since!
Happy Friday, Heather! Thanks for hosting! Speaking of hummus, did you know there is such a thing as beet hummus? I just heard about it and haven’t tried it yet. But I love all hummus, so assume I would enjoy it. And yes, I’d love to see Maroon 5 one day — love the fact that they asked you to put your phone downs and enjoy. Such a great way to live in the concert moment! 🙂
I JUST saw that flavor on the website when I looked it up to share this black & white bean hummus. That sounds so good! I’ll have to keep a lookout for it. Happy Weekend!!
Loveee Adam Levine! I saw him perform in college and he was great. Those dogs are adorable! And yes-to products are great!
Black bean hummus?! That sounds absolutely delicious! I am sure I would love it. Now I need to get my hands on it asap!
Oh my gosh, those dog pictures just made my day! I love the golden retriever in the hat. 🙂 Have a good weekend!
I could have uploaded ten more, they’re all so great!
I’ve never tried black bean hummus though I love all things black beans so I’m sure its super yummy.
I’m sure you would love it! Have a great weekend 🙂
Those dog pictures are hilarious! Love them. Oh, and I totally miss Quizno’s! It used to be all over the place around my house, but now the nearest one is about three hours away. Such tasty subs (and reeeeally good toasted chocolate chip cookies).
Have a great weekend!
Oh no. That’s a sad state of affairs. Those cookies are good too!
So very jealous of your Adam Levine/Maroon 5 seats! Ahhh! So close to such sexiness!
I don’t think I have met a hummus that I don’t enjoy! They are all so delish!
I haven’t tried any of the Belvita breakfast options yet, but I think I would enjoy the crunchy versions more so than the soft muffin type!
Those dogs are adorable! A great way to end a post for sure!
Have a great weekend!
Give me all the hummus, lol. I enjoy both crunchy and soft. I guess it depends on my mood! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the dogs. They definitely made me smile!!
So jealous! I really want to see Maroon 5 and be that close to Adam Levine. I love the Belvita cookies for when I’m travelling!
They’re great to have on-the-go! Have a great weekend!
The concert looks sooo fun!! 🙂 And white/black bean hummus!? Sounds delicious!
The black bean is surprisingly spicy! Still loved it though.
As always, thank you for hosting this awesome linkup, Heather! Of course I love reading about your favorites (still thinking about that green velvet cupcake and getting some April Fools Day ideas…), but what I love most is your positivity (and not just on Fridays, lol). It’s contagious! Happy Friday 🙂
Maroon five is coming to my school’s basketball stadium in a few weeks, and I am hopefully going! I cannot wait! I love that falsetto- swoooooon. 😉
What?? Yes! You need to take advantage of that opportunity! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Mmmm, now I’m craving a Quizno’s sandwich! There doesn’t seem to be as many around here anymore – bummer! Enjoy your weekend!! xo
Thanks Ashley, you too! Happy Spring!
Maroon 5. LOVE!
Oh my gosh how amazing does that concert look!? Glad you had fun, the photos are great! Just stumbled upon your blog and loving it! Have a great weekend 🙂
Thanks for reading, Bri! I hope you have a great weekend!
Oh Adam Levine… what a beautiful man! I could stare at him all day everyday 🙂
Looks like such a wonderful time! You look gorgeous, hope you have a lovely day.
