Good morning and Happy Friday!
I’m sorry to ramble, but I really need to address this. Have any of you been watching Grey’s Anatomy the last couple of weeks?
Ahhh! I just don’t know how to handle all of it. I refuse to believe Derek is no longer a character on the show (sorry if I just spoiled this… but it’s been a week now! Any die-hard fan would know…), and I’m not sure how I feel about going on with the series. I watched the two-hour episode last night as I drafted this post, and I’m at a loss. It’s just never going to be the same!
Anyways, I bet we are all a little bit ready for the weekend. As you’re reading this, I am officially working my longest day at the gym to date by covering everything. It’s a 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. shift, but somebody’s got to do it, right? Bring on the coffee!
If anyone needs me, I’ll be eating take-out in bed while watching the good ‘ol beginning seasons of Grey’s on Netflix while I catch up on some work on the computer this weekend.
In an effort to help today go by a little faster, let’s talk about some of the highlights from the week with Friday Favorites. I enjoy seeing what you have been loving too, so please feel free to play along and join in on the comments section and link-up at the bottom!
Friday Favorites #87: Week of 5/1
• Candie’s crossover purse
I wasn’t really looking for a purse on my last stop into Kohl’s, but I found the whole Candie’s collection for 50% off. I decided to buy this cute pale blue crossbody bag, and with a $15 price tag it was a steal!
See more of their collection (with some serious discounts) !
• maxi dresses
Now that the weather is warming up (and I can’t wait for the climbing temperatures this weekend!), it’s finally time to bust out the spring apparel. My favorite transitioning piece from winter to summer has to be maxi dresses.
My maxi dress and skirt collection just keeps growing. Aren’t they the comfiest? I’ve been throwing a jean jacket, cardigan or button up shirt over the sleeveless ones, and have no problem wearing them over and over. #cantstopwontstop
• printed wallflowers
It’s no secret that I’m a lover of scents and wallflowers from Bath & Body Works. I checked out the new Brazil Collection on my last trip in and I really enjoyed the scents.
I needed to replace my wallflower refills, and I couldn’t get past the printed patterns of Black Teakwood.
I occasionally go for the printed leaves in the fall and flowers in the summer, too. Sometimes you have to search for them, but the prints are there!
• Clif Crunch granola bars
I’ve tried the a time or two, but I’ve been turning to them more and more lately.
The chocolate chip flavor has been my go-to. It tastes very similar to a chocolate chip cookie, and that’s perfectly appealing to me!
• words of wisdom on the white board
I love that my gym isn’t afraid to share the Bible and inspiring messages with clients and anyone who passes through!
I saw this verse on the board yesterday, and it put the biggest smile on my face. It’s one of my favorites, and is so very true. <3
• name brand shoes at TJMaxx
It’s so nice when I pop into stores like TJMaxx or Marshalls and find more than what I am looking for. On my last TJMaxx trip, I found three pairs of shoes I adored and went home with two.
Steve Madden sandals and Nine West heels
I have the same pair of sandals in black that I remember getting from one of the stores I mentioned above, too. You really can’t beat the prices on finds like that!

The struggle is real, right?
And so is this one.
Haha!

Anna-Marie @BeautyandtheBeets
I love maxi dresses- looking forward to catching up on your adventures to New York as well!
Heather
There’s a lot of them 😉 Happy Friday!
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul
I love your maxi dresses! Happy Friday!
Heather
Thanks Erin, have a great weekend too! <3
Emily @ My Healthyish Life
I can’t get over Grey’s Anatomy! It breaks my heart…I need to watch earlier episodes too. Thanks for hosting the link-up!
Heather
I knowwww. Thanks so much for linking-up!
SuzLyfe
From what I have gleaned, it is a very good thing that I stopped watching Grey’s long ago. My mom, however, is still an ardent watcher–I have a feeling that she will have WORDS about this! Have a great weekend!
Heather
I mean… I’ve been with the show since Season 1, so it would really take a lot to tear me away at this point. But, I’m just sayin’… it’s not the same. ;(
Kelly Runs for Food
Haha I laugh so hard at the JT May picture. I need to get some more maxi dresses, clearly. I only have one and it’s a little too dressy for every day stuff.
Heather
They’re great for riding in the car and traveling!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
I’m with you on maxi dresses and I need a few more. I always find good stuff at Marshall’s and TJMaxx, but my favorite discount store is Nordstrom Rack. Hope work goes well! Happy Friday! 🙂
Heather
LOVE Nordstrom Rack! How could I ever forget about that store? That’s where I purchased half of those maxis! 😉
Traci @ waltz me to heaven
The funnies are hilarious! It took me a sec on the JT one but then I literally laughed out loud. I used to watch Office Space over and over. I’ll never forget Lombard’s voice. I bought the spray from Bath and Body Works last week. It’s the lavender and vanilla for linens. We love it! My four year old got a hold of it and sprayed it on all her clothes too!
Have a great weekend!

Haha, isn’t it great? It’s been cracking me up for at least three years now. Never gets old! Yay for the spray, I hope you enjoy it!
Cortni @ YakkaFit
Aghh I have been watching Grey’s Anatomy since day one, and I still can’t believe it! I actually missed the finale last night, so I really need to catch up. It’s so depressing though!
Hahaha love the Justin meme! And I’ve gotta try that Mango Coconut Smoothie, it looks so good. Happy May!
Heather
I knowww… but I don’t think last night’s episode was the finale. Was it?? They showed previews for next week! 🙂
Pretty Little Grub
I love the look of maxi dresses but I’m short so every single one is too long for me and I’m way too lazy to get something hemmed. So alas, I am the only girl in spring without a maxi dress on.
Ellen
I stopped watching Grey’s when I came to school just because it became a lot less convenient to keep up with, but my phone practically exploded when my friends watched it. I think I’m glad I stopped watching it, though… it sounds like it kind of all went downhill, and I really liked it before.
Love the meme about username/password! SO TRUE.
Have a great weekend!
Heather
I’ll still continue to watch it… I just know I can’t be the only one seriously upset at the turn of events!
Annette Perkins (@FitnessPerks)
I love maxi dresses too–esp for this summer’s pregnant belly 😉 and yours are way cute! Happy Friday!
Heather
Aw, I bet your belly is adorable in them! 🙂
Jessie @ Just Jessie
Haha, yes! I love the “It’s Gonna be May” posts. I obviously put one up the other day on Facebook, because duh! It never gets old! And I’m with you on the maxi skirts/dresses train. I’m super short so it’s probably not the most flattering, but I don’t care. I’m wearing a maxi skirt today and I just bought two cute maxi dresses at Target the other day!
Heather
It really never does. Whoever started them is a genius. 😉 Happy Friday!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
I’ve been ALL about the maxi dresses and skirts lately too. They can make for great maternity-ish clothes that aren’t really maternity. 🙂 You can’t beat how comfy they are!
Love your shoe finds at TJ Maxx! I’m all about bargain shopping!
Heather
Yes! I bet you look adorable in them with your little belly! <3
Strength and Sunshine
Maxi dresses and skirts…..some of the best things in life 😉
Heather
Totally agree! 🙂
Susie B.
It makes me happy to know that someone else watches Grey’s! I thought I was the last person on the planet who still watches, haha. But last night’s episode was not what I expected… but at the same time, the entire thing was heartbreaking! When it ended I thought to myself “wow…that was sad, and now I feel depressed. Perfect.” I can’t stop watching though!
Heather
Nope, I’m still with you! I wanted to cry the whole time. It’s just all so weird!
Bri
That JT “It’s Gonna Be May” pic made me LOL! Love it 🙂 Happy Friday & Happy May!
Heather
Haha, isn’t it great? I’m sure I’ll continue to share it for years to come… 😉
Nicole @ Squash on Squash
Hahaha this is the first year I’ve heard “it’s gonna be may” and i find it hilarious. big NSYNC fan here. Also, I’m trying to find new Netflix shows to watch, so I’m thinking I’ll give Greys a shot…there are so many seasons!
Heather
I started watching it from Season 1 (again) this week and I’m loving it all over again. You should give it a shot!
Carrie
I loved your NYC posts! Seriously looked like a killer trip… HAH love the password/username meme.. SO TRUE
Heather
Thanks so much for reading, Carrie! Have a great weekend 🙂
Ange @ Cowgirl Runs (@cowgirlruns)
I have to say, I didn’t hate the episode where Derek died, but this week?! I HATED it. Seriously. I sent a ranting email to my bff about it this morning. Ha.
Heather
Haha, glad I’m not alone there… I mean, an entire YEAR passed! What?
Heather@hungryforbalance
Office Space= never gets old. STILL one of my favorite movies of all time. Mmm’ Kay?
Heather
The best. If you could go ahead and have a great weekend… that’d be great. 😉
Penny Struebig
I am so with you on Grey’s Anatomy. What is Shondra Rhimes thinking?!? And you know that Christina would have come back for Derik’s funeral. And Meredith should have called his family to say goodbye. Oh my, the list of “should haves” goes on and on.
Heather
Scott read something about Patrick Dempsey being high maintenance to work with. I heard the same for Dr. Burke (not sure of his name) and Izzy. I guess she doesn’t have much tolerance for those types of personalities! I wonder what really happened to George O’Malley though.
Beth @ Running with the Sunrise
I am so behind on the trends and I just bought my first maxi dress this year. I’m really looking forward to wearing it this summer! And I have had “It’s Gonna Be Me” stuck in my head alllll day. Thanks, JT. 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Heather
Haha, it’s a catchy one! 😉 I’m sure you will love wearing maxis!
renaissancerunnergirl
I have been a loyal Grey’s fan through it all, but after last week I decided I could not watch any longer. No Derek means no MerDer, which is the one thing I was still watching for!
Heather
Oh no! I know how you feel though. I’m consoling the loss with throwback Season 1-9 Grey’s episodes on Netflix while I’m home doing things this weekend. It’s working great so far!
renaissancerunnergirl
My favorites were all Season 1-5, it went downhill after that I think. Best episode ever in my humble opinion was the one where Derek proposed in the elevator!
Chelsea @ Raw N' Toned
I struggle so much trying to find a maxi dress that fits my height { I’m only 5’1 }, one day!!! And those sandals are so cute!! Love finding name brands for cheaper prices! And omg, yes! I hate when it won’t tell me whether it’s my user name or password that is wrong!! And omg omg omg bahahahahahaha that seal is me every time I go to my boyfriend’s house!
Heather
Oh, I bet. There has to be options out there for you! You’d think if jeans come in short, dresses would too. hahaha, I’m glad you appreciate the seal!
Lindsey
I am a huge TJMaxx and Marshalls fan so I had to put myself on a ban. Every single time I went I was buying at least one thing (which was usually between once or twice a week!). I just can’t go without finding something I like! I haven’t been to one in about 2 months now and I think I’m having withdraws, especially with shoes!
Heather
Haha, I know what you mean. Although, I don’t buy something every time. I either walk away empty handed or with practically the whole store… so I guess it evens out 😉
