This Friday is one I have been looking forward to, as I will be spending it with my family in Florida!
Scott and I arrived yesterday afternoon after what felt like an eternity of morning traveling. (Note to self: forget booking a two-stop route for a two hour flight just to save some dollars next time.) Once we finally got in our rental car and to our old stomping grounds, we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon revisiting a favorite lunch spot, catching up at home and meeting a friend at a new restaurant for dinner.
I’m sure I will have plenty to catch you up on very soon!
Today I am continuing the Friday Favorites series I started nine weeks ago. This week also marks the third week I have hosted a new link up for anyone to join in on the things/recipes/food/fashion/music I’m loving lately party! Ready to roll? Perfect.
• Michigan fall leaves and trees
There’s nothing like running or driving down neighborhood streets that screams fall with different shades of red, orange and yellow leaves around. Something about this view is instantly calming for me, and I have caught myself taking pictures of trees almost daily up here.
Aren’t they gorgeous? And those leaves on the ground! (Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.)
• Florida palm trees
From one extreme to the other, this week has been full of them, including the weather. Ours started in the thirties with flurries and is currently in the mid-80s and gorgeous.
I never realized how much I miss palm and hanging moss trees until I don’t have them around all the time!
• this quote I shared Monday via Instagram
Yup… that pretty much sums it up.
• the official start to a new NBA season
Our season opener happened just a few days ago. Six seasons later, a dark, loud house during player intros still gives me chills!
• J Beverly Hills shampoo and hair & scalp treatment
I have been trying out new hair products recommended by my hairdresser over the past few weeks. I always leave the salon with silky, smooth, wonderfully smelling locks and she hasn’t steered me wrong yet.
I picked up this set of sulfate-free (<- important for my coloring!) shampoo and hair & scalp treatment conditioner on my last trip there.
Before this, I had never heard of J Beverly Hills, but I have loved every one of their products she has tried on me thus far. With this duo, I actually look forward to washing my hair. I love the feeling of the everyday moisture infusing shampoo and masque hair & scalp intensive treatment smells a little like peppermint! Love, love, lovin’ this combo.
• warm zip-up vests
One of the best things about living up north is getting to bundle up with cute and comfy accessories for months at a time! I’ve been living in these vests this year (already) when the weather is chilly enough to need a coat, but not quite unbearable yet.
Pictured is a down vest I purchased at H&M for just around $40. I adore the side snaps that give a little bit of shape to the back and it came with a detachable fur hood I’m sure you will see another time.
• hemp hearts seeds
Just like chia or flax seeds, hemp hearts seeds are an easy way to pack in extra nutrients to any smoothie, oatmeal, cereal, or salad.
Raw hemp hearts seeds are a great source of vegan protein, essential fats and have become a staple in my pantry. They don’t have much of a taste, and even just a sprinkle adds texture to anything!
• this song by Katy Perry
It makes me tear up every single time.
I can relate to it on so many levels.
I am totally supporting this new look and come back after a brief hiatus. She seems so strong and more inspirational than ever.
• Detangle shower (wet) brush
This professional detangle wet brush has seriously changed my life. Listening to another suggestion from my hairdresser, I purchased this on my last trip to the salon and have noticed a significant decrease in tangles ever since.
You can use it in the shower, directly out of the shower, or even on dry hair to help with split ends and natural breakage while brushing.
This with the combination of ArgaBeta oil has made such a difference in the condition of my hair the past few weeks. (Happy camper alert!)
And I guess that’s it. Now I want to hear from you!
Did you stumble upon or create a new recipe your dying to share?
Have a good workout ready to make us sweat?
Have something you are looking forward to this weekend?
Happy November!

It’s so funny that we’re usually wearing flip flops at Thanksgiving! That’s Florida weather for you. 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for hosting the party!
Heather
Thanks! Yes, I had to get a pedi here because I forgot about wearing sandals. 😉
Erin @ The Almond Eater
I have also loved driving down and looking at all of the trees! I wish they could stay pretty colors for longer. Also I’m a big fan of chia seeds so I should probably give hemp seeds a try. Have fun with your fam!
Heather
I think you will like them! Ahhhh I so wish we could just skip winter and have extra fall months. Here’s hoping… (fingers crossed!)

The Fall leaves/colors have been making me so happy lately! And you are right, vests are amazing. I LOVE the one that you are wearing! I need to find a cream colored one since all that I have are a black one and a hot pink one.
