Hi there and Happy Friday to you!
Our day started off in a whirlwind as we got a call at 8:30 a.m. to have Skyler jump in on a modeling shoot with a call time of 10:45 a.m. in Unity City, New Jersey. You might already know that we don’t have a car while living in Brooklyn, so let’s just say it was a fun adventure to kick off the day. There was some scrambling and a lot of stroller running, but we made it happen!
Skyler did great, had fun and earned some money for his college fund … so I can’t really complain. I’m a bit delayed in today’s to-do’s so this week’s edition of Friday Favorites is going to be a short one. I’m looking forward to a rooftop hang with a few friends later on tonight, and a pretty low-key weekend to follow!
What about you?
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK OF 5/14
- Bryant Park – Midtown, Manhattan
I’ve mentioned Bryant Park a handful of times on the blog, and it deserves another one after our last two visits. Last Monday, Skyler and I took a pit stop there after a casting call he had for the shoot mentioned above, and it turned out to be such a pleasant afternoon. Spring in New York is here, and I am here for it!
The park stayed open through the pandemic, but this was our first visit back to see the shops and pop-ups back in action. It was very exciting! We spent several hours coloring and playing in the sunshine, got ice cream (Ample Hills is always a good idea) and even took two rides on the carousel. It’s back, too!
We stopped by the park again on our way home today, and it’s officially gorgeous out. I fully encourage some quality time outside this weekend if it’s been a while for you.
- three strength workouts you can try
I don’t have a lot of time to put a new workout share together, so here is a quick round up of a few strength sessions that you might like from earlier editions of Friday Favorites. By the way, if you like these types of circuits, I share them often over on the “Workouts” highlight on Instagram!
DETAILS: Full Body Gym Workout
DETAILS: Stability Ball & Dumbbell Strength Workout
DETAILS: Gym Machine Workout – Seated Strength
Disclaimer: This workout was great for me, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s ideal for you. If you’re new to strength training, please make sure that you’re cleared by a doctor to try strength workouts before you try this.
- Bright Side Duo is back!
If you aren’t using a Vitamin C Serum yet, what are you waiting for? It is amazing for brightening, treating dark spots, and protecting against environmental stressors. This All Bright C Serum uses two forms of Vitamin C and is tied for FIRST on my list of must-haves with the Overnight Resurfacing Peel.
The Overnight Resurfacing Peel is magic in a bottle for reducing fine lines, dark spots and wrinkles! Truly. The more you use it, the bigger difference you will notice, and it’s recommended to use 3-4x per week at night. This is for who want to lighten age or sun spots, correcting melasma, evening skin tone/coloring, turning dull skin into radiant skin, lessening fine lines and wrinkles, skin that needs exfoliation, refining pores … I mean, that basically covers everyone, right?!
These all-stars have been my top two clean beauty product recommendations for a while now as their AM/PM counterparts, and now you have the chance to give them a test drive with half-sizes bundled for a discount in the Bright Side Duo. It originally debuted in the Holiday 2020 collection, sold out quickly, and is back for a limited time.
I couldn’t NOT tell you about it!
And, if you’ve never ordered with Beautycounter before, make sure to use the code CLEANFORALL20 at checkout for 20 percent off of your first order. I am here if you need me and always appreciate you!
- quick and easy meal idea
Trader Joe’s does it again with a new favorite meal kit (plus some additions) in our household lately. I’ve been buying the Vegetable and Soba Noodle stir fry kit on repeat, so I guess that means it’s time to share it with you. I like to add a few more veggies like extra carrots and broccoli, chicken or shrimp, and liquid aminos as a soy sauce substitute.
This one comes together in less than ten minutes if I have pre-cooked chicken on hand, and it’s always toddler approved. Let me know if you decide to give it a try!
