Happy Thanksgiving Day!!! We are up briiiight and early over here. Scott’s father and step-mother arrived last night and we are so excited to have them visit us for our first official holiday here in Michigan!
Last night we went shopping for a few odds and ends while planning out our Thanksgiving dinner. I will give you one guess to what is on tonight’s menu…
Shockingly, no. Since it is just the four of us this year, we decided to do something very different.
I have to admit that I will miss the stuffing, dressing, and – of course – the turkey, but I will get over it for a chance to dig into Scott’s Spicy Brisket Chili and his step-mother’s Jalapeno Cornbread!
To keep part of the Thanksgiving traditions I grew up with, I insisted that we have some sort of pumpkin dessert. In fact, we are planning to make and enjoy pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake. You can imagine how completely giddy I am right now…
Well, we are off to kick off our holiday at America’s Thanksgiving Parade right here in Detroit. No matter what you do today, or who you spend it with, I hope you get the opportunity to reflect on what you are thankful for. Here is my list.
To send you off with a smile, I am going to stay true to my holiday humor fashion of a sharing a good ‘ol Jib Jab video.
Did it work?
Party like it’s 1621 and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
