It’s Saturday, and we have only just begun a busy weekend at the Hesington household. Today and tomorrow are filled with Detroit Pistons events for both Scott and I, starting with me helping HOOPER make a statement at the Woodward Dream Cruise 2013!
Yup… that’s us. I was sitting passenger while HOOPER was on the roof top cruisin’ along the streets with the best of them. The half smile, half fear for our lives look on my face is real, folks. After hanging around the crazy horse for a season, I guess I am as used to his dangerous stunts as I can be. Although I was hesitant, he turned out to be completely fine… until the Sheriff told us he was done. And reckless. Oops.
We finished our drive back and forth on Woodward right around 11 a.m., and I am currently coming to you from a Starbucks right down the road! I was finally able to try the Valencia Orange Refresher today, and friends, it is delicious. Thank you for finally convincing me to look past my Very Berry Hibiscus ways and give it a go!
Since I was running behind this morning and didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast (healthy living blogger fail), I was craving it for lunch. Have you ever tried their egg white wraps? I love the spinach and feta version, but the chicken sausage flavor takes the cake for me every time. YUM!
I have a little bit of a break before having to get back to work (this time as a Dancer!), and wanted to use my time wisely to share my latest vitamin and supplements reviews with you. Because you care about things like that… right? <Raises eyebrows, turns to the side, and makes an enthusiastic smile while giving a thumbs up!>
Bulu Box July 2013 Unboxing
Some of you might remember me introducing Bulu Box on the blog a few months ago. As an Ambassador for the brand, you can expect to see me share boxes full of surprise products with you every now in then, if not on a monthly basis.
I received my latest box at the beginning of July, but have yet to share my unboxing and review with you. Is it really mid-late August already? Danggg.
Just for fun, lets pretend it is the end of July and see what this month of goodies looked like!
Woot!
So, What Exactly IS Bulu Box?
If you are into what’s new in the vitamin and supplement world and would like to sample products before you buy the full (and sometimes expensive) versions, Bulu Box might make your life a little bit easier.
Bulu works with a large list of well-known brands that supply them with sample sizes of their newest and most popular products on the market. They send out a handful of trial products on a monthly basis, and each box is packed with variety.
Let’s see what’s in the box of goodness this time…
Two things:
1. I filmed this video way before I published Tanya’s guest post on GMOs! So, you can ignore the “more to come” statement… for now.
2. This is technically the second video I posted with dark hair. Gotta love early planning!
😉
How It Works
1. Choose your line: Health Box or Weight Loss Box.
2. Choose your subscription:
Month-to-Month, 3-Month, 6-Month, or 12-Month.
3. Receive your box and sample the products.
4. Share your thoughts + reviews for coupons!
Interested? Head on over to their website, pick your package, and use my promo code: BULUGAN 417 to receive $10 OFF your subscription, or use it all towards one free box!
July Product Breakdown
While I normally offer you a detailed product description, the retail price of the product, and a detailed review of each product, I did it a little differently this month. With all of our traveling lately, I seem to have misplaced my information sheet/sample notes page, so I improvised.
Instead, enjoy the condensed version, which you might just like better anyways!
By order of appearance in the video:
1. ERBA Vita Acid Dietary Supplement – (Value $0.50):
Helps regulate your digestive system and supports a healthy pH of the stomach. Contains natural ingredients and is GMO Free! The package I received only provided a one day sample, so it is hard to say if my digestive system really felt any different. I like that the supplements were chewable, and the taste wasn’t half bad!
2. PowerBar Performance Energy Blends – (Value $2.27 each):
These energy blends are meant to be taken before, during, or after a workout to give you more endurance or help you recover. They come in a variety of flavors and I sampled the Banana Blueberry and Apple Mango Strawberry packs. The first one was tasty, but the Apple Mango Strawberry combination was SO good. It wasn’t as “gel-y” as I was expecting, and actually had more of an applesauce consistency. I really liked these and they might just end up in my shopping cart in the future!
3. Vivarin Caffeine Alertness Aid – (Value $0.60):
This is a mental alertness supplement that offers 200mg of caffeine per tablet. As you all know, I am a bit of a coffee addict… so the thought of supplementing it seems silly to me. I would much rather enjoy a hot cup of joe, but that’s just me. Also, I told Scott about these and he mentioned he used to take them in college all the time to “study”… I think he really means to stay up at all hours of the night playing video games. 😉
4. Ripped Cream in Lean Vanilla Bean – (Value $1):
Instead of supplementing coffee (or caffeine), this protein packed coffee creamer adds to it! I sampled the Lean Vanilla Bean flavor, but it also comes in others and is meant to satisfy your craving for coffee creamers. I used my one individual sample serving packet in two large cups of coffee and enjoyed the taste. There was, however, a little bit of clumping going on… which I was kind of expecting. It seems to happen to almost everything liquid you add protein powder to!
5. Daily Burn Gift Card – (Value $30)
Daily Burn is a workout application, giving you access to workouts wherever you are! I haven’t tried it out for myself, but have the card stashed for future use. Seems like a great resource for new workout ideas and nutritional guides.
6. Zellies Xylitol Gum/Mints in Cool Mint, Spearmint, and Cool Fruit (Value $0.40):
Mints, Gum, and Candies that are sweetened with 100% Xylitol. No artificial sweeteners and naturally sugar free! Daily servings help protect teeth after meals, drinks, and snacks, or anytime for healthier teeth and gums. Loved the flavors, and since I am a gum freak, I appreciated this one. The mints were pretty kickin’ too. Great product!
And I guess that just about wraps it up! If there is one thing I could tell Bulu, it is that am a tad over getting caffeine and metabolism supplements. Instead, I enjoy sampling more unique products like the PowerBar gels and the gum!
If the idea of the box doesn’t do anything for you, I hope something in it caught your eye this month. If not, well then I hope you enjoyed hearing me ramble on the video. Because I tend to do that.
