Hi there! It’s Friday, and I’m really pumped about featuring Friday Favorites on the regular around here again. I’ve missed checking in with you in a casual chatter, and I hope you’ll stick around for a little bit of the fun mixed in with content from time to time.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Special shout out to this guy who is working hard in Chicago right now.
We are very proud of you and lucky to call you ours!
My heart is extremely full today as I take a look back at the last week. There’s been a lot of transitions made both personally and professionally, and it’s really filling my soul. (You can read all about it if you missed it in the last section of this post.)
There’s also been some comfort from home here in the city, as I was able to hang with both my childhood and college friends last weekend.
Living in New York City does have it’s perks, as people are always on deck to visit!
All right, now let’s move on to the faves from the week before I go off on a tangent here. Today I’m looking forward to attending a Tot & Me Yoga class with Skyler, knocking out some projects on the computer, and meeting our neighbor for dinner later tonight.
Here’s a look into what I’ve been loving lately. I’d love to hear what you’re up to in the comments below!
LATEST FRIDAY FAVORITES
- indoor playgrounds
I’m sure those of you who live in colder climates appreciate a good indoor playground as much as I do. When we were looking at gyms in our area with childcare, the indoor gym area that is set up for kids under the age of three to play multiple times a week was a huge selling point for me.
As much as I love taking Skyler to the outdoor playgrounds, we don’t last very long running around in our coats, hats, and gloves during the winter. It’s just not as enjoyable. Since I’ve been able to spend my days at home with Skyler, we’ve made a point to plan at least two days a week here at the indoor gym at our local YMCA.
Skyler loves it at runs wild for up to an hour, if he’s not tired. It’s a great way for him to get out his energy and socialize with other kids. If you have access to any type of indoor play area like this, I can’t recommend it enough.
- newsletters!
Guys. I am so excited to transition into working at home again, and I think that is evident by this week’s blog posts. I’m here, and I’m ready to catch up and get all of the ideas that have been swirling around in my head out and published — three cheers to that!
If you’d like to stay in the loop with everything and get exclusive information and offers that I might not be offering in this space, make sure to subscribe to the LIL newsletter and update your options of what you’d like to see in your email inbox. Right now there are over 500 of you subscribed without anything selected on what you’d like to receive, so there’s a good chance that you aren’t receiving the updates at all.
There should be an option to subscribe to Daily (get every post published here to your inbox), Monthly (get separate newsletter updates that I will be creating in addition to blog posts, once to twice a month), and/or Beautycounter (which sets you up to receive all of the promos, extra giveaways, tips, and specific information that I have for clean beauty.
You can choose to subscribe to Life In Leggings (Daily OR Monthly — and I’ll be sure to include both groups in my newsletter updates that aren’t published here on the blog), AND/OR Beautycounter. It’s all about whatever you prefer and click over for!
Make sure to update your settings either on the sidebar or here, and I’ll be sending out the first LIL newsletter in another week or so.
Thank you!
- BATSU
BATSU is something that everyone should experience at least once! It’s a mix of live comedy, improv, game shows, audience interaction, and is served alongside sushi boats, appetizers, cocktails, and saki (that is sneakily refilled by ninjas throughout the show).
I had not been before, and I was excited when my friend, Melissa, who was in town visiting asked Scott and I to tag along. You have to purchase tickets to get seated, and there is a choice between standard seating and VIP. We chose standard, but ended up going with the sake extras anyways. It was all so fun!
The venue is located in the East Village on First Ave and Fourth Street, and the entrance isn’t labeled at all. It’s very New York. We found our way in, thanks to the guy standing out front reading a comic book (which was obviously part of the show). We gave them our names and were seated quickly, ordered food and drinks, and enjoyed at least two hours of live entertainment.
The comedy isn’t stand-up, and reminded me of a Who’s Line Is It Anyway type of show, Asian-style. They struck a gong when someone struck out or didn’t participate fast enough in the round, and the performers who lost each round got punishments. It was hilarious, and I was laughing the whole time!
There is a location here in NYC and another one in Chicago. I’d definitely go again, and would highly recommend tickets to anyone in the area!
- latest workouts
Here’s the latest workout shares, just in case you missed them on my Instagram stories.
You can always reference more in the “Fitness” highlights on my Instagram page. I’m also going to be updating my highlights next week, so keep a lookout as “Fitness” will most likely split into “Fitness” and “Workouts” with posts like the workouts you see her filed under “Workouts”.
- Beautycounter skincare regimens/collections & free gifts
February is the month of love, so why not show yourself some love with a safe, clean and effective skincare regimen?
I totally get that regimens/collections can be scary, because you don’t always know what you’re diving into. I’ve been there. After trying Countermatch and Countertime, however, I see how everything really does work together to maximize results while taking the guess work of what you should do with and before or after what. It’s an investment, but you’re also going to save money by purchasing everything as a bundle instead of one thing at a time.
Also, Beautycounter products are very condensed, so a little bit goes a long way. Regimens and Collections generally last anywhere from 4-6 months. So it’s worth noting how big the products are in the Countertime line!
If you have any questions about this of what skincare line would be best for your skin type, please reach out!
Here are the deets on the sale. (And of course, I can help you with a la carte shopping, too.)
When you purchase a regimen or collection now through February 25th (while supplies last), you’ll receive a full-size product from that line for free! *shop all the regimens and collections here!*
Please sned me any questions you may have on all things having to do with Beautycounter and/or #betterbeauty in general. You can always comment on or message me about anything I share on Instagram stories, and subscribe to the newsletter to stay in the loop with all of the inside scoop, too!
