Meet Lorna Jane Clarkson, Australian founder of Lorna Jane Activewear and extreme healthy living advocate. Lorna’s energetic outlook on living healthy and actively has inspired a worldwide sisterhood of women to reach their best life with an Active Living movement she started called Move Nourish Believe.
From what I can tell, she does her best to move every day, nourish her body with whole foods, and believes in chasing dreams, no matter how big or unattainable they might seem.
Lorna Jane is not just a clothing label, it is a way of life. She full-heartedly believes women can have and do it all.
Lorna, can we please be friends?
As if what the brand stands for isn’t enough to make me fall for it, the entire line is out of this world adorable. With 70-100 new styles released each month (!!!), LJ provides a unique and competitive edge to activewear you really want to wear anywhere for anything. To be completely honest, I put the two pieces I received to review on yesterday afternoon and am still wearing all of it. Whoops.
Lorna Jane is designed to support all areas of your active life from the gym to yoga, cycling, running, Pilates, and even dancing. Designed by women, for women, everything in the line is so bright and fashionable!
After doing a little social media research yesterday, I quickly clicked “follow” on a new set of daily healthy living inspirations. If you’re into things like being awesome and getting the warm fuzzies, I highly recommend following their Instagram and Pinterest accounts, where you can find motivational and yummy pictures like these.
(That married to chocolate quote. Totally nailed it.)
So we agree, she’s pretty cool.
Now onto the goods…
After anxiously waiting for my package to arrive, I found the Maxum Full Zip Through Top and Amy F/L Tight inside. While applying for this review, I was asked to pick 3/4 or full length tights and a handful of tops to test out. My note to the company was that I live in and often work out in cold climates and was more than thrilled when I saw a zip up in my shipment!
This slim-fit top can double as a jacket and is ideal for outdoor exercise when the weather is cool. The fabric is LJ Excel Classic, which is shrink and fade resistant, quick drying, and breathable.
The first thing I looked for was built-in thumb holes like this hoodie (<- want!) has, but I quickly got over that disappointment when I put it on. It’s insanely comfortable.
I love the high neckline that has what a secret zipper cover when you zip it all the way up tight (like I do to keep the chill out!), and the concealed zip pocket in front to keep your cash or keys safe and in place.
Don’t even get me started on these tights, either. They might just become my new go-to pair. Officially categorized under “cycling” – clearly not what I wear them for – this tight is versatile and perfect for any type of workout. Okay, it’s pretty great for days where I might not make it to the gym either. Just sayin’.
I love how the waistline lies at a flattering height and that they also have a drawstring on the inside you can fold down and tighten if you wish. Like the top, it is made out of the same wonderful LJ Excel fabric and has a small zip pocket in front.
This style is ideal for exercising in the chilly outdoors, but isn’t thick or restricting. They’re super stretchy, not see-through, and I see myself wearing them quite often.
Either one of these items (or… how about anything in the line!) would be a perfect addition to this year’s Holiday Fitness Goodies Gift Guide. And, just to throw it out there, any orders that are placed by the end of the day would be on track to arrive before Christmas Day!

Questions of the Day
• Have you ever heard of Lorna Jane before? If so, what pieces have you purchased and/or liked?
• What is your favorite activewear brand to wear?
I’ve heard Lorna Jane is the Australian equivalent to our Lululemon, which is a pretty big deal. As my fellow fitness blogger Linz so eloquently put it: “Lorna Jane in Australia is what Lululemon is here in the U.S. Only bigger. Like a lot bigger. Here’s some perspective: Australia’s population is ~22 million and has ~128 Lorna Jane stores. U.S.A.’s population is ~300 million and has ~200 Lululemon stores.” Yowza! Knowing that makes my heart smile.
Keep on rockin’ it sisters!
Natasha
I’ve never purchased any Lorna Jane before, I’ve heard of the brand, but after checking out that website I definitely like what I see. I’m really into super colorful workout clothes so this is sorta perfect 🙂
I’ve been a Lululemon lover (born and raised in Canada so I’ve known the brand since forever), and I have worked there several times. However, within the last year, the quality has gone down substantially, but the prices, in my view, remains unreasonably high, which has deterred me from purchasing a lot of their clothing items.
I definitely am gonna check out some of these Lorna Jane clothes, I’m curious about the shorts though!
PS I love the blue jacket you got!! That color looks amazing on you!
Have a great day 🙂
xoxo

I too love the bright and fun color schemes! I also love lulu, but agree that it is a little overpriced for my taste. Hopefully LJ stays exactly where it’s at! 😉

I went to a Lorna Jane store in California and loved it. I got some yoga pants and a tank. They are great. I also bought her book called, More. Excellent!! I hope the company has plans to open more stores in the US!!
