I just love, love, love this time of year.
Ever since we moved to a colder climate, I have become instantly ready for Christmas to arrive the minute that snowfall is on the radar. I’ll admit that I’m also one to complain about the snow come February, but, for now, I think it’s part of the holiday charm that pairs well with comfortable pajamas, a throw blanket, and a hot beverage to sip on next to a fireplace.
While I’m not as ahead of the game as I wanted to be with sending out our annual holiday cards, I’m happy knowing that they are all on their way to mailboxes around the country (and Canada!) as I type. Phew!
I actually really enjoy the process of picking out, assembling, and sending out our cards. In a way, it’s like my own digital version of crafting — which is about the only kind of DIY projects that I can get away with in our Brooklyn apartment.
Holding true to tradition, I partnered with and found the exact layout that I was looking for within a few minutes of browsing. I used to spend hours upon hours designing our own holiday cards, but I’m so glad those days are over, thanks to a major upgrade in pre-set templates. And if you’re looking to get fancy, you can browse the year in review options, too.
Check out the last few years of cards here, here, here, and here (<- 2013 throwback)!
This year, I thought it would also be appropriate to feature our newest addition front and center in the form of a headline and customizable stamp. I mean … is there any better option?
Those cheeks speak for themselves.
It may seem extra, but I really wanted festive stamps to complete the design this year. I stood in a crazy long line at the post office two years in a row to purchase holiday-themed stamps, and both times had me leaving frustrated with the standard stamps that I could have purchased at a grocery store.
Getting to see this mug over and over while I addressed the cards made a slight increase in postage cost totally worth it. Plus, the process of putting everything together became that much more enjoyable. (Hi Skyler!)
I skipped the option to print our return address on the envelope because I have my good ‘ole to help me there. I did, however, fully take advantage of the lovely address assistant feature that saves all of my contacts to automatically print on the envelopes year after year. It’s so easy to update, too.
Oh, and did I mention that the option to choose a customized envelope design and print recipient addresses is completely free? While I love handwriting cards, this is not something that I miss doing with holiday cards. Bless this feature.

Your cards turned out SO well! I’m jealous, I’m single so I’ve never gotten to try Minted since there’s no one to pose for pictures but myself (lol!), but I love looking at their festive designs every year!
