If you were given $1,000 to completely makeover your wardrobe to look and feel your best, what would you spend it on?
And no, adding a brand new laptop to carry around in your tote bag or yet another outfit to wear to the gym doesn’t count. I’m talking about actual clothes that aren’t made for sweating in, also known as a (mostly) unfamiliar concept to me.
I really don’t spend much on updating my wardrobe these days.
You almost always see the extent my purchases that happen maybe once a month? That said, you can probably sense my excitement when I was asked this very same question.
Since I now live in Michigan – a state with all four seasons – I would focus on items I could wear throughout the majority of the year. Dresses (I can throw tights under and jackets over), skinny jeans, button up shirts, dressy tanks, cute jackets and blazers, and an impressive collection of boots, booties and pumps is what I would go for!
(Hover over and click the items to see product details.)
I would gear up for Fall:
Purchase versatile outfits for Summer trips:
Grab a handful of fun dresses for nights out on the town:
And snag a stylish pea coat to wear over them (this is Michigan, after all.)
I would use what I learned from the hit TLC series What Not To Wear and buy staple mix and match pieces that could be worn several different ways.
Dare to dream right?
Looking and feeling your best requires more than just assembling outfits. It takes confidence, and that is where Progresso™ comes in.

Is this open to Canadians??!!

I am loving blazers right now!

Heather
I feel ya, sister!! 😉
Kelly Runs for Food
ooh what an awesome contest! The first thing I would buy is a new pair of knee high boots. I want camel-colored boots with a stacked heel (very specific, I know haha).
Heather
I’m super specific about my boots too. You don’t want to know how long it took me to find the exact ones I wanted for these graphics 😉
Sarah W
Some new boots!
Heather
Love boots!
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment
This is such a great contest! I would get a pair of maroon jeans (they’re on my fall shopping list) and some new boots!
Heather
I have been wanting maroon jeans for months!! I need to just get them already 😉

I definitely need to start fresh with EVERYTHING in my closet. So basically, I need a lot of help haha. I probably would start with jeans. I’ve needed some new, nice pairs for-ev-errrrr!
Heather
I feel ya! I always wear the same couple I have. Finally starting to invest and it was much needed 😉
Megg
Ah this would be my dream! I would looove to stock up on fall essentials – it is my favorite season afterall – and cute spring/summer pieces. I would invest in an amazing pair of versatile jeans, staple tops & sweaters to build a wardrobe that will last me for years to come. I recently lost a bit of weight, so none of my clothes fit anymore! I would love to show my confidence and get some great quality pieces that fit me like a glove 🙂
Heather
Woo hoo, congrats on the weight loss! Fall accessories are the best. <3

I really want a puffy vest, some cream colored leggings and more boots. I can never have enough boots in San Francisco!
Heather
Puffy vests are so fun! A definite staple in MI!

WOW! That’s quite a giveaway, my dear!!! I could always use a serious wardrobe update. As a mom of a 2-year-old, and now excelling in my career as well, I’m starting to ditch my raggety Target-brand clothes from years ago and invest in quality classics. More importantly, I would love to gift my mom a wardrobe update–she hasn’t bought a single new item of clothing in YEARS for financial reasons, and pretty much lives in yoga pants and old tees (at a petite 5-foot, she has a great body!). She’s so void of self-confidence these days, I would love to lighten her life up with a fresh wardrobe to make her feel good about herself again.
Kat
Love this contest! I think I would focus on some more flattering work-to-night pieces.
Nicole @ Squash on Squash
This is such a great giveaway!! Hmm I could really use some cute tshirts (so hard to come across), or some brown leather riding style boots.
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul
What a fun contest! Oh man if I had a $1,000 to spend on clothes right now I would go crazy! haha
sarah4rdfl
I really need clothes that aren’t gym clothes!
Tami
I would love to update my “sporty” and “dressy” winter coats, update my brown and black boots, and add some fun jewelry. I’d love to get some fun skinny and boot cut jeans to my collection that have been updated and would make me look fashionable and be comfortable! I teach high school, so my budget is limited, but I try to dress young and hip (and appropriate) so that my students have a good role model to look up to. There are a lot of cute junior style clothes out there, but so many of them are not quite appropriate for teens whether or not they are wearing them inside the high school building!
hellokrystalw
An update to my wardrobe is much needed. I would start by giving away some of my ugg type boots, and purchase some stylish riding boots. I would also buy a new fitted coat for winter. Some other items I would buy are some winter dresses, new tights, and some fun accessories.
Jessica G
I’m thankful for my brand new job! However, with it comes a more professional wardrobe requirement that I’ve not needed in past positions. I’m desperately in need of fun business clothes that more than just a pair of black pants. Bring on the color and fun prints!
Kim @ Fittin Pretty
Dyyying to win this. 🙂 Love your outfit ideas!!
What widget did you use for the outfit links? So cool!!
Allie @ pints of life
You share the best stuff with your readers! This would be awesome! I’m in need of some new jeans! And some new sweaters of course! It’s been a few good years for a handful of my current ones lol
Marissa
I really need a new purse, a few versatile tops, a blazer. I would also love some quality shoes for work and a cute dress for a date night. 🙂 SOO MANY OPTIONS

This is such a fun giveaway! I am in desperate need of some new boots for the Fall/Winter.

Great jeans.
Nicole
I have a lot of leggings and skinny jeans, and just got an awesome pair of new riding boots that I’m dying to wear, but I need some fun tunics and long, chunky cardigans to wear with them!
