Questions and Answers

Now that the BIG NEWS cat is out of the bag, I wanted to dedicate a post to answering a handful of questions I received about us, the blog, and our new adventures ahead.

Thank you for all of the thoughtful responses and well wishes we received yesterday! We are feeling very loved and truly blessed today.

All right, let’s go ahead and dive right in, shall we?

Questions and Answers

• Are you going to keep blogging?

YES. Do you think I could go through a new journey in my life and not share it with you?  C’mon…

To answer your question on more of a long-term basis, yes! I plan to keep housewifeglamour.com afloat for years to come.

I will say, however, that I am going to have to temporarily cut back on posting every week day.  Since Scott leaves for Detroit tomorrow (<- um, wow!) I am officially the one responsible for going through things, organizing, and packing up the majority of our house.

I will be sure to check in, and still keep a focus on running a healthy living blog, but will need to tone it back to posting two or three times a week instead of five – for now.

Once we get settled and moved in, I promise to resume a more consistent, day-to-day posting schedule!

• What are you going to do for work?

Luckily, Scott has been blessed with an opportunity that will allow me to focus on blogging and writing full time.

I am currently the Social Media Assistant for Victoria Angela Photography, responsible for daily posts, wedding and engagement highlights, and running her blog.  I also submit weekly recipes to Recipe Adventures, a community blog for RV123.com.

I am still growing this site, and hope to build sponsorships, advertising, and opportunities as time goes by.  To say I am “looking forward to” finally being able to focus and dedicate more time to my blog is an understatement. I am completely and 100% PUMPED!

• Are you going to try out for a dance team?

I thought about it.  After dancing in the NBA for four seasons, then taking one off, I had the itch to try out for a fifth year.  Seeing as though auditions for the 2012-13 season have already come and gone for the Pistons, I will not be joining their team.

Generally, NBA dance teams have the latest tryouts in the year, coming after NFL and NHL.  My chances to get on a team this season to perform are pretty much impossible.

Will I try out next season? It all depends on what we’re up to!  I can’t give a yes or a no just yet.

• When do you plan to start a family?

The main reason I have been leaning towards a “no” for next year’s try outs is the thought of starting a family.  As some of you know, Scott has a good eleven years on me (shocker, right?) and he is getting pretttttty darn close to forty.

Although he likes to act twelve at times and is in great shape, his age is his age and we want to at least start a family before he hits the big 4-0.  Doing the math… that means we would technically need to start trying… like yesterday.  Oops!

Sooner than later my friends, that is all I know.

• Are you going to buy a house?

Yes! Well, maybe.  We want to, but we also want to be smart and not rush into anything.  I would love to rent a house or a town home for the first year and see how it goes.  That way, we would be able to see different areas, make sure we are where we want to be, and go from there.

• Do you really know how cold it will be?

Yes and no.  I know it is going to be painfully, dreadfully, depressingly cold for a portion of the year.  Thankfully, I will be able to get most of my work done from home, so I won’t really have to bear it as much as most.

The coldest I have ever been is walking home from the subway in Jersey City in on our latest trip to New York.  I was bundled up in a winter coat, boots and leggings, but when the cold wind blew against my Floridian skin, I could barely stand it.  I assure you the second we got out into the cold, I clung onto Scott’s arm and made him sprint the entire way back to our friend’s house.

Living in that kind of cold day after day is a different story.  Living in Florida for my entire life, I have no idea what that is like and I already know I’m going to have days where I want to hop back on a plane down South.

Luckily, the summers are hot and Michigan is filled with lakes. Those few warm months miiiight just make those unbelievably freezing ones doable.

• Are you scared about driving in the snow?

YES! Petrified, actually.  Anyone who knows me well knows I get out of driving whenever possible.  I have been in a handful of serious car accidents, with half of them being my fault.  After my most serious situation last summer, I have become a little bit paranoid about things popping up in the middle of the road and feel my heart race at silly things.

And this is in Florida!

Add snow and ice to that equation and I can’t imagine my driving anxiety any better.  I can assure you that Scott will be driving whenever possible, and I will be practicing turning, stopping, and slamming on breaks in a big empty icy parking lot before I attempt to do it on the open road.
