Yesterday was a fun-filled day of activity from start to finish! After a busy day in New York City Tuesday, I awoke bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to attend an exciting event hosted by Reebok!
A few days prior to our arrival, Julie, Gina, and I got the rundown of the Reebok Skyscape Launch Party and were pumped to be attending it representing FitFluential. We weren’t sure exactly what to expect, but it was clear that there were going to be great things awaiting us inside the Upper East Side Reebok FitHub.
We made sure to arrive early and had plenty of time to mingle and snap photos before the start of scheduled events.
Decorated in pink, purple, white and crystals, the space closely resembled a theme of what the shoe portrays: light and airy.
There were rows of yoga mats perfectly placed in the center of the cleared floor, and as we got settled in, there was a buzz about the notable guests of honor we were about to meet and workout with!
That beauty on the left is the incredibly stunning and talented Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr, an inspiring and new spokesperson for the brand.
In my opinion, Miranda and her hectic yet healthy, on-the-go superstar lifestyle displays Reebok’s values and company focus to the tee. I have been fortunate enough to work with the Reebok team just shy of a year now, and I can’t help but notice their outreach and inventory getting bigger, better, and more trendy as the months pass by.
I am really digging the Tara Stiles yoga and dance lines!

As an innovator to women’s fitness wear, they have a goal to create products that are stylish, yet comfortable enough for the every day consumer. People who wear their apparel are usually highly active and vary in their fitness activities.
Using the same effort and energy, Reebok designed the Skyscape to be a runaround shoe fit to wear in-between all of your workouts. These shoes are perfect for traveling and are meant to offer a more fashionable replacement to the standard gym shoe.
I was actually able to preview this shoe a few months ago in purple and absolutely adore all of the colors and prints I noticed on the display wall.
The Reebok Skyscape is designed to help support the foot and provide comfort day and night. Unlike many other sneakers, there are minimal rubber accents with a design of seamless construction for minimized rub and irritation.
Weighing in a an impressive (light!) five ounces, these sneakers are low-cut for added mobility and super soft, thanks to the foam material.
“So lightweight and comfortable, you’ll forget you have them on.”
Before the launch party, I had restricted my use of them to cardio classes and wore them to a dance practice or two. I never really thought about wearing them for much more that that, and I can’t give a reason why.
I often wear gym shoes around while running errands, and I loved getting ideas on how to dress them with different outfits.
You can even throw them on with a pair of jeans, a tee and a scarf!
Living in a cold climate where it snows, I have not been able to break free from my snow boots this season. Even so, I appreciate that they are also machine washable if they happen to get a little dirt or slush on them.
Since Reebok also utilizes their FitHubs as group fitness studios, a big part of this event was taking a Ballet Beautiful class from former 10-year NYC Ballerina Mary Helen Bowers!
(Roo, Julie, Mary Helen, Gina, Me)
She is most recognized for helping Natalie Portman get a long and lean ballerina physique for her role in the movie Black Swan, and works closely with Miranda on a regular basis.
Her ballet inspired style of workout is specifically catered towards busy women who don’t always have time for extensive workouts. The movements are similar to barre, but involve more flowy, bigger movements without the use of a ballet barre. I really enjoyed it and definitely plan on checking out her DVDs and online classes!
After we broke a sweat on our mats, we finished class with a stretch and took the next few minutes to recover with water, coffee, and healthy snacks like yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, egg frittatas, oatmeal, and fresh juice shooters.
I spotted a camera crew wanting to hear our thoughts on the new shoe and bringing Miranda on board, and thought Julie did a fabulous job speaking on behalf of our group.
While I was checking out some merchandise, I also got put on the hot seat for a minute. I am usually a bit nervous to get interviewed on camera, but for some reason I felt really relaxed and natural this time.
I think we all got that vibe once Miranda started jumping in with helpful advice and the occasional comical comment during class. I just love how genuine and engaging she is!
I had a good amount of time to chat with the other bloggers covering the event, and we were all more than thrilled to take part in a group interview with both Mary Helen and Miranda!
Mary Helen‘s biggest advice for clients:
• Make time for yourself! Even if it is only a little bit, do what you can as often as you can.
• Don’t look at working out as a negative punishment. See it as an every day treat to reward yourself with.
• Working out is just a part of the overall healthy lifestyle. Remember to get enough sleep and eat well too!
Miranda on how she maintains a healthy lifestyle while traveling:
• Pilates, yoga, and resistance training 3-4 times a week. While traveling, she turns to power workouts even if they are only 15 or 20 minutes long.
• Throws moves into her every day routine and makes it fun! It is not uncommon for her to complete a series of planks for 10 minutes, jump on a rebounder, go for walks, fit in a few lunges between shots, or even dance around to music with her son.
• Suggests to stick to simple workouts and moves and do what works for you. And of course, eat healthy.
As the event came to a close, we were all beaming. I had such a great time! I really enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes look at the strategies and people connected to new products.
I feel grateful for having the opportunity to travel to the FitHubs and hope to see them again in the future. Thank you, Reebok!

The shoes are adorable. I really love how you can wear them with so much, not just workout gear! That’s a big deal when your job is in a gym and you have to run errands or whatever after, you don’t want to ALWAYS feel like you came from a workout.
Heather
Definitely! As a former barre instructor and a dancer, i know the feeling. Loving the variety of things I can wear these with!
Ashley
How fun! I can’t wait to get my Skyscapes! All you gals rock ’em well!
Heather
Thanks! You are going to love them 🙂

Hi Heather,
I think it’s so great that you went on this trip. Over the past year, I have seen Reebok totally makeover its brand and it sure helps to have bloggers like you promoting it.
I teach Les Mills group fitness classes, and since Reebok has a partnership with Les Mills I was sent some capris to try. I absolutely love them, especially the fabric. Such quality stuff. I need more!!
Thanks for providing such detailed recaps and reviews of all the fitness gear you try. And that’s way cool you met a celeb. 🙂
Best,
Ashley
