Hello, hello! I hope you guys all had a great weekend, Super Bowl Sunday, and start to your Monday. Ours was very white and filled with snowflakes with a crazy blizzard that rolled in yesterday.
I am checking in a lot later today because I have thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with a group of friends that are in town. Some of their flights were either snowed in or cancelled, so both Scott and I were thrilled to get the extra time to hang!
Social Kitchen & Bar
One fun highlight of our weekend was brunch at a favorite spot in Birmingham called Social. They have a fantastic brunch menu and events on the rooftop during the summer. We’ve never been that time of year, but have always wanted to check it out when it’s nice enough to be open.
We started with a round of mango mimosas while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. I wasn’t complaining.
I’m personally not a fan of Bloody Mary’s, but if I was, this is definitely where I would get one. They have a Bloody Mary bar filled with a variety of unique treats to load up your glass… including Cheetos.
Whatever works, right?
The boys did a great job of keeping the conversation going and, you know, writing on each others’ faces.
I asked for them to snap a “normal” photo for us which proved to be a challenge.

In true brunch fashion, we ordered a ridiculously large sweet treat to split while we waited for our entrees to arrive.
(Holy sticky bun of goodness, Batman.)
Just like last time, I couldn’t get over the create your own skillet option. Five out of six of us ordered different versions, and I was anything but shy in my choice in toppings.
Hashbrown potatoes, tomatoes, banana peppers, green peppers, cilantro, egg whites, and avocado.
Everything was so good!
About an hour or so later, we wrapped up our meal and noticed a huge snowfall starting outside. We were sitting in the covered patio area, so it was really cool to see fall down right around us. It felt like we were in a snow globe!
(Finally got that “normal” photo.)
We were projected to get over ten inches over the course of the night. We left Birmingham with just enough time to get to a friend’s house and I was looking forward to watching the Super Bowl with everyone. We tried our best to hurry there since it was coming down fast!
Probably like most of you, we spent the night glued to the television watching the Big Game while enjoying an unnecessary amount of snacks. It was a great final quarter, wasn’t it?
It wasn’t a surprise when we woke up to a winter wonderland the next morning.
I took Roadie out for his morning walk and can’t remember the last time there was this much snow in our front yard!
He was a bit confused on where exactly to use the restroom. It was so cute to see him bounce and sniff about!
The roads are plowed enough to get through today, but we have been enjoying a lazy day in with rest and plenty of time to catch up with friends.
Posts here might be a little on the lighter side this week, but I can assure you that it’s for a great reason. The new blog launches in seven days, y’all! I plan to post once a day until the launch and will be spending my afternoons getting everything ready on the back end.
Enjoy the rest of your day and I will see you tomorrow!

We received about the same amount of snow and the whole city has shut down for the day! Not complaining though, its given me some time to catch up on things I was way behind on!
Definitely the silver lining!
Hi Heather! Looks like a wonderful time with friends. I can’t believe that snow!! Stay warm! 🙂
I know right? Crazy! Thanks!
The snow looks so beautiful! Looking forward to the new site 🙂
Thanks – me too! 😉
What a fun weekend! Your brunch looks fabulous! Thanks for linking up!
Thanks for hosting! Have a great week, Erin!
I’m with you, no bloody mary’s. Blech! Looks like an awesome brunch spot, though! And you are too adorable in your hooded coat. 😉
Aw, ha! Thank you love!
So jealous of your mounds of snow! We were supposed to get quite a bit too but it ended up getting a little too warm and well that led to just slush and a whole lot of nothing! Although my puppy did get a little window to jump around in it before it melted away!
Dogs playing in the snow are the cutest 🙂
Look at that snow! I miss it! That brunch looked absolutely heavenly. Brunch is the best! And what a fun spin on a bloody mary. I hope you had fun and stayed warm.
Thank you, we did!
Woah! So much snow!! I love your furry hooded coat. Looking forward to the new site! I’m curious to know what you’ve been working on. 🙂
Thanks so much! Me too 😉
Those bloody marys look absolutely amazing! Also, any excuse for cheese doodles is alright in my book!
The snow drifts were crazy over here! I opened my front door and couldn’t get out! Secretly loving it though 🙂
Sometimes it’s fun to be “stuck” indoors for a day or so… 😉
Oh shucks – no snow here in North Carolina. Just cold cold cold. I would LOVE a snow day!
Look at all that snow!!! I wish we’d get more here in Richmond 🙂 That brunch place looks cute!
Love your brown boots! If you don’t mind, would you share the brand/where they are from?
Thanks!!
Thank you! They are Steve Madden and I got them from Nordstrom Rack about two years ago!
I can’t believe that snow! Your brunch looks amazing and I hope you enjoyed your weekend. The Super Bowl was a crazy game for sure!!
Thanks Lauren, I certainly did. Have a great week!
