Good morning! I feel like Thursdays are all over the place… anyone else?
I always wake up excited that Friday is just around the corner. They usually fly by. Thursday is also the night we usually have some kind of outing or event, if there is one during the week. Tonight we are going out to dinner to celebrate a special engagement!
Anyways, I guess this would be a great segue into an introduction for Thinking Out Loud. I joined the link-up a few weeks ago and thought it was fun to randomly talk about things going in our lives with y’all. Most of you seem to like this series too, so here we are.
Enjoy the scramble of thoughts!
• I think I am doing pretty well with our holiday shopping.
Or, so I think…
For the first time in many, many years, I finally won’t be scrambling around at the last minute trying to purchase gifts and send them out. Since we moved away from my family, it forces me to be on top of my game and actually mail presents on a decent timeline. So far, my best successes have come through Amazon and online Black Friday Sales! (<- most stores offer a gift wrap option upon check out too!)
• I’m still not sure if we’re doing holiday cards this year.
We didn’t send out Christmas cards last year. There was just too much going on! The year before, I made a DIY Letter Christmas Card and our friends and family loved the update and pictures.
Maybe I’ll revisit that. There sure are plenty of updates to share!
• I seriously can’t wait for the new site to launch.
There has been a lot of progress in the design and organization of the new site! Every time I look at an update, it makes me want to start using the platform… like now. We’re aiming to have everything finished by the end of next month and are still on track to launch the first week of February!
• I’m secretly hoping Scott will be okay with keeping the Christmas tree up year-round.
Only because it makes me so happy.
It’s on at all times of the day until we go upstairs for the night. I’m sure our electric bill will reflect my love for the lights, but… it’s kind of worth it.
• I just realized Ed Sheeran’s newest single is also called Thinking Out Loud.
I’ve been obsessed with the song for months, but that lightbulb and connection just happened. Hello, Captain Obvious.
• That video also just reminded me of Carrie Underwood’s latest hit featuring professional dancers.
Kudos to her. I love, love, love that video!
• I still think Ed Sheeran is one of the best artists to see live.
He’s so, so talented and very entertaining. Especially for a one man show!
• I just completed a killer circuit workout.
Phew! It’s a good one! Be sure to check back this afternoon for the details.
• I’m loving my new job.
To be completely honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a personal trainer.
I knew I wanted to start a career in the fitness industry (hence my reason for becoming a CPT), but I always figured I would work with small and large groups of people in classes. I didn’t really have the desire to work 1-on-1 with clients. Welp, after almost two weeks of training to do just that, I really, really think I’m going to enjoy it.
I love being able to create workouts specifically for someone’s needs and am learning so much about exercise varieties and modifications.
When I get a little more settled and actually start training my own clients, I’ll be sure to share more information about how it’s going!
• I really like being busy.
I feel like my life just did a total 180° flip. I went from working at home all day to jumping from place to place to place. There’s definitely a part of me that thrives off of that kind of schedule. I’m loving it!
• I really love all of you.
Thank you all for being so patient throughout the changes that have been going on around here. It might take me a couple more weeks to figure out exactly when to balance blogging as much as I’d like into my schedule, but I’m determined to do it. I love stopping in and chatting with you all throughout the day.
Also, thank you for expressing your support with the new blog domain and transition. I never would have made the leap to move forward with it if you guys weren’t on board. Y’all are the best! <3

All right. It’s time for me to get moving!
I’m off to court to prove that I do indeed have car insurance. I told you… I probably shouldn’t drive in Michigan anymore. I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, but the “Michigan Left” u-turns really got me this time. I didn’t get a ticket, but I also didn’t find an insurance card in Scott’s car when I got pulled over. Convenient, right?
Oh well. All should return back to normal this afternoon.
See ya later with that circuit workout!
Question of the Morning
• What is one thing you would would say if you were thinking out loud today?
Popcorn Sami
I was thinking the same about holiday cards! I had a though that was like– What if I send an email newsletter?! But it’s not the same. Good luck in court– been there, done that a few times with the insurance biz.
Also, if you are looking for something to do in a few weeks, Kuhnhenn’s is having their Winter Solstice celebration. Very wacky and a fun time to dress up! Definitely something different.
congrats again about the new lifestyle change with work!
Heather
What?!? That sounds fun! I definitely need to check it out. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
Hi Heather! Happy Thursday! Glad the new site design and plans are going well, can’t wait to see it. And getting situated in a new routine isn’t always easy, but looks like you are taking it in stride. Enjoy!
Heather
Thanks, Ashley!! I’m excited for the final product 🙂

Cute holiday card/letter. I should do something like that I always feel like cards are just a picture of my kids, you can get that anywhere. But a funny letter could be the ticket? Super cute!

My mom use to have a Christmast tree that she kept up all year. It was a skinny tree and she decorated it with every holiday. It wasn’t bit like a Christmas tree though. It was a lot of fun. http://www.eatallovertheworld.weebly.com

I would totally keep my tree up year round if people didn’t look at me weirdly… heck, maybe I should do it anyways 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Your tree is so pretty! I’ve had white lights on mine for a couple of years now, but I do miss the colourful lights that we had on the tree back home. And no matter how many times I tell myself that I”m not going to leave my shopping until the last minute, somehow it always ends up happening anyways. In my defence, though, I think the rush helps get me into the Christmas mood a little bit more 😀

Yay for loving training clients!! I’m uber jealous! I can’t wait to start my certification process and get certified next year! And I’m the same way! I love coming home in the afternoon and knowing I got a lot done!
Christina @ The Beautiful Balance
That Christmas letter is such a great idea! And I am super excited to see the new site! I have wanted to change my site for…well okay its been a year since I had my site designed but I’m already over it and the name so I can relate.

If I were thinking out loud I would say that I am SO glad I took a day off work yesterday. I spent most the day sleeping and watching the View. I am in the fitness industry too – a Group Fitness Director for a large organization – and things have gotten insane as the New Year picks up. I forgot I needed a break once in a whole though!
Glitz Glam Gluten-Free
Yay for so many awesome developments on this list– that’s wonderful that you are loving your new job and being busy, and I can’t wait to see the new site! I finally got the ornaments on my Christmas tree tonight and am really loving it too! It’s so festive– though I have to get on my game and finish getting my presents! Oh and I love that Carrie Underwood song too!
Heather
Thanks so much! Me too. Yay for the tree!
Jenny Bender
I love your tree!! 🙂 Thinking aloud…hm…how I haven’t really done a good job of PLANNING Christmas activities this year, but I’m trying to just roll with it and enjoy the season! So far it’s working out! 🙂
Heather
Sometimes that’s all you can do!

I’m SO excited for your new blog and to learn what it is! I actually am tackling all mine just to keep costs down, but professional design is definitely in the future (assuming everything goes well with switching!). I watched the Ed Sheeran concert from the iTunes Festival and man, he sure is awesome. I would love to see him live because you’re right – so amazing! Thanks for thinking out loud – I like learning what’s on your mind! (Did that come off as creepy? Sorry! haha)
Heather
Haha not at all. I love reading these types of posts for some reason, which is why I do them from time to time. Thanks, I’m so excited too!!! Kudos to you for tackling it on the back end. I could do it…. maybe…. I just have a fear of typing or clicking something wrong and seeing the whole site crash. I WOULD do that, lol. Glad to hear I’m not alone loving Ed!
