Hi there! Today I’m coming to you with a compilation of my favorite clean makeup products from Beautycounter. I’ve been partnering with the brand for less than a year, but I have learned a lot about the products and the importance of switching to safer ones in that time.
I am a huge advocate for doing my best for my family, and choosing clean, high-quality skincare and makeup products that are free of harmful chemicals and toxins for myself is included in that priority.
(Check out my Clean Beauty page if this is all new to you.)
It took me years to finally decide to switch out my go-to makeup for cleaner products because I second guessed the quality. They just can’t be as good, right? Well, that statement is wrong, my friends … so, so wrong.
Beautycounter is known for amazing skincare, but the makeup is just as spectacular in my book. It really is. The colors, shades, and ingredients are just better without the extra junk your body doesn’t need to be exposed to.
So, how did I get to the large collection that I have today without breaking the bank? I started small with replacing whatever I was running out of, I cashed in on a ton of host rewards (more on this below) along with my (constant 25% off) consultant discount, and now I have almost everything in my makeup bag replaced with a safer option. That feels good!
Selecting clean, high-quality makeup can be more affordable and easier to do than you might think. Please reach out if I can help you in any way!
We’ll get onto the makeup very soon, but first, let’s quickly chat about the importance of what goes on under it as a starting point.
A GREAT FACE STARTS WITH GREAT SKINCARE.
Many people ask about what they can use to cover up different problem areas like under eye circles, blemishes, redness, etc. The truth is, if you have a good, clean skincare routine, you don’t need a ton of makeup to cover up your skin. It will eventually clear itself up and even out more than you ever thought it could!
This might seem like a loaded claim, but I’m living proof y’all. Check out my Countertime Line Review and my Top Beautycounter Skincare Products for more on that.
So, on top of a tested and trusted regimen, I help my skin live up to its full potential by drinking plenty of water, taking a multivitamin and a collagen supplement for added healthy skin, joint, and bone support, getting enough sleep (or at least trying my best), eating nutritious foods, and wearing mineral sunscreen.
And now that I have a great base to start with, here’s a list of the makeup I turn to in order to finish the look!
MY TOP 10 MAKEUP PICKS
Beautycounter skincare is fantastic, but the makeup is just as great if not better, in my opinion. It all just feels high-end, clean, and good for your skin, ya know?
Below are my top go-to products that I typically recommend and why, based on what makes them similar, but also unique to other products on the market.
Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
This is a sheer tinted moisturizer with minimal coverage, but it has a SPF 20 built in. I wear the No 2 shade almost every day, and I love how it provides an extra moisturizing layer with a little color (and mineral sunscreen!).
This one gives a dewy finish with glow-boosting ingredients – black currant seed oil, peony root extract, and vitamin C for increased appearance of firmness and radiance over time. It’s perfect for everyday wear for me paired with the Touchup Skin Concealer Pen and Mattifying Powder. (More on these two below.)
Skin Twin Featherlight Foundation
This product launched a few months ago, and it’s worth all the hype and then some. It’s makeup and skincare in one step (yes!), and contains hyaluronic acid to help plump skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.
The word featherlight is in the title, and it’s because it’s a lightweight formula that is also made to layer. I apply mine with the Retractable Foundation Brush (recently washed and not fully dried in these photos) for medium coverage and never have that feeling of wanting to take my makeup off throughout the day. (Have you ever felt this way with heavier formulas? Yikes.) You can get more coverage by using your fingers or a sponge. It’s a wonderful product, and I love the glass bottle with the new pump top for extra control.
Use this tool to help pick out which shade is right for you. (I can always help, too!)
Color Pinch Liquid Blusher
This product is so unique and versatile! I use it every single day on my cheeks, lips, and even on my eyelids when I don’t use shadow and want a slight pop of color. I use the Hibiscus shade, and it’s so fun and simple to use — no brush needed. If you’ve never tried a cream blusher before, this is a must-have in your makeup bag.
On top of the color, it also hydrates and conditions skin with jojoba esters and carnauba wax. And I especially love the lid and twist bottom that travels into any purse or bag for easy, on-the-go touch-ups!
Brilliant Brow Gel
I had no idea what I was missing out on by not touching my eyebrows other than shaping them until I found this product. Sure, I have used pencils in the past, but I have dark enough brows that I never really “needed” anything else to add to the look.
Friends, this is brow gel is fabulous. The gel grooms and sets your brows where you want them and adds a hit of color for the appearance of thicker, fuller, natural-looking brows. I wear Medium, and the gel comes in a variety of shades including clear for an invisible finish. Oh my gosh, try it!
Velvet Eyeshadow Palette – Iconic
I have to admit that I wasn’t sure I was going to like Beautycounter eyeshadows as much as my beloved MAC shades. As a former professional dancer who owned every color under the rainbow and applied several color combinations on the regular, I appreciate a good eyeshadow palette when I see one.
This post is highlighting this specific palette because I can go light with classic or romantic shades, or dress it up with a bold eye or statement blue color. It’s seriously the best. If that isn’t your thing, there are a few other palettes available that are also great. And the quality is top-notch. I haven’t felt a need to invest in another one, yet, but I will eventually.
(I scored this eye shadow palette on sale for $37.50, and its still available at that price for a limited time online!)
Radiant All Over Bronzer
I used to bypass the bronzer step, but then I moved away from Florida and realized that I missed that naturally sun-kissed skin. I’ve tried several bronzers throughout the years, and some are good while others are way too sparkly or shimmery for me. Beautycounter’s Radiant All Over Bronzer nailed it with the perfect blend of everything I was looking for, and it can be worn on the face and body alone or on top of makeup.
The compact comes with a removable mirror, which is always needed when out and about. I use the one pictured in Dune on my cheeks, forehead, and neck, and it’s lasted me quite a while.
Touchup Skin Concealer Pen
This concealer pen is the very first Beautycounter purchase I made back in 2015! I really like the clickable pen, and just a little bit goes a long way.
Concealer helps the skin look firmer, brighter, and instantly more even. Sometimes it’s all I use to help cover dark circles, redness, and other imperfections that pop up like blemishes, and it’s extremely buildable.
I should note that if you purchase this one, give it several clicks to start. It tends to take a while and then shoots out after the perfect amount of clicks. This threw me off when I thought it was taking too long, but then it works great for every use thereafter.
Mattifying Powder
This product replaced my bareMinerals powder that I swore by for years and years. It’s a finishing powder that sets makeup, absorbs shine, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and pores.
I was weary of the white color at first, but I really like it now. The powder leaves a smooth finish to the skin without a white residue, and I highly recommend pairing it to set the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer or any foundation. Try it with the Fan Powder Brush for fast application!
Precision Liquid Eyeliner
When it comes to eyeliner, I’ve had it all … from the expensive name-brands to what you can find at any local drugstore. And I’m so happy to report that I absolutely love Beautycounter’s liquid eyeliner. It’s extremely easy to use and can offer completely different looks, depending on the application.
Liquid eyeliner isn’t easy for everyone to apply, but I’m confident in saying that you can master it with a little bit of practice. I don’t use eyeliner every day, but I do add it to the corners of my upper eyelids often as well as a bolder look for fun nights out. It’s a rich matte-formula that can really dress up your look and creates everything from thin, sharp lines to thick, dramatic wings! Plus, it can last up to twelve hours.
Lip Glosses, Sheer Lipsticks, and Color Intense Lipsticks
Beautycounter lip products are very impressive to me. Not only are they extremely clean, but the colors range anywhere from barely there to very bright, and they last a long time.
The lip glosses go on smooth and are far from sticky, which is what I can’t stand about other brands. They feel moisturizing and have a pleasant but subtle vanilla flavor. Pictured here is Bare Shimmer, and I also really love Azalea, Dahlia, and Fig to be dramatic (but it’s not as dark in person).
There’s also a big variety in the lipsticks. Sheer lipsticks are great for everyday barely-there wear and provide hydration with a hint of sheen. Color Intense Lipsticks make more of a statement, and I absolutely love the shades I have in 9-5, First Date, and Beautycounter Red for a vibrant, bold orange-red. And then there’s the boldest and cutest of them all with this Give ‘Em Lip Trio.
Also included in the picture above is a shade from The Jellies along with a sparkly number from the Mini Lip Gloss Vault, both of which were purchased over the holidays. Neither are available right now, but they will make their return closer to the end of the year. And they’re all just so good. I honestly wouldn’t include them all if I felt differently!

STARTER SETS
Flawless In Five
If you’d like to try a collection of starter products, I highly recommend the Flawless In Five. It comes with six products that are customizable (tinted moisturizer or foundation, concealer pen, mascara, blush, brow pencil or brow gel, and lip gloss), and takes five minutes to do the routine every day. It’s $150 and gets you $187 worth of product.
Get The Look
Another great starter option is the Get The Look set, which comes in a variety of shades and themes with four products each. The bundle includes a velvet eye shadow palette, eyeliner, bronzer or highlighter, and a lipstick. There are three different looks from classic to statement, and there’s even a tool that shows you what each set looks like on different skin tones.

A FEW MORE RECOMMENDATIONS
- Satin Powder Blush. If you aren’t into the cream blusher mentioned above, the more traditional satin powder blush is great. I use Nectar or Guava.
- Mascara. Beautycounter offers a Volumizing or Lengthening formula. It’s a lot more subtle (less dramatic) than your average find at the drug store, but I like the more natural look these days and wear it often. Plus, it’s completely clean, which is so important, especially around your eyes. I have the Volumizing, but I’ve heard layering both does wonders and I’m going to give that a try!
- Illuminating Cream Highlighter. A sheer, blend-able, and buildable highlighter that gives a delicate, dewy finish. There’s also a powder highlighter, and I’ve heard nothing but great things about both.
- Essential Brush Set. I received a new bundle of MAC brushes right before I partnered with Beautycounter, so I don’t own any of ours right now. A few of my family members do, however, and they really love them.
BEFORE & AFTER MAKEUP USE
- Counter+ All Bright C Serum. This is technically in the skincare category, but it’s been my favorite summer addition for glowing, radiant skin. If you only try two Beautycounter products – ever – try this one paired with the Overnight Resurfacing Peel!
- Lip Conditioner in Peppermint. This is a very luxurious, clean lip balm that feels so good. I keep this one with my skincare products and use it in the morning and night (versus carrying it around all day.)
- Countersun Mineral Sunscreens (sprays, lotions, and stick). I’ve been loving the stick to throw in my purse or diaper bag, and there’s a brand-new daily facial sunscreen out, too! The body sprays vary from a regular mineral sunscreen aerosol to an added tint of color.
- Makeup wipes. These are great for travel, for after a workout or for keeping in your purse. (And they’re back after being sold our for a while!)
- Instant Eye Makeup Remover. This is a customer favorite for sure, and it’s never irritated my eyes like some wipes or other formulas have. Use this every night to get rid of eye make-up.
DISCOUNTS
If you’ve never ordered from Beautycounter before, you can get your entire order at 20% off! Simply reach out to me to get the promo code and save big on a full cart at checkout. (This does exclude regimens and our newest products.)
This would make a huge difference if you’re looking to get multiple things. And if that’s the case, I highly recommend going with a starter kit for the biggest value, but I can help even the smallest of budgets with a starting point that goes a long way.
If you’re going to be spending $100 or more, you should definitely become a Band of Beauty Member. It’s basically a mix between Amazon Prime and Nordstrom Rewards, but with Beautycounter. It’s a one-time $29 fee that gets you free shipping on any orders $100+ for the year (normally $6.95 per order), product credit back (if you spend $320, you’d get $32 back to use on the site in the future … which, alone, already paid for the perks), AND a free gift upon sign up. This month, the gift is the brand new Think Clean Duo ($43 value) that features two best-sellers – the Overnight Resurfacing Peel and the Charcoal Mask in travel sizes.
You can add the membership to your cart here. (But please know, the 20% off does not apply to this part of the purchase.)
Also, I run online pop-ups throughout the year and cash in on serious rewards that include free and 50% off products. I can’t redeem them all, so I am always looking for co-hosts to cash in on the rewards. I would be doing all of the posting and talking, and you would simply invite your friends to the group to learn about the importance of clean beauty!
Please let me know if you’re interested in this or even a referral link that I can make for you to send to your friends and earn credits for free an 50% off product. It can be so easy to earn big rewards!
Thank you for stopping by the blog today, friends!
