I can’t believe the day of this launch has finally come. Welcome to Life In Leggings!

To all of my friends clicking over from Housewife Glamour: Welcome, and thank you so much for continuously following this blogging journey of mine! It really does mean the world to me.

I hope you enjoy the new site as much as I do and can navigate your way around easily.

The inspiration for a new site design came from several frustrations with the old blog set-up and theme. I loved the look, but because it was so customized, I wasn’t able to create sub-pages and archive recent and old posts like I needed to. After a post went live, I felt like it disappeared off into cyber space and was never seen again unless I brought it back up with a link share.

There were also several simple navigational and aesthetic functionalities I have been wanting to change and incorporate that most people can with an easy click of a button. Realizing all of these things really discouraged me, so a site re-design was my clear answer.

With the decision to move forward with a re-design came the thought of changing my blog name all at once to make everything one transition and as painless as possible. I have been wanting to change my blog name since the first year I launched Housewife Glamour in 2011! Really.

I came up with the name Housewife Glamour as a blog title when I was a newlywed, while I was also overly into being Betty Homemaker and creating everything do-it-yourself. Since then, my focus has changed into documenting healthy living, but I kept the name and built a following around that brand for three years.

I grew a decent following with it, but I just wasn’t confident. I would go to blogging events and introduce myself as “Heather from Housewife Glamour” and then explain why I write about healthy living. I probably didn’t have to, but I always felt the need to justify myself, or go directly into “but… I’m changing it.” I ended up doing that for over two years! Exhausting.

After months of racking my brain, I came up with the blog name Life In Leggings out of the blue. It literally hit me when I was foam rolling on the floor (in leggings) one night.

I love leggings. As a personal trainer, gym rat, runner, and dancer, I am always in leggings. Essentially, I live in leggings and write about everything active I do during the day (in them) here on a blog. This, friends, is life in leggings.

As soon as I said it out loud, I knew that was it. I adopted it as my own and had the hardest time keeping it a secret.

I purchased the domain lifeinleggings.com a couple of days later. I went onto Twitter and Instagram next and quickly realized I wasn’t going to be able to use the handle @lifeinleggings. Bummer, right?

Since I was so convinced this should be my blog name, I rolled with it and came up with a handle as close as I could. You can now find and follow me on Twitter and Instagram at @lifenleggings!

Along with an amazing team (thanks, Jeff!), I have made following the new blog, channels, and even e-mail subscribe as effortless on your part as possible. You might want to bookmark the new domain, but other than that, you should be able to keep following me on the same channels you’ve already liked, followed, or subscribed to.

Facebook is a little tricky at the moment, but I am currently in the process of officially changing the page name. Bear with me there!

One thing I am really excited about with this launch is finally committing to writing a monthly (possibly bi-weekly) newsletter. The email subscribe in the follow box you see above is to receive daily posts sent to your email inbox, and the newsletter is new and original content separately written and shared by me.

Here, I will check in with you guys, highlight what’s been going on at Life In Leggings, share a mix of new and already posted content, and pass on some of the good online sales, giveaways, and sweepstakes information I constantly get in my email box.

  42. I love everything about the redesign!! At first I didn’t think the name change was necessary because “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” But, now that I’m seeing it all in front of me I absolutely think it was the right choice!
