Hi, hello and how are you friend?
It’s been a while since we’ve chatted here, and it’s time that I share a few updates with you.
Things are going well here in Brooklyn, and it looks like Scott and I might just be on the other side of this extremely confusing season that we have been living in throughout this global pandemic and in New York City.
I’d be naive in saying that we’re through all of the scary stuff, so I’m not saying that at all. I think it’s important to acknowledge that. But, thankfully, it looks like Scott’s business stayed afloat long enough to survive the turbulence, as he is now busier than ever with gigs, projects and travel again. (Phew, thank goodness! God is good.)
As for me, I have thoroughly enjoyed revisiting the old days of writing consistently here on the blog, with a goal that has always been to create a lighthearted space filled with helpful information on health and fitness. Since deciding to leave my full-time job as a Studio Manager back in February 2020, I have appreciated using this specific creative side of my brain that was pushed aside for years. Writing, creating and publishing articles and content that might help even one person has been a passion of mine since I started Life In Leggings (rebranded from my former blog) back in 2011. Logging on, chatting and hopefully leaving takeaways with you is something that fills my cup more than I can express!
That said, life is evolving, uninterrupted time to plug away has been sparse, and my focus and energy has been steered towards new things and opportunities. I LOVE the freedom in what I do here, but it’s time to shift my time and hours into the next step that leads to growth I see an unlimited potential in. At least temporarily.
Please don’t misunderstand this post as a farewell, as that is the last thing that I hope to do!
My intention is to keep Life In Leggings more than alive and filter content onto this page as much as I can. I’ll be checking in here in there with things, but – at the moment – the hours that I have to work on my business(es) need to be spent progressing what I can offer you, the reader, and possibly even future client as soon as possible. And that requires less time here … for now.
I have officially started the process of creating content that makes sense and is packaged in a way that is easy to follow along, read and learn. Instead of leading you everywhere on the blog and in different directions and emails when answering questions, I have a dream of offering programs and topics that lead you through the exact steps you need in real-time, depending on what problem you’re looking to solve.
I’ll be sharing more information and updates as things unfold, but I am currently in the midst (very beginning stages) of creating my first online course that helps you simplify and build habits that come after ditching extremes to living and loving a healthy lifestyle. I specifically want to help women that “don’t have the time” for meal prepping, structured workouts, or spending much time on themselves. I’ve been there, and I totally get that struggle.
I’m sharing my experience, my personal testimonies, and my professional advice as a Certified Personal Trainer, Women’s Fitness Specialist and Certified Nutrition Coach to teach you the fundamentals that actually produce results.
My plan is to expand on this with different programs, and I would love to pick your brain when it comes to niching down to exactly what you might be interested in next. (Fitness bootcamps? Pre/Postnatal workout programming? A 30-day clean eating/nutrition reset? Hitting your goals through counting macros?)
This week marked a new chapter for me, both personally and professionally, and I am typing this update with the BIGGEST smile on my face. I have honestly been waiting to embark on this specific step for years. YEARS!
Do you know what’s been holding me back? Fear of failure. Insecurities. Waiting for the “perfect time” and “perfect space” to film videos. Myself. All things that shouldn’t.
So, friend, today I wanted to thank you for being here and supporting this page and my journey. You really have no idea how much your messages, comments and emails have meant to me over the years. As most of you know, there have been low lows paired with the high highs, and showing up even when I didn’t “feel like it” during the hardest seasons happened because of you. You inspire me to be here and share what I do. I am eternally grateful.
This definitely isn’t the last you’ll see from this blog, and my goal is to get back to creating semi-regular content that relates to the courses once the first one launches. In the mean time, you can stay updated with everything and see new, regular content by following Life In Leggings on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Pinterest and Twitter.
I’ll be back before you know it, really. Love you and thank you again for being here!
xo,
Heather
