The day is finally here. It’s Opening Night, which means tonight’s game officially kicks off the start to the 2013-14 NBA season for the Detroit Pistons!
<Woot!>
With an early call time and an even earlier flight time out to Florida in the morning, today is jammm packed. Let’s get right down to business and go over yesterday’s eats for this week’s What I Ate Wednesday.
(Thanks for hosting another week, Jenn!)
What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday
I woke up yesterday wanting breakfast in a hurry. Putting the ever popular pumpkin dishes aside for the day, I broke out the cereal for an effortless meal to start the day.
Okay, fine. This even included pumpkin. I’ve mentioned this Nature’s Path Pumpkin Raisin Crunch a handful of times now. This time I mixed it with Kashi Heart To Heart Honey Toasted Oat Cereal and topped it with frozen blueberries.
Even with frozen fruit, this bowl was the bomb.
Somehow I missed a usual morning snack and hopped right into lunch with another stab at this Mango Berry Protein Smoothie I made Monday.
Relatively full, that held me over well into my afternoon workout in the basement with Cathe.
With temperatures dropping down to the thirties this week, I haven’t gotten the thick skin to run outside in the cold yet. I’m just not ready for it. So, I have been enjoying brushing up on my home workout videos when I don’t have enough time to fit in a trip to the gym.
I’m not going to name any names (Roadie) but some family members have enjoyed this extra basement “playtime” I’ve been partaking in.
Others (Aspen) continue to remain wrapped up in sleeping the afternoon away with the best of ’em.
I completed three tabatas and a ten minute core routine that left me nice and sweaty with just enough time to get in the shower and get ready for our last halftime rehearsal.
I brought this bowl of quinoa, sweet potatoes, corn, and an Al Fresco spinach and feta chicken sausage with me for fuel!
Knowing it was going to be a long night, I made my way over to grab a cup of vending machine coffee before things got started.
Yes, that would be hot coffee… from a vending machine. You gotta do what you gotta do.
This practice was an exciting one! It was the first time we saw all of the lights and lasers ready for game intros. I’ll be sure to share more pictures tomorrow but for now I will let you all in on a few sneak peeks.
(Not pictured is me eating a Designer Whey Peanut Butter Crunch protein bar mid-rehearsal.)
So flipping excited for tonight’s festivities!
Tired and hungry, I arrived home right before midnight with an angry rumble in my tummy. Since it was late, I wanted to stay aboard the healthy train as much as possible and decided on a tomato, cucumber and spring mix salad topped in ground pepper and a light olive oil & vinaigrette dressing.
…and a glass of Carnation Breakfast Chocolate Malt Mix to curb my chocolate craving.
…and a few hearty handfuls of chips and salsa (not pictured). Whoops!
Okay, friends. I’m off. First stop: the mall for a few last minute accessories, second stop: eyebrows, third stop: it’s game time! See ya in the early morning! 😀
