Good morning party peeps! Or should I say goodnight? Or… ???
I typed up this post to publish earlier this afternoon (well, technically yesterday afternoon) and as soon as I went to save it, my blog basically exploded. Nothing was working and when I tried to log back into WordPress all I could see was a bunch of funky HTML coding. Pretty exciting right?
Eventually, I gave up on it for the day and headed out to practice crossing my fingers and toes it would come back to me in English. Three HUGE cheers going out to my tech savvy friend, Chris! You always know exactly how to help me with problems on the back end in Housewife Glamour Land and I really can’t thank you enough for being there. Every time. You ROCK!
Now that we’re all caught up on that, it’s time to go back to the regular scheduled programming. Which, ironically started like this:
Today is just… not going how I planned. In fact, this whole week seems to be on that track. I blame the busy-ness of the season, on top of holiday shopping (and still putting gift guides together… stay tuned!), the snowy weather, and my incessant need to catch up on sleep as the culprit.
I swear, I don’t even hear my alarm anymore. It could be right next to my ear and go off seven times before I notice anything is happening. <- Scott really appreciates this trait about me. 😉
Anyways, here we are… another late morning and afternoon of me trying to fit in everything I need to before needing to get out the door for practice. Please forgive me for this “hi and bye” What I Ate Wednesday posting style today as a result.
What I Ate Wednesday Monday
I guess the in and out see ya later type of day I have been having is fitting for this week’s eats too. Today I am taking a look back at Monday, which was pretty similar. Lucky for me, there was a whole ‘lotta grab and go healthy eats ready and waiting for me.
Breakfast happened on my way out to the gym. Since I wasn’t hungry earlier in the morning (<- um, weird) I enjoyed the normal giant cup of coffee on it’s own after I woke up. At about 11 a.m. it hit me that I needed some kind of fuel before attempting an intense workout and grabbed two staples I can always find around here.
(Fudge Graham Zone Perfect protein bar + a banana.)
I arrived with the mindset of finishing Fitness Pilates and a good treadmill run before returning home, which is exactly what happened. I needed to test out a new pair of running shoes – the recently released Mizuno Wave Rider 17 (I have been loooving by the way) – so I concluded my workout with three miles on the treadmill.
I was a very hungry bear walking back out to my car and only had a short amount of time at home before I needed to get out the door again. These are the types of days I am so thankful to have a healthy café in the gym lobby!
I quickly ordered a Mocha Madness, but changed it up with a few substitutions and enjoyed every sip on the way home.
(Almond milk, Mocha Java Boost, and Vega protein powder.)
After a shower, I got ready and in my practice clothes to spend the remainder of the afternoon at the computer. I have actually been eating like this a lot lately. Hey, whatever works right?
(Life Café Cobb Salad: mixed greens, free-range chicken, avocado, blue cheese, nitrate-free bacon, tomato, egg, and cheddar cheese with what I thought was vinaigrette dressing. After one bite I realized it was honey mustard, which I absolutely despise. Somehow I got over it and ate the salad anyways… everything else was really, really good!)
I worked straight through the afternoon and before I knew it I needed to leave for practice. It was a tough one!
(On the way I fueled up with this Chocolate Chip Clif bar. It was pretty good and reminded me of eating a healthy cookie.)
We started with a team workout (yes… another one for me for the day. Surprise!) and went over routines for the next few hours. By the time I walked back in the door around 9:30 p.m., I my appetite was unreal.
It was late, but I was hungry and worked hard for a great meal. So that’s what I made myself. Dinner started with a full can of Amy’s Organic Light in Sodium Vegetable Lentil Soup.
(Still rockin’ as my favorite soup and freezer brand these days!)
I had a full spicy seasoned chicken breast left over from dinner over the weekend, so I made a meal out of it by cooking a pot of Near East Toasted Almond Rice Pilaf. With a serving (or two?) under it and a few leftover asparagus heads on top I was a very happy camper.
Not pictured is also three clementines I had after for dessert.
Hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday. Thanks for catching up and stoppin’ by for this late edition of WIAW. See you again later on today!

I frickin LOVE the Life Cafe!!!! They have seriously updated it within the past few years. Although I go to the lifetime in Troy, I know that Rochester has a wayyy better cafe, which sometimes I’ll drive the 15 minutes just so I can go to the cafe after hahah. Is that bad? (definitely not)
I have only been to the Rochester Life Cafe a time or two, and have only ordered a smoothie. I’ll have to scan the menu next time! 🙂
I hope that your week finishes up on a good note. I have had a similar week in which everything just seems to be harder and I seem to be a bit frazzled! My grandma always used to remind me to simply ‘do the next thing’ when times get tough, and I am definitely taking that advice to heart right now! 🙂
That salad looks yummy! I having fun looking at What I Ate posts any day of the week. 🙂
Yummm that mocha drink sounds delicious! Fitness Pilates seems like a great class- I’m intrigued! I don’t think they have any classes like that near me.
You must go to Lifetime Fitness! That’s the gym I go to in Minneapolis (where it is also FREEEEEEEEEEEZING!!) I’d love a review of some of the classes of theirs that you take and like! I’m always interested in trying new ones out if they’re available at my club 🙂
That coffee sounds amazing! I need a coffee shop like yours near me 🙂
I really wish there was a good place to get protein smoothies in my area. I think the only option is Smoothie King, and there is basically nothing good 😛 Amy’s is my favorite soup and frozen food brand too! It’s all so good and I dont feel guilty eating it.
That chocolate chip cliff bar… looks so yummy! 😀
