Good morning and Happy Friday!
I hope you’ve all have a had a wonderful week. I am gearing up for the weekend, and ready for it to really start after I’m done with my last appointment at the gym Saturday afternoon. We have a dinner and movie date planned for tonight, so I’ll just pretend we are starting early anyways.
But enough about my pre-weekend recap… it’s time for this week’s edition of Friday Favorites!
As always, I invite you to play along and chime in with your faves on the comments and link-up sections below!
Friday Favorites #93: Week of 6/12
• Dunkin’ Donuts coffee
It’s no secret that I love my Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. While I am a fan of Starbucks drinks, I will always turn to Dunkin’ for a regular original or flavored coffee. I often buy the French Vanilla and Hazelnut bags while grocery shopping, and if I’m ever in a retail store, I make sure to stock up on my coffee there!
Scott and I happily celebrated National Donut Day last Friday with a stop into a Dunkin’ Donuts. I left with a pound of each of the flavors you see above, and they will forever remain my faves!
• microwave lid
Do any of you use a cover plate in your microwave?
I picked this under $2 microwave lid up from IKEA about four years ago. I put it over my plate or bowl any time I microwave something, and it has saved me from having to clean the entire inside of the microwave filled with splatters plenty of times.
Do yourself a favor and say goodbye to paper towels leaking into your food, and hello to a microwave lid. You can find them at most home goods stores on the cheap or even online here, here, and here (<- love the pig nose!).
• TRX (suspension training)
I have been loving the TRX lately.
I’m completely spoiled having access to two at the gym, and it’s hard for me not to put it in a workout these days.
For those of you new to these yellow and black straps, the TRX Suspension Trainer is a simple, yet extremely effective workout system that leverages gravity and your bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. You’re in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise, all by adjusting your body position to add or decrease resistance.
You can do anything from full body squat rows to biceps curls and triceps extensions. It’s a great tool to have in a gym, and in a perfect world I would own one at home, too.
• this commercial
I saw this Mountain Dew Kickstart commercial a few times this week, and I literally laughed out loud each time I saw it. I even had to go back and rewind it a few times just to see the dog shake his rump-shaker. Please watch it and tell me you didn’t just smile from ear to ear!
Anddd then the extended version of just the dog. Hilarious.
• fuzzy & tall socks
I realize this probably sounds lame, but I have a serious love for fuzzy and tall socks. I’ll have one or the other on every night when I get home, and often go to bed with them on, even though I’ll subconsciously kick them off before I wake up the next morning.
They’re instantly on my feet the second I get out of the shower and/or put sweats on. Bonus points if they have little grips on the bottom, too!
Also lame but very true this week, I can’t seem to get enough berries.
Scott brought several cartons of a combination of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries home last night and said he got some for as little as $1! Heck yes!
• Favorite LIL posts
• Friday funnies
Kicking things off with an ode to Disney princesses and Mean Girls.
Anddd finishing with a few valid points…
Have a great weekend!
