Good morning from Orlando, Florida! I hope you are all winding down from a great week.
I am looking forward to spending the morning with family, so I’m going to keep the introduction chatter to a minimum today and get out to the kitchen to catch up with my parents and grandmother over a cup of coffee.
It’s Friday, which means we’re talking favorites! Below you will find what made me smile this week, and I hope you’ll join in on the fun in the comments section, too. What have you been loving lately?
Thank you to everyone who clicks over to link up for Friday Favorites every single week!
Friday Favorites #140: Week of 5/6
• Fresh Market flowers
One thing I sure do miss from home is access to The Fresh Market! I used to frequent it quite a bit while living in Orlando. The atmosphere is so upbeat and pleasant. Plus, you can always find a fresh bouquet of roses for a steal.
The lowest I’ve seen a dozen roses priced at is $6.99 a dozen, and the highest I’ve seen is $19.99. You really can’t beat the quality for the price! Someday we will meet again on a more permanent basis, Fresh Market. Some day.
• DogVacay
There was a lot of stress going on when we first moved to New York. The biggest to-do was finding an apartment, so once we locked that down our focus went towards trying to find what to do with our animals when we travel. Scott and I are both away from home for 12 days!
Luckily, I stumbled upon a site called DogVacay after searching for boarding in the Brooklyn area. We didn’t want to actually board Roadie since our trip was over a week long, so I was very excited to find pet sitters that we can trust in the area. Simply type in what area you are located, and you can see pages of sitters pop up who offer a variety of services. Each person (or people – there are a lot of duos!) sets their own fee, and everything having to do with the payment goes right through the website.
As you can imagine, I was a little hesitant about how it would all work. After sending a few inquiry requests out, I found a lovely couple who seemed perfect for the job. We had a casual “Meet and Greet” with them the week before we left where we walked Roadie to their apartment, they walked him, and then we all went upstairs to see how he reacted to their dog and the environment.
Roadie is currently staying in an apartment blocks from Prospect Park, and he is enjoying roaming freely during the day with his new doggie friend, May May. I love that the site offers reviews and documented repeat visits from customers, and the best part about it all is getting daily photos and messages with what they’re up to.
We are very happy with our decision to board him through DogVacay, and we will definitely be using it again down the road.

• My House Fitness
If you’ve been reading the blog for years, then you might remember me mentioning My House Fitness before. It’s an upscale personal training studio that has franchise locations in Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Nevada, and Texas.
It’s been my sister’s home gym in Orlando for years now, and I know that she will take me to her boot camp classes any time that I come to visit.
I was only able to spend a night and a morning with her, but we managed to squeeze in two training sessions at MHF. The first one was a group boot camp class that featured a Lightsaber Workout in honor of May the Fourth (Star Wars Day — #maythefourthbewithyou).
Everyone was asked to wear ankle weights throughout the entire class (ouch!), and we turned the lights out at the end to have some fun with lightsabers. All of the exercises had Star Wars themed names like “Sith ups” and “Jedi Squats” that had us striking and waving the lightsabers all over the place. It was a blast!
The next morning came early with a 6 a.m. boot camp. Our group was split into two teams and each one completed two rounds of exercises, two circuits each. It wasn’t easy!
I may put up a cool front, but I was quietly huffing and puffing pretty quickly. I loved the variety in exercises and that there was the addition of cardio and core in almost every move. That’s plyometrics for you …
Thanks for the great workouts, My House Fitness!
• family time (even if it’s just a little)
It’s been a looong few days, but it’s been worth driving across town to spend a few hours with my family here and there since I landed yesterday. Since I won’t be missing any important meetings at Disney today, I decided to take the morning and early afternoon off to spend some much overdue quality time at home and then with my mom.
We are planning on going for a run this morning, followed by lunch in Winter Park (we both love that area!), and, if time permits, a pedicure to celebrate both of our birthdays.
I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to swing a family get together tonight due to an early morning rehearsal across town tomorrow, so I’m cherishing every minute that I have with them. <3
• baby photos
Speaking of cherishing family, I found this gem when I was talking with my mom last night.
It came from her baby shower album from when she was pregnant with me!
I just love coming across old photos like this. It’s amazes me that I can still remember details from my nursery, too. Some of those decorations are still so fresh in my mind! Crazy.
• Invictus Games
And last, but certainly not least, I am so excited and honored to be on staff at the 2016 Invictus Games in Orlando!
Scott and I arrived this week and have been busy bees attending meetings, running around, and getting ready for the events to begin on Sunday. We’re running the entertainment teams and the fun is just beginning!
I’ve mentioned the Invictus Games on the blog before, and this isn’t the last you will hear about them, either. I will be back with a full recap of the experience, but until then, expect to see snapshots here and there. You can always follow what we’re up to on Snapchat (username: lifenleggings), Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
I will say, however, that one of my favorite things so far was meeting an incredibly spirited Disney Cast Member named Eddie. He worked the dining area all day yesterday, and is incredibly sweet and and hilarious.
He kept calling us “super princesses” and had the best stories. Our little group talked to him for a good half hour after we finished our meals!
If you’re in the Orlando area and want to witness the dedication, drive, and passion wounded warriors possess, check out this event going on at Disney’s Wide World of Sports May 8 – 12th! #InvictusGames2016 #IAM

Not sure if you knew but there are Fresh Market stores in CT…just a short ride on the Metro North Train from NYC if you are craving some items. I discovered them last year in Texas and was really impressed. I moved to Boston earlier this year and discovered they have a store up here. Have a great trip in Orlando!

DogVacay is such a great idea. It’s SO important to leave your dog with a person you trust 100 %. I wish we had something like that in Denmark!
& those flowers look so beautiful!
