Good morning and a very Happy Friday to you!
I, for one, am thrilled that the weekend is almost here. I am in dire need of a couple of slow days, and I have nothing more than hanging at home with Scott (and possibly with friends) on the radar this weekend. That honestly sounds glorious to me.
In true Friday fashion, it’s time to cover another week of Friday Favorites. Can you believe we’ve already hit Week 99? Holy moly. Time sure does fly!
I always invite you to join in on the fun by sharing your favorites for the week in the comments section. If you are a blogger, make sure to look for the blue Inlinkz button at the bottom and link up your own #FFavorites posts, too.
(And… psst… stay tuned for something special to celebrate the 100 mark next week!)
Friday Favorites #99: Week of 7/24
• anniversary day date
As most of you know, Scott and I celebrated our four year wedding anniversary this week! I was grateful to have a free enough schedule to spend the majority of the day with him, so we took advantage of it and started our little day date with a trip to Panera Bread for lunch.
We both ordered You Pick Two meals, and for the first time in a long time, I picked something comforting… a cup of Broccoli Cheddar Soup with a wheat roll and a half a Chicken Cobb Salad. Gosh, that soup is dreamy.
I couldn’t even tell you what Scott ordered, but it looks pretty delicious, too. If I had to guess, I would say he got half a Thai Chicken Salad with half a Chipotle Chicken Panini and chips.
We enjoyed our food, but we didn’t take too much time to doddle since we had a matinee showing of Inside Out to get to!
(This could be an entire separate favorite because… recliner seats.)
Inside Out was adorable. The storyline was different from most cartoon fairytale love stories, and I thought the characters were great. I also hate to admit that I became a bit emotional watching it. Scott caught me tearing up a few different times, which isn’t too out of the ordinary these days. Anyways, I think it is a great picture that your whole family would enjoy.
(I’ll admit it… we are suckers for Disney and Pixar films. You got us.)
As I shared yesterday, I worked at the gym for a couple of hours after that, then got ready for a nice dinner out as soon as I returned home. We had a fantastic dining experience at Café Cortina in Farmington Hills.
I went to bed with the biggest smile on my face that night. Happy Anniversary, love!
• apple chips
I picked up a bag of SenecaSnacks crispy apple chips while gathering snacks for the conference I attended in Los Angeles last week. I found this bag within walking distance of the Convention Center at Ralphs, but you can also find them (along with all of the other flavors) .
I opened my bag of granny smith apple chips during a session on Nutrition & Cooking Substitutions (<- tips coming soon!), and had to literally stop myself from eating the entire bag in one sitting. They were so good!
• Starbucks matcha green tea
I have to give credit to Ashley for introducing me to a new love I enjoyed more than twice last week: Starbucks Matcha Green Tea Lattes!
To say we had a series of consecutive busy, active days at IDEA would be an understatement. Each day was long and action packed, so our friendly neighborhood Starbucks next to our hotel quickly turned into a twice-a-day stop. You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
I always started with a coffee in the morning, but I switched over to tea in the afternoons after she raved about the new Matcha Green Tea option.
If we needed a more caffeine than just green tea can provide, we added a shot of espresso. Either way, we both enjoyed ours with either nonfat or soy milk, and it was incredibly tasty!
• Quelf board game
After getting home from my trip, I saw something on our coffee table that instantly made me smile. Scott mentioned that he invited people over for a game night while I was away, so I’m wondering how long it will take for our friend to realize they left this gem behind.
Have any of you ever played ?
It takes anywhere from 3-8 players a game, and is not for those that get embarrassed easily. Players use their creativity to answer crazy questions and perform ridiculous stunts. Throughout the game, you pick up different colored cards that instruct you to complete a variety of tasks. Some include answering questions while others involve acting things out without the other players having a clue what you are doing.
It’s hilarious, and I always laugh uncontrollably hard every time!
• LIL business cards
After a total rebrand and redesign earlier this year, I am happy to say that I finally feel official blogging at Life In Leggings, thanks to my snazzy new business cards.
I designed them myself using Moo.com, and it was pretty easy to find a style I liked to input the information I wanted using one of their templates. I decided to include a picture of myself on the front, then displayed all of the major social channels you can find me as well as the website address, my email, and phone number.
It sure beats trying to explain what I do and scribbling down lifeinleggings.com onto whatever paper or napkin I can find when people ask!
I ordered a set of 200 cards for just around $70. I thought that was a pretty fair price for the quality of cards I received that also came with a case to keep them in.
I carried that small black case with me throughout the conference, and I appreciated the “Mine” and “Theirs” divider tabs. If you are in need of ordering business cards for your business or blog, check out Moo!
You can receive 10% off of your first order by using my referral link to design your cards. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out and ask in the comments section or by emailing me at heather@lifeinleggings.com. The process was very easy and user-friendly.
(Just to be clear, I will receive a small kickback of credit any time my referral link is used. Thank you for the support!)
• Skinny Cow salted caramel pretzel bars
Please tell me I’m not the only one who has tried these and fallen in love…
I am a lover of most Skinny Cow products, but these Salted Caramel Pretzel ice cream bars are by far the best dessert I’ve tried from their line in quite a while. This isn’t a sponsored plug in any way, shape, or form. I just genuinely love their products.
At 160 calories a bar, they’ve been a great treat to look forward to at the end of my days!
Trust me. You want to try them.

• Friday funnies
Shouting out to Ashley (again) for introducing me to a hilarious, yet super inappropriate new account to follow on Instagram.
It’s great stuff… if you have an open mind and don’t get easily offended.
You’ve been warned! 😉

Have a fabulous weekend!

Definitely not one to get easily offended! Congrats on the Popsugar feature, btw. I can’t believe that next week will be #100! I remember when you started it for “real.” I hope that you and Scott have a fantastic weekend, and thanks for another endorsement for Inside Out-guess I better go and see it 😀
Heather
Haha, I would say you’re definitely good there. 😉 Thank you! I knowww… haha, I think I started the link up back in week #8. I can’t believe that was YEARS ago. Crazy!
Emily @ My Healthyish Life
Your business cards are so pretty! I love both pictures of you. Wasn’t Inside Out so cute? Pixar makes the best movies. Have a great weekend.
Heather
Thanks Emily! I felt somewhat like a goober putting two pictures, but I feel like the back actually explains my blog title. Happy weekend! 🙂
Heather@hungryforbalance
Love the business cards! And yes to the dog/pizza one!!
Heather
Thank you! Haha, that one really got me. I can totally relate! 😉
Morgan @ Morgan Manages Mommyhood
Panera was my first job and my love runs deep. I love their turkey avocado BLT and tomato mozzarella flatbread for sandwiches, but they just got a new Mediterranean Chicken Quinoa salad that I am OBSESSED with.
Heather
I’ve actually never tried any of their flatbreads. I couldn’t tell you why! Yes, that quinoa salad is amazing… and so are the broth bowls!
ahealthyhappyhome
I agree on that dire need for a few slow days. After 4 days in a row of teaching 5:45 am classes as well as busy days I’m exhausted! Not to mention still recovering from BlogFest/Idea World. A restful weekend will be perfect! Although, restful doesn’t really happen with a kid 😉 I LOVE your business cards and the holder! I have a few left of the ones I’m currently using but will definitely be checking out that site next time I need to order more! Have a great weekend Heather!
Heather
YES! Oh my goodness, I couldn’t imagine all of those early mornings after the week we had, lol. So many props to you! I think you will love the business cards if you decide to order. Enjoy your much needed weekend! xo
Renee
Super cute business cards! I need something new, I’m thinking a full rebrand. while Bendiful means something to my husband and I it sounds like a dog food to everyone else LOL! I too am wiped out after idea/blogfest my first workout in DAYS was yesterday. Rest days are always good.
Heather
Thank you Renee. Haha, too funny… I get what you are saying about the name, but I would have never thought about that. If you need any advice or suggestions for rebranding, I couldn’t have been happier with the company I hired. http://murnancreative.com. You could email Jeff directly if you’re interested in checking him out: jeff@murnancreative.com. He’s very timely and affordable!
Ellen
Your business cards look great! That holder is really useful, too. And I think I’ve only played Quelf twice, but I know that once I ended up balancing on a banister to complete a task… I don’t think we stopped laughing the entire game – how fun! Enjoy your relaxing weekend!
Heather
Thank you Ellen! YES, I’m so glad SOMEONE understands my excitement over this game, haha. I’m excited to play it again!
Kelly Runs for Food
Love the business cards! Also, good choice at Panera. I haven’t had Panera in about two weeks, which is basically a world record for me. Having one across the street from work is dangerous!
Heather
Thanks Kelly! Haha, I’m sure I would have the same problem if I was even a little bit closer to one!
Smitha @ Running with SD Mom
Happy Anniversary! I love day dates. Wish we could do them more often! Dumb work. Haha. And thank you for hosting this link up! My first time here! I host a giveaway linkup on Wednesdays I would love for you to join!
Heather
Thanks Smitha, I do too! I’m so glad you clicked over. Thanks for letting me know about the Wednesday link up 🙂
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
There are far too many things to comment on in this post. You looked adorable with your hair in the half-up in the anniversary picture. Also, I’m so glad I introduced you to a funny Instagram account and the Matcha beverage, you should try enjoying both of those at the same time one day heheh! And congrats on the features of your post — aways a good thing. What else? Oh yes, Panera and a movie is such a nice afternoon that I need to recreate one of these days. We NEVER go to the movies. That’ll do it for now. Enjoy your weekend!
Heather
Haha, it’s only a matter of time! 😉 Thank you for the congratulations. Yes, you and Dave should go on a movie date this weekend! Enjoy! xo
briwifruit
Happy anniversary! And congrats on the features! I also use Moo for business cards, so easy and fun to make! I was thinking I need to do one for my blog… I have one for my personal training business but I should have one on hand for blogging/freelance writing related stuff!
Heather
Woo hoo! Now that I have blog business cards, I couldn’t imagine not replacing them when they run out. I carry a small handful everywhere I go! 😉
Beth @ Running with the Sunrise
So glad you and Scott had a fun anniversary! I think I cry at just about every Pixar movie, so no judgement there. (How can two robots make you cry?! I don’t understand. ;)) I’m looking forward to some downtime this weekend, too. Can’t wait to chill out a bit! And I love that meme with the guy in camo and the reflective jacket–I definitely LOLed at that one. Hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
Heather
Haha, I’m right there with you… so don’t worry. 😉 Enjoy your much needed and well deserved weekend break!
Jen Rawson, RD (@PrettyLilGrub)
That matcha green tea latte looks good. I would never think of adding espresso to it.
Heather
The barista suggested it after we mentioned we needed caffeine. lol. It’s a great addition!
Kaitlyn
Starbucks Matcha Latte’s are the absolute best! You can get it unsweetened (and with soy) and it still tastes absolutely delicious. I think the soy milk adds a certain sweetness. SO good!
Have a great weekend 🙂
cait // piece of cait
Love your new cards !!! So cute !! I gotta try that Starbucks drink.. Love lattes 🙂
Gretchen | Gretchruns
Inside Out was great! I was in New York last month, and there was a horrible storm so we headed to a movie theatre rather than walking around the city like we planned. It wasn’t ideal but I loved the movie and it was better than being freezing and miserable for hours! I also loved the lava short they showed before the movie. Hope you have a great weekend!
Heather Dawn (@mylittlehea)
Love your business cards!! Panera sounds like a good idea since it’s rainy all day today and that always makes me want soup! I haven’t played Quelf in years, but it definitely produced some good times among our group of friends!
Heather
Panera soups are SO good! I agree that a trip to the cafe sounds perfect on a rainy day. Enjoy the weekend!
renaissancerunnergirl
I absolutely loved Inside Out. Those business cards are awesome!
ALD_FIT
I love your business cards! And I’m already drooling over those Skinny Cow bars… have a wonderful weekend!
Strength and Sunshine
That game looks so fun! Haha!
Love the business cards! They look great!
I was so excited to get mine…I felt so official ;P
Heather
Woo hoo! #itsthelittlethings 😉 Happy Weekend!
Liz Joiner
Happy anniversary! Read your other post and it looked like a wonderful day! That movie theater looks like the bees knees. And I need to get the game Quelf, I’m all for doing embarrassing things (that’s like my life story, never without doing something embarrassing). Love your business cards too!
liz @ sundays with sophie
Heather
Thank you Liz! I think you would enjoy the board game. Happy Weekend!
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul
Mmm I love Panera! Josh picked up some yesterday for dinner after an especially bad day.
Julia
Love the new business cards!
planksandplanes
I never knew Starbucks had a green tea latte! That will definitely be a stop this weekend to try. Have a great weekend!
Heather
I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. You may have to sweeten it if you usually add sugar to your teas, but it’s very good!
breathedeeplyandsmile
I love those Skinny Cow bars, but they disappear way too fast in my household 🙂
Heather
Haha, same!!
Jen@jpabstfitness
Happy Anniversary!! My husband and I will celebrate 14 years in a few weeks, crazy how fast it’s gone!
Heather
Wow, that’s amazing… Happy 14 Years!
Jen@jpabstfitness
Thanks 🙂
kuliejulie
Inside Out was such a great movie (though I love anything with Amy Poehler). Happy weekend!
Heather
Me too! (And I didn’t even realize it was her until the credits rolled. Whoops!) 😉
