I’m in a peppy mood this morning, which is great for having to be at work before 7 a.m. After a full day at the gym, Scott and I will be kicking off our weekend with a New Kids On the Block concert! Yep, I said NKOTB. They’re throwing it back for a nationwide tour with Nelly and TLC, so we obviously need to go. Where my 80s babies at?
Saturday will be just as eventful with a 5K and trip over to Detroit for the Grand Prix races. We’ve got plenty to keep us busy, that’s for sure!
Getting right to why you clicked over, let’s move on to this week’s edition of Friday Favorites. As always, I invite you to share some things you have been loving at the bottom by utilizing the comments section and link up tool!
Friday Favorites #91: Week of 5/29
After seeing the online jewelry service pop up across the Internet over the past few months, I was thrilled to finally receive my first Rocksbox this week!
If you are someone who likes to “go shopping” by borrowing jewelry from your roommate, friend, or family member, this service would be right up your alley.
You can become a Shine Insider and have unlimited access to rent from an ever-rotating closet of designer jewelry for $19 a month!
How it works:
1. Take the style survey and add items to your jewelry Wish List.
2. Receive three pieces of jewelry on loan. Each piece is hand-selected for you based on your style and specific requests, and you can wear them as much as you want!
3. Return your Rocksbox pieces anytime and as often as you like. Every set has 3 pieces of designer jewelry, worth an average of $200 per set.
With summer weddings in mind, I went a little brighter and fancier than I normally would.
I selected more “night on the town” and special occasion statement jewelry, versus softer, smaller pieces.
I was very happy with the pieces I received. After filling out my style profile, I typed out a detailed request for pieces to wear with specific dresses to upcoming weddings and showers.
All of my dresses are in the blue and green family, and one has a pop of coral. I made sure to make a note of this information and included a request of a gold base this round. My stylist nailed it!
Perry Street Jane Necklace // Trina Turk Hexagon Stone Flex Bracelet // Maragret Elizabeth Two Stone Drops Earrings
You can choose to send everything back, or buy any piece from your Rocksbox Set. Each month alots $10 in Shine Spend to apply towards a purchase!
What I like most about this service is that I can send back the pieces when I’m done borrowing them. I love having a variety of quality jewelry available, but I don’t always like to invest in designer items. Shipping is always free and pre-paid both ways. I will be keeping these pieces throughout the month of June to get me through my weddings and showers, then will most likely send them back to see what I get next.
Great news! If you’re interested in trying this service out for yourself, you can get 1 month of Rockbox jewelry FREE using the code lifenleggingsxoxo upon checkout!
I’m not a huge fan of soda. In fact, I only really drink it in the form of a slurpee, mixed in with vanilla vodka, or in a root beer float.
Every now and then, however, I get an upset stomach or craving for the carbonation. I recently decided to give Zevia a try, and picked up a six-pack of the Black Cherry cans on my last trip into Whole Foods.
Compared to traditional diet soda, the health benefits of drinking this zero-calorie drink are clear. Literally.
Zevia is Non-GMO, vegan, and gluten free verified, and contains zero artificial sweeteners, preservatives, flavors, colors, or phosphoric acid. It’s free of synthetic caffeine, and is very low in sodium. I’ve been enjoying the naturally sweet bubbly drink all week, and am looking forward to trying more flavors soon!
• lululemon skinny headband
Anyone who has met me a time or two probably knows that I have a thing for headbands. Bonus points if they have elastic or velvet on the inside to prevent slippage!
I received this lululemon skinny fly away tamer headband as a birthday gift and wear it at least once a week. Isn’t it adorable?
Would you be surprised to find out that the only pieces I own from lululemon are headbands and barre socks? It’s true. While I could easily spend my entire paychecks on their fitness apparel, I just haven’t splurged. One of these days I’ll hit up an outlet and be in some serious trouble.
• seasoned Triscuits
While I don’t eat whole grains all too often (here’s why!), I do love me some Triscuit crackers from time to time. Pair them with a tub of hummus, and I’m usually half a box deep within an episode of Friends.
I enjoy the original and reduced fat versions, but I like to try the boxes of seasoned crackers on occasion, too. Scott brought this Dill, Sea Salt & Olive Oil flavor home this week, and I cannot stop eating them. So good!
• remote control stand fan
Some of you might remember me mentioning that our air conditioning went out a week or so ago. Lucky for us, it was in the middle of a cool spell, but we still wanted some ventilation in our bedroom at night until it got fixed.
Enter this glorious 16″ DC Stand Fan via Walmart.
It’s super fancy with 38 speeds (what?!) and comes with a remote control.
It’s relatively quiet for the amount of air it moves around, too. I especially love the natural setting that is made to feel like an off and on breeze you would experience while sitting outdoors. It’s totally worth the investment!
• Vince Camuto cologne
There’s a new type of spray I’ve been digging lately, and it isn’t for women.
Scott picked up this bottle of Vince Camuto cologne from the outlet mall a couple weeks ago, and I love walking into the bathroom after he sprays it. Is that weird? Probably.
Ladies, if you’re looking for a new woodsy scent to gift a special man in your life, I highly recommend this one. You can find it at high-end department stores, Perfumania, or online here, here, and here.

• Friday funnies
… because what better way to celebrate Friday than with weekend-themed animal memes?
The seal killed me.
Ha! I want all of them!
Have a great weekend!
