Looking at my calendar this morning and realizing Scott and I have been married for two years absolutely blows my mind.
How does time fly by so fast?
It seems like just yesterday I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and become Mrs. Hesington.

It was a blast for sure!
Last year, we celebrated our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary with traditional paper gifts (<- check out my DIY Wedding Anniversary Gift!). We spent the entire day together revisiting our chapel, taking Roadie with us on a picnic, and going out for a nice dinner.
This year, my groom has temporarily left me for a work conference in Portland. It might be a good thing though, considering we have Day 2 of Pistons Dancers Auditions tonight. Although we already went to a concert to celebrate, I am excited to get to go on a dinner date with Scott when he gets home.
Some Favorite Married Moments This Year
Scott and I have already been through a lot as newlyweds. A job loss, a year of uncertainty, a move, a job gain, and many many adjustments and roller coaster rides in between. Over the past two years, he has been nothing short of a partner, a companion, and a best friend to me.
We’re not perfect, but I am so, so glad and grateful to call him my husband. Here are some of my favorite moments we’ve experienced together this year!
Announcing we’re moving to the Detroit, MI area.
Saying goodbye to Florida family and friends, and actually moving.
Getting used to living up north and seeing fall for the first time (for me!).
Living in snow!
Having our first white Christmas. Also, making our first driving trip to Chicago!
Working together again in the NBA.
Celebrating holidays together.
Traveling!
Making our first trip home to Florida…
Then Boston…
Then Ohio.
Running a few wet ‘n wild races.
And last but not least, attending a variety of events and concerts!
If there is one thing I can say about our marriage, it is that it is never a boring one. I always knew Scott was the adventurous type, but becoming his wife has really shown me how much he lives for the moment and to grow in our lives together every single day.
Thank you for showing me how to live a little and keep me on my toes, bubba! Here’s to another year of fun and many more to come…

Skyler did great walking into KINDERGARTEN with a big smile on his face this morning. I, however, was a bit of a mess on our walk home. 🥹
It’s wild how fast these 5 years with him have gone … 7 since we moved to NYC and into our apartment, dreaming of the day our kids would someday go to the *awesome* school right down our block. 🏫
That day is today, and I still don’t believe it — feeling allll of the emotions and thanking God for placing us here and for being able to trust His timing through the journey. 🫶🏼 #hbshinnyc
