You’ve heard the news, you’ve read about what is coming next, and now we are on the road to saying goodbye to friends and family.
I know I have about five more weeks in Florida, but Scott has already left and started work in Detroit. It all happened so quickly!
Excuse me for a second while I let the reality of this actually happening set in… (1 Mississippi… 2 Mississippi… 3… okay, I’m back.)
Like I mentioned last week, I am trying to keep up with the whirlwind of everything going on. Unfortunately I am not able to blog every week day (as usual) because I need to concentrate on my writing jobs, barre classes and packing.
Oh, packing – how I loathe you. I don’t enjoy the process packing one bit for any kind of trip, and the thought of having to pack up this entire house is just dreadful.
Let’s delay the process a bit more by highlighting the rest of last weekend shall we?
“We’re Moving”
Before we put it out to the world online and made it “Facebook official,” (you know that is how truth is solidified.) (Kidding.) (Kind of.) we hosted a dinner and game night at our place to share the news with some of our closest friends.
But before we get to that, we had a busy little Saturday. After getting in super late from the Tampa Bay Rays Game, Scott and I were up bright and early for Round 2 of our garage sale.
Between the two days, we made a smashing $500! It must have been Scott’s tough bargaining skills that spiked up our numbers, because I was a complete sucker on most things and ended up giving a lot of our stuff away. Whoops!
Just like the previous weekend, I had to leave the garage sale early to head out to my last Drink Chia Demo.
It will definitely be an adjustment being so far away from them. As a Mover and Shaker Friend of the brand, I have been spoiled to be just a thirty minute drive from their head office in Altamonte Springs.
When I was finished, and to show my appreciation to my hard working friends still at the garage sale, I brought over a few Mango Tangerines to put a little pep in their step.
After loading up and heading back home, there wasn’t a minute to spare before stopping by the grocery store and getting to work on dinner. There were friends coming over and our lasagna wasn’t going to make itself.
Scott was proud of how our Chicken Lasagna turned out, along with his borderline inappropriate strategically placed (and cropped) apron.
It was so nice to sit down with our friends and enjoy a home cooked meal.
Right after this photo was taken, we broke the news that we will be moving in just five short weeks. Bummer.
From Crazy News to a Crazy Game
So… have you ever played Scrabble Catch Phrase?
It is a timed game that challenges you to guess words and phrases in five different categories. There are two teams, and let me just say…
It gets I-N-T-E-N-S-E!
I highly recommend a friendly (or sometimes not so friendly) game of Catch Phrase at any family, friends or game night gathering. After much debate, Team Two – *ahem, all girls – were declared the winners.
Boo-yah!
We spent the rest of the night challenging each other and were able to catch the tail end of the fireworks show just across the lake at Universal Studios.
Man, I am going to miss that view. And our friends.
More going away stories to come…
Have a Great Labor Day! 🙂

Awe, we just started to hang and now I’m gonna have to miss you!
I know! So sad. Looks like I will be seeing you on the CRUISE though! (Unless the Pistons sneak into the playoffs…) 😉
I’m sure it’s a bit scary to move away from the place you have lived your whole life but I cannot wait to see the amazing adventure you two will get into up North! I’m so excited for you!
Thanks Erica! I am more excited than scared now… it’s really starting to sink in! 🙂
Just found this post! That chai drink was delightful and it seriously feels like yesterday I was trying to get all your stuff out of my garage! Haha. Love you guys and see you soon!
