Good Morning! I bet some of you were expecting a WIAW post today. Judging from the title, you can probably guess that I plan on returning to my regular WIAW schedule next week. Sorry, friends!
Instead, I am here to share a quick review and a few easy smoothie recipes with you. Let’s get right to it!
By now, you might be used to me highlighting and reviewing products on the blog. It feels like I have continuously applied and agreed to cover campaigns this summer. My point in doing so is to not only rack in on some great product (not going to lie… it is a great perk), but also to be able to try the latest and greatest and report my experience back to you guys.
Every now and then, my reviews include a giveaway and today I am very excited about what the kind folks over at Designer Whey have to offer.
About a week ago, I received a box full of energy and good reading material (including recipes and ideas on how to use Designer Whey) to go along with it!
Since I have tried Designer Whey protein powders before, I expected nothing less than goodness from their new line of Sustained Energy Protein Powders. After taking note of the Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Velvet flavors, I kept my expectations high.
Designer Whey Sustained Energy
(Protein powder with a little extra somethin’ somethin’.)
Here is the best description of the line, pulled straight from their website:
1 scoop of either flavor = low sugar, low carbs + high protein + high fiber for only 100 calories. Not to shabby, but did it curb my hunger and keep me energized?
Eager to get things started, I made this smoothie bowl using the Vanilla Bean flavor the very next day. It was extremely delicious and kept me moving after my workout for at least a few hours. Win!
The next day, I opened the Chocolate Velvet and became instantly infatuated. The stuff tastes incredible, and is probably one of the best chocolate flavored protein powders I have ever tried. Seriously. Below are two forms of proof.
Double Chocolate Light Peanut Butter Smoothie
It takes talent to go wrong with anything that includes chocolate and peanut butter. With the 100 calorie powder on my mind, I got the inspiration to “go light” and create something chocolate-peanut buttery using PB2 powder.
The recipe couldn’t be easier, and I topped it off with a sprinkle of chia and flax seeds.
The next day, I actually got a craving for another Chocolate Velvet creation. Behold delicious and perfectly satisfying smoothie #2…
Banana Split Protein Smoothie
(Again, lightened up for you to enjoy in-between meals!)
No splitting necessary.
I decided to use the chocolate to give it the full combination of flavors you would find in a banana split: Neapolitan ice cream, a banana + whip cream!
Later than afternoon, I wanted to bake something and truly test what this protein powder can do. As much as I wanted to use the Chocolate Velvet, I turned back over to the Vanilla Bean flavor to create a batch of energy protein balls.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Protein Balls
In case you missed it, I posted the full recipe yesterday!
A lot of you expressed interest in them, and I have to agree with you.
These little stinkers are still calling to me from the kitchen.
(What’s left of ’em!)
I think it is pretty clear to see that my experience with the Designer Whey Sustained Energy Protein Powders was a wonderful one. Any time they want to send over sample products, I will gladly take them in or find them a home.
After reading the nutrition information on the back of the canister (also found on their website), I am genuinely impressed by the fat/protein and carbs/fiber ratios. I like that each scoop is an even 100 calories, and that this formula barely includes sugar. Great job, team DW!
Speaking of giving their product homes, who is ready for the giveaway?
… Me too!

Just like any part of life or games there are rules to follow.
It might happen that amount of losses would be as much as amount of
winnings, so in these cases you do not need to pay any casino winning tax.
It says that whatever income these Canadian citizens win from their gambling they should withheld thirty percent
of it to the US tax.
