Happy First of July! (I’m sorry, what?) Does anyone else think this year is absolutely flying by?
Whether we believe it or not, today is Friday which means we are almost to the weekend! Are there any special holiday weekend plans on deck for you?
Scott and I don’t have much set up, but I’d bet that we’ll end up spotting fireworks. A day on the lake sounds absolutely dreamy, too. I don’t really see that happening this weekend, but hopefully sometime soon. (Reason 6,247 why I loved living in Orlando.)
Until then, I’ll be enjoying adventures in the City and am kicking things off with a new edition of Friday Favorites. Every week, I share what I’ve been loving, and I invite you to chime in at the bottom via the comments and link-up sections.
Have a great Friday, my friends!

… which is officially being discontinued. That’s right, it’s not just a rumor.
I popped into the store on my way to Target the other day, and I noticed a promotion of their semi-annual sale (<-the best). The swimwear selection wasn’t huge, so I went online to find pieces to match the printed top and bottom that I scooped up at the store for a steal.
// (Pebble Dot) // //
Literally, as I was checking out, one of the black tops disappeared from my shopping cart. I called customer service to ask what happened and they explained that the swimwear line is going to be discontinued and guessed that somebody bought the last top I picked out in my size right then. What are the odds?
I ended up finding other options, but I still can’t get over the confirmed news. I used to stock up on their swimwear every couple of years! Getting all of these pieces for a great deal, and the fact that I can mix and match with the black pieces is a favorite, of course. VS Swimwear almost being a thing of the past? Not so much!
• this easy, nutritious breakfast
I’ve always been a fan of yogurt and granola brands, but I’ve been taking them to an entire new level lately. (Shout out to my mom who got me hooked on doing this!)
1 cup Greek yogurt, a generous pour of Peace Cereal, a sprinkle of chia seeds, and a drizzle of almond milk
I’m happy to report that Scott’s a fan, too! These bowls were made with the Vanilla Almond flavor, and another favorite of mine is the Maple Pecan. Even if I’m enjoying a bowl in the early morning hours, the substance of the yogurt and cereal holds me for quite a while. Win!
• The Bachelorette
Scott and I used to watch The Bachelor together when we first started dating. That’s probably weird, I know.
He’s a huge sucker for reality television, and he usually gets me addicted to something during each season of the year. This year, it’s The Bachelorette, but I have to thank my downstairs neighbor for it. We’ve been meeting at her place for dinner and wine on a weekly basis to catch all of the drama … and I have to admit that I’m really enjoying the show.
Hillary also sent me this BuzzFeed article about this season’s The Bachelorette contestants. You don’t even have to watch the show to understand … too funny!
• Seamless
If there’s one thing you will never be short on living in New York City, it’s food that can be delivered to your front door. Since I don’t currently have a demanding work schedule, I haven’t been ordering much delivery, but it’s good to know that the option is always there. Always.
This one is really showing my new New Yorker side, but have y’all ever used Seamless?
It’s similar to GrubHub, if you’ve ever heard of that. It’s basically the New Yorker’s go-to just about any time of the day. It’s not an exaggeration when I say that one task required of a job that I interviewed for a while back was to round up everyone’s Seamless orders for lunch and distribute them. Every day.
As you can imagine, I had pretty high expectations going into my first Seamless order. I’m happy to report that my order came right all the way up to our door fifteen minutes early. I ordered it directly from the app on my phone, and I can totally see how it can become addicting. So easy!
• rest
I’ve been fighting some kind of sickness this week. Actually, it finally got me yesterday. After taking two days off from working out, (I was unbearably sore from a workout on Monday and started feeling achy on Wednesday), I was planning to get back on track with a visit to a new studio yesterday.
After waking up at the crack of dawn for no apparent reason at all, I decided to listen to my body and just rest.
(Yes, I’m still loving these slippers Julie!)
I worked at home for a bit, but I spent a lot of the day cuddled up with the fur kids. I swear that they can tell when I’m not fully myself. They’re extra snuggly and follow me wherever I go! Sometimes a good rest day is just what the doctor ordered.

Torry @ The Gluten Free Wheat Life
I have always watched the Bachelor/Bachelorette but I just can’t get into it this season. I have the last two weeks on my DVR but I just can’t come around to watch them. I think I need to give myself a few seasons off and then I’ll get back into it!
Have a great holiday weekend – hope you start feeling better 🙂

I love that social media quote. AMEN all the way! Social media is a wonderful tool, but it doesn’t define our worth.
Meal delivery services are really fascinating to me. We’ve had pizza delivered before but never meals like Seamless. 🙂 I’ve heard of Hello Fresh too; have you heard of it? And I”m glad that you are resting and relaxing, because that’s exactly what the body needs when it starts to get run down. 🙂 Fur babies are the best companions for sick days. <3

Hi Emily! I’ve heard of Hello Fresh, but I’ve never tried it. Maybe sometime soon. Seamless is great! And GrubHub, for that matter. Have a great weekend!
Patricia @ Sweet and Strong
My husband and I love the Bachelorette too! Tell Scott he’s definitely not the only guy who enjoys all the drama 😉

I’m so sad that they’re discontinuing their swimwear! But I’m glad they’re still doing fitness apparel because they have some amazing sports bras!
Heather
Their sports bras are pretty great. The swimwear it still a mystery to me!
Nancy
I’ve never owned a VS swimsuit and now I want to go buy the whole lot of them up, because 1: they’re always so cute and 2: discontinuing. I don’t know why! They’re so popular, why cancel’em VS? Boo!
I love that shot of you on the brooklyn bridge!!!

I’ve been disappointed by the VS swimwear line being discontinued too! They have tops in bra sizes, instead of XS, S, M, etc. And you can mix and match bottoms for those of us with different top and bottom sizes. I did the same thing and stocked up while I could, but still disappointed.
I hope you’re feeling better! Love your cat’s blue eyes!
Meagan @ My Life as Mrs
This is the first season of The Bachelorette I’ve watched in a few years and while I love JoJo, I feel like she got stuck with an eh group of guys. There is no Ben there. While I wanted and knew he’d end up with Lauren, he could have been perfect with JoJo and there’s no guy this season who’s that kind of good for her. But we’ll see.

So sad about VS swimwear and activewear! I love both so much! And Dos Equis commercials (and memes) always make me smile. Have a lovely weekend, Heather! I hope you get to feeling better 🙂
