Good morning!
You guys. I planned to start this post yesterday and finish it early this morning to be able to share the link-up with you first thing. My body, however, didn’t think that was a great plan.
After spending time in the City yesterday, I came home to get ready and head back out to the Meatpacking District to meet some friends who are in town visiting from Detroit last night. I wasn’t feeling that great on the way out, but I figured it would pass. I had no idea that I would spend the rest of the night getting sick!
I didn’t eat anything out of the ordinary, but something obviously wasn’t sitting well with me. Needless to say, our train ride home couldn’t come fast enough, and I took the morning to let my body recover from whatever it was going through. Luckily, I’m feeling much better now.
Anyways! It’s Friday, and just like every week, I’m sharing this week’s edition of Friday Favorites. Today I only have a few, since I want to go ahead and publish this to get the link-up party going!
Thank you to each and every one of you who click over and play along week after week!
Friday Favorites #151: Week of 7/22
• Our Five Year Anniversary
My very favorite thing of all this week is celebrating Scott and I’s five year wedding anniversary. It’s today!
Scott is working later tonight, so we are spending the day together, and we will plan to do something special next week. One thing we do every year is watch our wedding video short, and I can’t help but to cry every time. It’s crazy to think how fast five years can fly by!
You can read all about our wedding day on the Wedding Page, and the Wedding Recaps tell all!
Scott and I have been through a lot this year, that’s for sure. A lot. After posting last year’s celebration, I never (in a million years) would have thought that I would be typing up a post about this year’s anniversary from our own apartment in New York City.
Life is an adventure and completely unpredictable, y’all. I’m just so thankful to have my best friend and rock by my side through it all.
Thank you for another year filled with love, laughs, hugs, comfort, new chapters, adventures, and hope. There isn’t a boring day that goes by being married to you, and for that, I’m grateful.
No one can make me laugh like you do, and your positive attitude and constant optimistic outlook on life is incredible. Cheers to another five years and many more!
I love you, Scott!
• Tervis Giveaway Winner
This morning I realized that I never announced my giveaway winner!
Thank you to all who entered the Tervis tumbler giveaway last week, and Congratulation to Julie S. You have been emailed and will need to respond in order to claim your prize.
Sorry about the delay, friends!
• Soho House Rooftop
Yesterday, I had plans to meet my friend, Lauren, and she suggested that we skip lunch and hang at the rooftop at Soho House instead. When she told me to bring my bathing suit, I knew I would be in for a treat, but I didn’t expect to walk into this incredible oasis.
You’re not allowed to take pictures on the rooftop, which I quickly found out after snapping this one. Whoops! We spent several hours lounging around and soaking in some much-needed rays. It was glorious, and while I’m interviewing, I’m just trying to enjoy the summer and every free day I have before working full-time again!

Hi Heather! I have always wanted to hang out on the roof at Soho house, and your post just intensified that. I was just wondering if you needed to have a membership/room to get in? Did you guys just walk in and go up to the pool? I am now determined to plan a weekday outing with some friends 🙂
Heather
Hi Lauren! Yes, you have to have a membership or be with a member to access the rooftop. My friend has been one for 10 years! Crazy. It’s expensive, but definitely worth it, if you plan to use it often.
Lauren
Ahh bummer! I thought that might be the case. Lucky you for having the connection 🙂 Glad to see you’ve been enjoying NYC so much!
