Hi friends! Wow, I can’t believe that Friday is already here.
This week was a doozie. There were days that I worked late hours and didn’t get home to eat dinner until 9:30 p.m. I had every intention of sharing a(nother) fun factory tour adventure on the blog mid-week, but I chose sleep over plugging away extra time on the computer instead. I hope to get back into the swing of things again next week!
I’m really loving my job, but I do miss checking in with y’all on a regular basis. I guess we’ll see how the next few months unfold as things start to pick up even more. In the mean time, I love catching up at the end of the week and sharing some of the highlights on my end (and reading about yours!) through Friday Favorites.
Below are some of the things that I have been loving lately. Here we go!
Friday Favorites #159: Week of 9/16
• new bedding
In need of a little bedding refresh, I became pretty excited over some new threads that arrived last week.
Crane & Canopy is an online bedding brand that offers luxury bedding and duvet covers, without the department store markup. From colorful patterns and silky soft sheets to luxurious solids and textures, their collection of premium bedding features high quality cotton woven in a 300+ thread count and sateen weave. I’m happy to be partnering with them and will be showcasing our new bedding in the near future!
(My package came with a calming bag of lavender that smells amazing!)
Here a quick sneak peek, in honor of Make Your Bed Day this Sunday. (<- Yes, this is a thing.) Do you make your bed on the regular? I’d love to know in the comments section!
• Nike FlyKnit Air Max sneakers
I briefly mentioned a new pair of running/gym shoes earlier this week. I attended an event for Paragon Sports and was gifted these Nike FlyKnit Air Max sneakers on my way out by the company. I was able to pick any pair of sneakers in the store, and I chose these because of the functionality and support.
(loving them in , , and ) <- on sale!
Now that I wear sneakers all day, every day, feeling comfortable and supported was my main must. It’s not always easy to find a pair of shoes that are supportive enough for running, but light enough to walk around or strength train in, too. I specifically chose these shoes to wear to work at Orangetheory, and they have been wonderful during the workouts that include everything from sprinting on treadmills to completing plyometric bodyweight and dumbbell exercises.
(To those who have asked me what shoes are best for Orangetheory workouts, my answer is a running shoe that doesn’t feel clunky … a.k.a. these!)
• fall weather rolling in
Oh my goodness. What started as a scorching weekend turned into an absolutely beautiful week of weather in New York City. Yesterday was officially my favorite, and it was sunny, yet breezy enough to wear long sleeves and not sweat to death.
I’ll probably share a photo (on social media) with the temperature displayed on it quite often during the Fall season. Sorry I’m not sorry for soaking in every minute of this beautiful time of year before the frigid Winter hits in just a few months!
A temperature in the low to mid-seventies is for sure my sweet spot. *sigh*
• Starbucks Salad Bowls
I’ve been extra smitten with Starbucks lately. Pumpkin Spice Lattes aside (<- yum!), I’ve been walking down to our neighborhood shop for breakfast and lunch lately. Of course, an afternoon chai tea latte is a perk, too.
I tried the Zesty Chicken & Black Bean Salad Bowl for the first time yesterday and it was fan-freaking-tastic. I went light on the dressing, and still got a ton of flavor from the roasted corn and black bean quinoa salad. I loved the zingy combination of grilled chicken, black beans, roasted corn, jicama, tomatoes, feta, spring greens, and quinoa.
I’ll definitely try another Salad Bowl soon!
• Speck laptop protector case
I brought my beloved Macbook Air home with me over two years ago – time flies! Just like an iPhone, I wanted to keep it safe, so I bought a shell case at the Apple store.
My teal case did a great job of protecting my laptop, but it’s been through a lot, and the bottom ended up cracking a few months ago. I finally stopped into Best Buy and replaced it with a clear version yesterday.
(You can also find them and on Amazon in several colors!)
I chose clear so I can use my Macbook at work and on-site without it sticking out in an obvious way. I was super concerned that the Macbook Air design would be too fragile, but the protective case really helps. I feel completely okay tossing it into my backpack and lugging it around town.
• mahabis slippers with detachable soles
Scott surprised me with a few things this week! One thing was flowers (so sweet), and another was his-and-hers mahabis slippers. I’d never heard of them, but they’re pretty flipping cool.
They’re designed to keep you comfortable indoors, and are the only slipper (I know of) that you can pop on a detachable sole to start your everyday adventures outdoors, too.
My classics are lined with wool and an inner sole, and there is a collapsible heel where the slip-on detachable sole clips on. It’s a really cool concept and is the perfect scenario when I’m getting ready and need to walk Roadie before I change and get out for the day. I’m loving them inside, but I haven’t taken them outside yet.
After browsing the website, I think I might exchange the blue detachable sole for a different color. I love the white and grey soles the best, and with a retail price of $105, I want to make sure that I get plenty of use out of them!

Those sneakers are TO DIE FOR. I basically get a new pair of Nikes every year for my birthday (in December) so I might have to ask for those!
The weather in New England has been to die for. Is there a place that exists that is actually mid-seventies every single day? Because that’s a place I’d like to live.
The ingredients in that Starbucks salad sound delicious. Definitely something I’d want to DIY!
Have a great weekend!

Right? It hasn’t been mid-70s all week, but I’m sure hoping it stays that way for a while. Please, Mother Nature? 😉 Happy Friday!

Starting at a new job that is also starting as a business is a LOT of work! I’ve been there. but it will calm down! I love the Nike Flyknits–any model is good with me. They are just so comfortable.

Newbie here. Thanks for hosting!
Those shoes are adorable! Nike makes the cutest shoes, though I’ve never been able to run in them. I still own a few pair just for their looks!
The dog in the shopping cart cracks me up! When I was a kid I snuck home a dog (from Knotts Berry Farm!) as well as a Guinea pig and a few other pets I figured my parents would eventually love as much as I did!

72 degrees in the middle of the day sounds glorious! We are in the low 80s right now and even that feels awesome after the summer we had. Also, those slippers are genius! They kind of remind me of the sketchers walking shoes, which are super comfy.
