Today is close to the end of the second week in January already, huh? I see you 2014… trying to sneak on by just like the last year did.
It’s a good thing there’s something like weekly recaps to keep track of things. Otherwise we might end up in the middle of June wondering where the snow went and how we got to the beach…
I guess that wouldn’t be all that horrible. Ahh, missing my Florida weather, family and friends this week for sure!
On that note, here are a list of highlights from my week. As always, it consists of random finds I think to be notable including food, fashion, fitness, and funnies. Not particularly in that order. Feel free to add on to the list with your favorites in the comments section and even link up using the blue inlinkz button at the bottom. TGIF!
Friday Favorites #19: Week of 1/10
• layering with cardigans
I don’t know where I have been for the last few years, but I just decided to start layering with cardigans while packing for our trip to Paris. Occasionally I will also add a statement necklace if I’m feeling fancy.
It’s a great way to mix and match pieces, and you can change up the look of any sweater with a different button-up print underneath.
• pumpkin spice coffee
Do you remember my very first giveaway on the blog what seems to be lightyears ago? Well, technically… it was on my other blog. The transformation into the blogging platform you see today is confusing, I know.
Anyways, the first thing I ever wanted to gift to you all was this pumpkin spice coffee from The Fresh Market because I am that obsessed with it.
We don’t have any Fresh Market stores near me (that I am aware of?), so you can imagine how excited I was to see this bag of coffee show up with my mom on her latest visit up to see us. If you ask me, pumpkin is most certainly a flavor you can enjoy all year long!
• fresh snowfall
As annoyed and scared I might get about living and driving in the snow almost every day during the winter, sights like this one make it seem a little more worth it.
I love the neighborhood we live in… mostly for it’s huge pine trees lining the main street corners. I fell in love with the fall but always feel extra tingly when I see a fresh snowfall on the branches while driving or walking towards the entrance.
• a return of Fitness Pilates
After a few weeks off due to the holidays and traveling, I finally made my return to group fitness classes at the gym last night.
It felt so, so great and even inspired me to knock out a few miles on the treadmill afterwards. Man, I really can’t wait for the day I am able to run outside again!
• 21 Things You Should Throw Away Right Now via BuzzFeed
Seriously though. All of it. And just in case you need a reminder of what to do with those old gym shoes, be a kind runner.
• cookie butter
Have you guys heard of cookie butter before? If not, let me save you a lot of calories and introduce you: You, cookie butter. Cookie butter, you.
Cookie butter is like a distant cousin of peanut butter. It’s made of ground-up cookies and oil, making it a less nutritious in some ways, but when you consider the decrease in calories and sugar it seems a little easier to indulge in. Let’s be real here, any kind of peanut butter can get addictive, so I appreciate the lightness with this one.
(gluten-free waffles topped in cookie & coca butter swirl spread with sliced bananas.)
They do have plain jars, but I chose to pick up this cookie butter & cocoa swirl jar on my last trip to Trader Joe’s. Where have you been all my life?!
• long studded sweaters
I found this one on the clearance rack at Target (<- my fav finds!) last week and plan to rock it out with a pair of leggings and boots.
I love the studs on the shoulders that give it some edge, despite how much Scott thinks it belongs at an 80’s party. Whatever dude.
And last but certainly not least…
• you guys!
Really. I don’t tell you all enough how much I love hearing from you through blog comments or emails. I randomly threw these #FFavorites posts at you almost twenty weeks ago (wha???), and am so excited to see how popular they have already become. Thank you so much for not only checking in, but for engaging and sharing your two cents every now and then.
I promise your words don’t ever go unnoticed!
And with that I am wishing you all a very Happy Friday!

Have a great start to your weekend! 😀

Me, cookie butter. Cookie butter, me. Darn you Heather!! I am sure I will be addicted…thank you very much!!
Ha, you’re welcome! (?) There’s always a new version of butter out there to try… I just make them more noticeable for you. 😉
Cookie butter now comes with a chocolate swirl!!!! Dangerous! Moving from Orlando to Baltimore a year and a half ago…i can relate with the snow. Having to drive in it can be stressful…but once you stop panicking and look around…its really beautiful =)
Couldn’t agree more. This week was actually the first time I felt a “comfortable” snowy drive. I am, however, looking forward to trading my Florida (rear wheel drive) car in next week and getting a more rugged all-wheel drive something or other. All I care about now is safe tires and heated seats. Funny how the priorities change!
Cookie butter!!!!! ahhh with chocolate! I’m obsessed with chocolate! Loving all your favorites, specially the cookie butter 😀 Thanks for sharing 🙂 have a nice weekend!
I knew it was only a matter of time before you became a Trader Joes Junkie and found the cookie butter… it’s the best! 🙂
UM yum cookie butter is the best!! I’m so psyched… there’s FINALLY a Trader Joe’s opening up in my hometown which means I can FINALLY go shopping there! The closest one before this one opens is 45 minutes away… yikes.
We have the same delightful jar! I was also surprised looking at the nutrition facts, until I noticed that they were for 1T instead of 2T for peanut butter 🙁 I still love it and am pretty addicted! So YUMMY!
I know… that is deceiving, but I still found the 2Tbsp. numbers better than the regular peanut/almond butter I usually use!
Its times like these I wish Canada had a TJ’s because that cookie butter looks amazing! I am totally with you on the whole pumpkin is good year round thing. I’ve personally been loving my pumpkin spice coffee as well!
I’m also loving some new clothes!
I am IN LOVE with that Cookie butter!
Have a great weekend!
Gah, wait I am so sickly obsessed with cookie butter. Guilty of just buying another jar this evening. So good by the spoonful, or spread out on a low-carb tortilla. Did you know there was actually a cookie butter shortage once? Makes me feel less insane for loving it so much! I wrote about it in my blog here http://www.coffeewithkate.com/2013/12/02/fab-food-find-cookie-butter/
I just read that the other day! Can’t believe it was/is THAT popular! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I need those waffles in my life asap! Not a huge fan of cookie butter because its just way too sweet for me but I do love sunflower seed butter probably a little too much!
I have been hearing about cookie butter for a while but have resisted trying it because I know i’d be addicted.
pumpkin coffee is the best!!!
Fell in love with cookie butter at the end of last summer, and bought two jars to bring home! My boyfriend and I LOVE to take a spoon to it while watching movies in bed (the best type of date nights if you ask me…)
