Good morning friends! I, for one, am extremely excited that today is Friday. Anyone else?
Scott and I both have a Pistons event this afternoon, then have plans to enjoy the weekend. The next to last home game is Saturday, but other than that, the rest of the weekend looks pretty free.
I am really looking forward to finally getting to catch up around the house and lay low a little. Is that lame? Ha. Maybe so, but I’m not embarrassed about it one teeny tiny bit.
Anyways, today I have a brand new batch of things I have been loving this week. Below you will find this week’s compilation of Friday Favorites, and I invite you all to join in on the fun by sharing yours in the comments section and even linking up!
Friday Favorites #31: Week of 4/4
• Sperrys
I have been wanting a pair of Sperry Top-Siders for a while now and finally hopped on the train through Zappos.
Sidenote:
If you have never used the company before, I highly recommend it!
The site offers more than shoes and includes free shipping on everything. If there is something you need to return (including gifts without a receipt), you can make an exchange withing 365 days by calling or even chatting with a consultant online. They will put in the new order by the end of the conversation and send you a pre-paid UPS or USPS label and just ask you to mail back the shoes within 7-14 business days to avoid being charged.
Easy right?
While I originally wanted a tan pair to go with anything, I found this charcoal and pink combo and thought they would be just as versatile!
I received them within two days of making an exchange (<- impressive!) and broke them in on my recent trip to Florida.
I absolutely love them, and have been wearing them with no show PED socks for extra comfort.
My one set back, however, happened on the plane when I somehow managed to spill a drop of juice on them. Thanks to my grandmother, I learned that the best way to get stains out of Sperrys is to dip a rag into white vinegar and gently rub the surface of where the stain is.
Be careful not to rub too hard, as you don’t want to strip the material of it’s color. But, what you see on the front of the shoe pictured are the only remains of dark purple juice drips. Not bad!
• St. Augustine
Every time I make my way south, I want to immediately plan another trip down. There’s just something to say about blue skies, sunshine and green palm trees in March!
I have been to St. Augustine a handful of times, and became quickly reminded of how cool and beautiful the city is on this last trip. The downtown area is full of history, bed and breakfasts, and unique restaurants.
For my 25th birthday, Scott took me up for the weekend (it is about two hours north of Orlando), and we had the best time. We stayed at the Augustin Inn in the Historic District and loved the experience of staying in a family run B&B.
With plenty to do within walking distance, we kept busy visiting the fort, the beach, the famous Fountain of Youth, and even took a nighttime walking ghost tour. Since I never ended up blogging about this trip, I feel like we need to revisit.
Going solo last weekend makes me want to do nothing more but escape back down with my groom and share more stories with you!
• Katie + John’s wedding video
With permission of course, I am sharing the video John ever so lovingly made for his new bride, Katie, as a surprise!
In case you missed it, I posted all about their St. Augustine wedding yesterday.
Right after the speeches, John thanked the guests for coming and sat his bride front and center for a video telling their story. Weeks before the big day, he emailed a group of friends and family and asked us to all film a special segment for the finale to “Happy”.
And just so you know, Scott and I both may or may not have made a couple of cameos at the end!
(In case it isn’t configuring correctly, you can also watch the video here.)
Any brides out there looking for a similar video to show at their shower or wedding? John is available for hire!
• Victoria’s Secret free tote
I recently received a coupon in the mail for a free VS tote with a $75 in store purchase. Since I didn’t really need anything from the store, I didn’t give it a second glance until I saw my friend Alex with the tote at her house the next day. It was so much cuter in person!
Needless to say, I still didn’t need anything from the store, but am very grateful that Alex did. I love when freebies turn out to be cute and practical. (Thanks girl!)
Are any of you currently sporting the same bag?
• Amy’s Gluten Free Pizza
I have been seeing these pizzas in the freezer section for months now and finally bought myself one to try, per suggestion from you guys.
Most of you already know I am an avid Amy’s fan, and this product just made me love the organic, Non-GMO brand even more.
The Margherita flavor was delicious. Anddd gluten free. Score!
• wax lined candle
Scott and I received this beautiful (and amazing smelling!) candle for Christmas from our dear friend, Nichole.
It wasn’t until we finally burned it a few weeks ago that we noticed that the inside is lined with wax. The brand is called Esque candles, and both Scott and I want to purchase more. This one is the Terra Cotta, and you can find them online or at Target!
• sparkly soul headband
I picked up this charcoal sparkly soul headband after taking a yoga sculpt class with Gina in New York! In fact, we both bought one, and rocked them on our way back to the hotel.
I have admired the look of these sparkly no-slip headbands and hope to grow my collection in the very near future.
I have especially been loving this one for dance practice and running, and would love to try a thick one as well!
All right. That’s enough about my week. Now it’s time to hear about some of your #FFavorites!
Your Turn
Have a very Happy Friday! 😀

Your Sperry Top-Siders are so cute. Love the color combo you picked! Glad you could get the stain out. That would have been a bummer.
Heather
Yes! Great trick I must remember. Thanks, Grandma!

that video is the most adorable thing ever!
Heather
I’m kind of obsessed. Happy Friday!
Runner Girl Eats
Cute video! I have been loving looking at wedding pics from the photographer! Now I just have to narrow it down to which ones we are going to order 🙂
Heather
That is such a hard decision to make! Took us a couple of months 😉 Good luck!

Happy Friday Heather! A free tote?! That’s a huge score & totally adorable. Sperry’s have become my go-to shoe, & those are super cute. I’ve started my own personal collection and may have to add that color to the mix. 😉 Weddings are so fun & that one looks beautiful. I’ve never been to St. Augustine, but this makes me want to visit.
Heather
I really, really want to go back soon!
Anna-Marie @BeautyandtheBeets

I think I’ve wanted a pair of Sperry’s for so long, that I forgot I wanted them! Loving yours!! Also, the pizza looks really good! I went to St. Augustine a couple of years ago, and I really liked it! Would love to go back!
Heather
Haha I did the same thing! Until recently, obviously. Happy Weekend 🙂

LOVE your Sperry’s! I have a tan pair that I love, but I kind of want another pair that has some color or sparkle. I need to check out Zappos!

Ahh, I am LOVING the Sperry’s!! I really want a pair. I like your choice of charcoal. I am a BIG TIME fan of all things gray, especially when it comes to clothing and home decor.

I had the pesto Amy’s pizza this week – it was reallly good! I had never tried Amy’s pizza before but I should have known it’d be good based on that I really like a lot of those products. Also – super Sperrys 🙂
Heather
Yum, pesto!

I am obsessed with Sperry’s! Boat shoes are my go-to on Fridays when I can wear jeans to work–they are so comfy!
Heather
Yes! Now if there was only a boat to jump on with them… 😉
