Good morning, and a very Happy Friday to you!
I feel like I say this every week, but this one flew by. Anyone else? I’ve been busier than normal at the gym, so it’s been a little lighter with posts on the blog this week, too. Boo. I’ve really missed you guys, and I have every intention on resuming a normal posting schedule next week. But, for now, let’s stick to celebrating what happened this week!
On Fridays we like to talk Favorites. I enjoy seeing what you have been loving too, so please feel free to play along and join in on the comments section and link-up at the bottom!
Friday Favorites #85: Week of 4/17
• almond & almond milk coffee creamers
I have been continuously using and buying almond coffee creamers over the past several weeks.
Pictured above is the vanilla flavor from Silk, but I have also been loving So Delicious almond milk dairy-free creamers. Both brands are Non-GMO and can be found in your local grocery stores. Almonds + Milk + Coffee Creamer = <3.
• beauty counter concealer pen
I introduced my new love for Beauty Counter last week. It’s a completely natural skin care and makeup line that steers away from using any chemicals, and I have been extremely happy with everything I’ve tried so far.
I got this touchup skin concealer pen when I ordered and received the rose water mist I shared last week, and it might just be the best I’ve ever tried. Really.
Use it alone or with foundation to cover redness, dark circles, and trouble spots on your skin like blemishes. The click-pen and brush applicator makes it easy to apply the perfect amount, even on the go. I ordered the Light shade for my winter-kissed skin, and I haven’t been able to put it down. It’s a fabulous product!
• any position memory foam pillow
Scott brought this pillow home from the chiropractor’s office at least six months ago, and both of us fight over using it every night.
(similar, similar, similar <- fancy prints!)
You can unzip the cover and throw it in to wash with your regular sheets any time you change them. I don’t necessarily sleep with it under my neck, but it sure is comfortable while I read or type on my laptop at night. We should definitely invest in another!
• sherbet
Any sherbet fans in the house?
Scott picked up two containers of Purple Cow sherbet this week: lemonberry twist and rainbow, because, you know, we needed both. Naturally, we mixed the two flavors (<- fantastic choice), and digging my spoon into a scoop of rainbow sherbet will always take me right back to my childhood. It was always in our freezer growing up, and will continue to be an after dinner treat I enjoy for decades to come!
• Van’s gluten free sides
The kind folks over at Van’s sent me their new(er) boxes of pasta sides to try forever ago, and I finally got around to breaking one open last night.
Wanting to turn the side into an entrée for two, I added ground turkey meat to the Creamy Herb & Garlic pasta and it was a tasty success!
Any gluten free pasta that gets husband approved around here has to be a great product, and I am happy to report that Scott loved it!
• vitamin C gummies
I realize that the gummy version of vitamins may not be as healthy as regular supplements in the form of a powdered capsule, but gosh, some gummy vitamins are just so dang delicious. These vitamin C gummies I received from the Vitamin Shoppe are no exception!
Since I take a multivitamin every day, I don’t think to take other specific vitamins every day. I will, however, chomp on a couple of these to help keep my immune system on its game as we transition into the spring and summer. A little extra dose of Vitamin C sliced nutrients never hurt anyone!
• Aspen’s face planting slash snuggling
I seriously can’t handle the cuteness sometimes.
I’ve mentioned that all three of our pets are massive snugglers on the blog many times. What I don’t always highlight, however, is the funny positions they get themselves into in order to ensure the most comfort.
Aspen will find her way onto one of our laps any time we are sitting or laying down, and her favorite go-to move has been to face plant into our chests or stomachs lately. I love her for it. She’s freaking hilarious.

Ha! I love those pics of Aspen snuggling. Cats are hilarious.
Pets are so good for the soul. I couldn’t imagine not having all three of ours!
Omg your cat cuddling!! I can’t even handle the cuteness! I love sherbet and I need that memory foam pillow!
I really, really need to get another one. (memory foam pillow, not tub of sherbet) 😉
the pics of aspen snuggling made my morning!!!! lol!
she’s a true gem. Gotta love her! <3
OMG I can’t even with Aspen. I CAN”T EVEN
Hehehe, she truly makes me laugh every day!
Oh gosh your kitty face planting for snuggling is soooo cute! I double up the pillows to read at night, so that pillow looks a little bit like Heaven. Happy Friday!
Thanks Heather, you too. Have a great weekend!
Snuggles for the win! That put a huge smile on my face.
Woo hoo – mission accomplished! 😉 Happy Friday!
Haha I laughed way harder than I should have at those T-rex pictures. The chaturanga one kills me…
Only one of my cats is a big snuggler, but she does the same face-plant thing. She also likes to burrow her face in my shoulder while I carry her around the house. So spoiled.
Ha! I know… they’re so great. Whenever I need a laugh I simply google “t-rex hates…” and smile every time. Your cat sounds adorable! Love it!
Ah, gotta love the T. rex jokes. Your cat’s face smoosh is so funny! My dog does that to me when I get home–she buries her head into you as a signal that you should be petting her. I didn’t know that almond milk creamer even existed, but that is right up my alley! I’ll have to try it the next time I buy creamer!
Of course, we should always be petting them. What’s wrong with us? lol. Pets are so cute 🙂
I love sherbet, I haven’t had any in such a long time. Guess I should head to the store and snag some.
It’s been great on these sunnier, spring evenings!
Ahhh your snuggling pets are adorable!
I guess we’ll keep them around… 😉
Hi Heather! Thanks for hosting the link-up party today. First of all, cats are really strange and funny. I don’t have cats and will likely never get them, but I did have some growing up and can appreciate why people love them. Do you follow Cats of Instagram? You should. And there are some awesome weird cat videos on YouTube. I’d say I’m embarrassed that I know that, but I’m not. hahahah Hope you have an awesome weekend!
No! I need to, thanks for the suggestion! Haha, love it.
Cute snuggles!! haha!
I LOVE sherbet. SO SO much! I need it in my life again!
I’m intrigued by the almond milk creamers! I’m wondering if they’re creamier than traditional almond milk? Because I need thick and creamy in my creamers! 😉
Haha – hilarious photo of Aspen cuddling!
They are thicker than regular almond milk but not as thick as regular creamers, if that makes sense! I hope you like them if you give ’em a try!
That way Aspen is laying!!! Oh my gosh! Bahaha! And hose T-Rex memes are funny 🙂
Hehe they will without a doubt always make me laugh!
Aspen’s face plant is excellent! I get aggressive head butts when Merlin wants to snuggle.
I love all the T-Rex cartoons!
This week did fly by! When I was prepping my post for today, it was like dajavu!
Awwww, Aspen! How cute is that?!? And, ummm, did we have ESP this week with the Van’s pasta? 😉
Ha, I actually saw it on your blog yesterday and it reminded me I still have mine to try! #twinsies 🙂
That face plant is the cutest thing EVER!!! 🙂
I’ll have to look into that concealor! I’ve been looking for a good one and still haven’t found one yet. I’m on the hunt! I have a few red acne scars that I’m constantly trying to hide, but can’t seem to find the magic potion yet. 🙂
Oh my gosh Aspen! So cute. I love kitty snuggles. My cat Oscar is cuddly at night. Sometimes he even tries to share our pillows.
WOW, throwback! Rainbow sherbet was my FAVORITE treat when I was a little girl!
Mm I could eat those vitamin C gummies! Happy Friday!
I have not had sherbert in forever!! That looks so yummy.

Happy Friday! I have been looking for a natural beauty brand, thanks for sharing Beauty Counter, I am definitely going to check them out!
Awesome! It’s kind of pricey, but I really have loved the products I’ve tried so far!
I went on the hunt for sherbet the other day and they didn’t have any! Well, I take that back. They had only one flavor, not the mix of them which is what I wanted 🙂
Oh no! That’s a sad state of affairs right there. Hope you find it soon!
I haven’t had sherbert in forever, I love the rainbow stuff!
It’s the best flavor out there!
Aspen is so cute! That almond milk creamer looks so delicious. I always find that regular almond milk goes sort of weird when you add it to hot beverages, so I am wondering if the creamer has a “smoother” texture? (I hope you understand what I am trying to say here, ha!)
I don’t know if it’s smoother, but (to me) it certainly does better than regular almond milk!
Sherbert fan right here!!! I’ve been craving fro-yo for a few days, but I’m thinking some ice cream might just do the trick! Have a great weekend!!
Fro yo, YUM! <3 thanks, you too!
those kind of pillows are soooo comfy! My father in law is a chiropractor and I always love using the stuff from his office haha! and ps- that ice cream is calling my name and asking me to eat it so don’t mind if it show up asking for ice cream 🙂
Xo
Candace
Lovely Little Rants
I bet you get a lot of great goodies! Happy Weekend!
Whoa, rainbow sherbert flashbacks! And just like that, I’m craving it! Might need to grab a few mini cones to complete the experience. Happy Friday 🙂
Cones!! Oh my gosh, waffle cones with rainbow sherbet is the BEST!
Rainbow sherbet was always my favorite too! You’ve inspired me to add it to our grocery list this week 🙂
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! 😉
I am loving the weather in Michigan this week, and with that, being able to break out my spring/summer footwear (having to wear socks or tights daily was really starting to get old) . I think if every cat was like Aspen, everyone would be converted to cat lovers, lol – so cute! Have a great weekend.
Yes!!! Finally! Enjoy the weekend in this beautiful weather!
I am a huge fan of sherbert too! It really is delicious! And gosh my pets are the same way, although I have not seen them face plant, but my 70+ pound dog loves to grab a bone and plop himself right on my lap like it isn’t as big as me!
Aw, love that! Happy weekend, Hilary!
I wish Dave’s cats would snuggle me more 🙁 but I get so many snuggles from my dog so it’s ok 🙂 I have to try that almond milk creamer! I’ve been using cashew milk but it’s just not the same.
Aw, dog snuggles are just as awesome. <3<3
Such a great and positive post! Absolutely love your blog xx
Jana // Life of Jana
Thanks so much, Jana! I hope you have a great week! xo
The kitty snuggle- totally looks like something mine would do!!!!
Had a chance to visit Greek Town today on our VERY short trip to Detroit. Had an awesome gyro platter at Parthenon. Sean wanted to try that pizza place you blogged about soooo badly but the folks we were meeting had already chosen. I had also tried to steer the group to Meeting House or Rochester Brunch but alas, we went in the other direction. Thanks for the suggestions though!!!!!!
We’ve never been to Parthenon. We actually haven’t been to Greek Town more than a couple of times! We’ll have to stop by soon. Yeah, Rochester isn’t exactly close to Detroit, either. I hope you get to visit again soon!
Okay, the Aspen face plant is too cute to handle! Seriously! We just adopted another cat from the shelter, his name is Aries and he’s about 3 years old. We found out he was abandoned by his previous owners in a house. He was left there and the police ended up finding him. Poor kitty! So I think now he is a bit paranoid about being left alone because if we are anywhere in the house, he will find us. And he is a MAJOR snuggler. He crawls right onto our laps and just makes himself comfortable, even if I’m using my laptop or reading. Doesn’t matter.
Aw, Aries sounds adorable. He (she?) is so lucky to have you! Adoptive pets are the sweetest. All three of ours came from the shelter or literally off the streets! 😉 They are usually so snuggly and grateful to have a home!
I can’t with your cat cuddling. So cute! Love the vitamin gummies too.
