Hi there and Happy Friday to you!
What a week it was. No matter what your views are, I think seeing a woman of color sworn in as our country’s Vice President was pretty special, and that was a big highlight for me. After seeing terrifying events and footage covered on the same capitol grounds just earlier this month, viewing a peaceful and inspirational inauguration ceremony was like a breath of fresh air. And I really needed that.
Jumping right into it, today’s Friday Favorites post highlights my latest fitness fashion finds (for a steal!), green smoothie inspo, neighborhood dining, and more. Thank you for checking in today, and let’s kick things off with something fun …

(Check out my latest reel for the try-on … 20 outfits for under $310!)
In this video:
Fabletics:
Iridescent Sports Bra & High-Waisted Iridescent Luxe 7/8 Leggings
Scarlett Long-Sleeve Turtleneck Top
Kathie Ruched Back Long-Sleeve Top
(I linked their department since there is a TON of cute stuff on sale)
Kyodan Leggings (here in a darker shade)
DSW:
Adidas Puremotion Running Shoes (also here, here)
Just to throw it out there, I have a Fabletics membership (highly recommend since you can skip months as much as you need and get outfits at killer deals) which enabled me to pick 2 top/bottom outfits AND 2 extra tops for a total of $190. I love the quality of this brand, and while I am not partnered with them, I can earn store credit by you shopping through this link.
I am always on the hunt for deals, and I find a lot of great ones at Marshalls, Old Navy, Nordstrom Rack, DSW, and even Amazon. Did I forget your favorite place to shop? Drop your suggestions in the comments!
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK OF 1/22

- C&C California Hair Clips
This was also a find at Marshalls, and I wanted to feature them here because I have been obsessed with how they perform and hold better than most jaw clips I’ve tried. Just like most things at stores like Marshalls, TJMaxx and Nordstrom Rack, you can’t always find an exact product page to link to, but I found the mini clips on Poshmark, and you can find similar styles here, here, here and here.

These were strategically placed at the check-out line, but I was thankful to find them with price tags of $5 each. You can’t beat it!
- Super Greens Smoothie
Are you a fan of green smoothies? If you’ve never actually tried one, you are missing out my friend! I have been loving them lately, especially when I feel like I need a good, nutritious pick-me-up that I can easily whip up and share with Skyler.

I like the fruity smoothies as much as the next girl, but I will always prefer to pack them with vegetables, too. You’re getting more bang for your buck, ya know? And bonus points if you add a booster or two.
Here’s my latest go-to that I think you’ll really like if you give it a try. It’s naturally sweet without any added sugars, and you can ditch the need for ice if you use at least one frozen fruit.
SUPER GREENS SMOOTHIE
INGREDIENTS
serves 2 (16 oz. each)
2 cups spinach
1 1/2 cups almond milk (or milk of choice)
1 banana
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup pineapple
Place spinach and liquid in the blender first, then fruit. Add boosters (below) if desired, and blend for about one minute!

(By the way, I swear by NOW Foods for protein powders, supplements, natural foods, and even some cleaner switches for my family. In my opinion, the brand is very underrated and I am excited to partner with them this year and showcase some of my go-to products I order.)
ADD BOOSTERS
Choose any one or all of the boosters below for extra nutrients and energy to kick-start your day. I added all three to this one and it tasted fab!
Protein powder (I use 1 scoop organic pea protein powder)
Chia seeds (1 Tbsp of any chia seeds will do!)
Spirulina powder – super greens (1 tsp organic is my fave)
By the way, did you know that spirulina powder has the highest protein level of all green superfoods and also has naturally occurring GLA (gamma linolenic acid), a popular fatty acid with numerous health benefits? A little bit goes a long way!

You can find a wide assortment of NOW Foods products on Amazon, but if you’d like to save 20% off your orders all year long, visit their website and use the promo code LIFEINLEGGINGS at checkout. Yay!
- Columbia Restaurant – Park Slope, Brooklyn
We have been exclusive to outdoor dining only in New York City for a while now, but I have to say that I am impressed by some of the setups restaurants have made to keep their businesses going through this challenging winter season.
Scott and I have been eyeing Colombia in our neighborhood for a long time and decided to stop by for an early dinner on their patio earlier this month. We were pleasantly surprised by the surroundings and felt safe (and warm!) with the space heaters and distance between the tables.
Also, the food was fantastic.

Scott ordered one of the brunch specials (Columbian Eggs Benedict) and I had the Arroz Con Pollo, Y Maduro (yellow rice with shredded chicken and vegetables with a side of plantains). Sky had an Arepa Con Queso and ate off of our plates as well.
It was all so flavorful and the plates had us full with leftovers to take home, too.

We will definitely be visiting again soon, and I would recommend you give them some love if you’re in the Park Slope area.

» Stability and Strength At-Home Workout
This workout uses gliders and one set of light to medium dumbbells, but get creative with what you have on hand! You can use paper plates instead of gliders, two small hand towels, or even just socks. Just be careful of slipping if you’re on a hard surface, and have a mat nearby if that’s the case.

Here’s a throwback to a little real talk paired with a recap of what I ate in a day. I used to blog in this style all the time, so thank you for humoring me as we take a trip back down memory lane. (This post was written in August, but the questions and answers are still relevant today!)

Okay friends, it’s time to get back to my family and enjoy the day. I hope you have a great weekend out there and stay healthy!
I’ll be back more regularly around here next week, but in the mean time, you can follow along with daily posting on Instagram.
Happy Friday!
